Matthew 10:34-37
Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household. He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

Men knew, part a billion in an infinity part series: Al Franken.
The photographer knew. The man sitting next to her knew. The picture was sent to God knows how many people. It wasn’t just men, but plenty of men did nothing. Men on that trip were literally sent photographic evidence and nothing happened for a decade.

Now that the stock market is going down, I feel like it’s a good time to write this without it sounding like sour grapes. The stock market is a shitty way to measure the economy. And the ways we measure the stock market are usually an unrepresentative sample of the market in general. A few dozen stocks, or even a few hundred don’t get at small business anything, or hiring, or wages.

Over the weekend, I saw The Government Inspector at Seattle Shakespeare. It was quite funny, but there were a few aspects that felt dated. One thing I wanted to comment on was the casting seemed to be gender neutral, or at least had some women playing male parts and it wasn’t commented on.
I don’t know if it was a lack of good parts for women, or what. I do know it took about a minute to figure out and then it was fine. I’d prefer better female characters, but if you’re reviving old plays that don’t have them, this is pretty good.

Leviticus 25:44-45
And as for your male and female slaves whom you may have—from the nations that are around you, from them you may buy male and female slaves. Moreover you may buy the children of the strangers who dwell among you, and their families who are with you, which they beget in your land; and they shall become your property.

I’m seeing a few people no big deal the Roy Moore and Louis CK allegations. Not just the usual (and despicable) bitches be lying. But there seems also to be a strain of even if it’s true, it’s not that bad.
I’m going to assume that everyone making that argument have something similar in their past, or ongoing.

Oh right, sometimes election results are good. I mean the statewide results are only from states that Hillary Clinton won. Other states are still busy dismantling unions and suppressing minority votes. They may well double down on that in the wake of the election.
Still and all, pretty good. Washington looks like we’ll have a Democratic majority in both houses. Seattle will have the mayor and 2/3 of the council be women on the day the election is certified.

6:08: Wait for it…Republicans will accuse Twitter of swaying the elections by bumping up the character count to 280 JUST BEFORE THE ELECTION.

HA Bible Study: Genesis 19:30-36
Genesis 19:30-36
Lot and his two daughters left Zoar and settled in the mountains, for he was afraid to stay in Zoar. He and his two daughters lived in a cave. One day the older daughter said to the younger, “Our father is old, and there is no man around here to lie with us, as is the custom all over the earth. Let’s get our father to drink wine and then lie with him and preserve our family line through our father.”That night they got their father to drink wine, and the older daughter went in and lay with him. He was not aware of it when she lay down or when she got up.
The next day the older daughter said to the younger, “Last night I lay with my father. Let’s get him to drink wine again tonight, and you go in and lie with him so we can preserve our family line through our father.” So they got their father to drink wine that night also, and the younger daughter went and lay with him. Again he was not aware of it when she lay down or when she got up.
So both of Lot’s daughters became pregnant by their father.
