    That’s a very strategic, high value target. Without refueling, air missions stop. This isn’t new. They got five of them about two weeks ago. They are incredibly hard to protect sitting on the ground unless the U.S. can obtain complete control over their own immediate airspace. And drones and medium range missiles prove they can’t. They proved this two years ago when Ukraine began to successfully strike high value targets deep inside Russia. Did we pay any attention?

    You also neglected to factor in consumer willingness to pay for WOW. When I was alive we hooked them early and reeled them in version by version with tantalizing new features. By the time they realized Android was cheaper and in many ways better they had so much invested in their Apple Cloud accounts they couldn’t afford to switch away.

    Playstation 5 has a 72% market share and Sony has already sold to about 75-80% of the expected purchasing cohort. So you’re arguing about a $30 premium for a massively superior product, with few buyers left who might be dissuaded by price.

    In 2018 Utah voters handily passed districting reform taking it out of the hands of the legislature and giving it to a non-partisan commission. Utah did the Austin, TX thing and split reliably blue salt lake city into all four congressional districts guaranteeing the one major city can’t be represented except by rural dominated districts.

    Anyway, the legislature took the 2018 election and said. “Nah” and produced another gerrymandered map. Utah voters sued, won and the all GOP Appointed ‘activist’ judges put the commission map into place for 2026 elections.

    The GrandOldPedophiles….THEY DID NOT LIKE IT!

    So they tried to put a ballot measure up repealing the 2018 vote. About a month ago they turned in enough signatures to qualify BUT Utah is unique because a ballot measure must ALSO get enough signatures in each of 26 of the 29 state Senate districts. They had made it at 26 districts.

    BUT.

    Utah also has a provision that after signatures are turned in voters have 45 days to ‘change their mind’ and remove their names. Armed with scripts obtained from paid signature gatherers and recordings of gatherers speaking to voters it was clear organizers of the repeal had trained the gatherers to lie about what they were collecting signatures for.

    Step one, supporters of the new map sent pre-stamped return cards to signers so they could easily remove themselves. And plenty of people did so.

    But the GrandOldPedophiles, THEY DID NOT LIKE IT and found a friendly judge to toss the preprinted pre stamped cards as not sufficient. So organizers started contacting those rejected card senders to ask them to contact their local registrar of voters directly.

    AND….

    This week Two districts fell below the threshhold and the measure will not be on the ballot.

    They cheated in 2020. They cheated in. 2022. They cheated in 2024. But Salt Lake City is pretty much assured of sending a Democratic candidate to one of Utah’s four Congressional seats for a long time.
