The fact that the hospital in the article chooses to coordinate with another hospital 50 miles away doesn’t mean that patients have to be inconvenienced by it. It’s probably a network or ownership decision driving that coordination, not interest in patient care. After all, wouldn’t you rather coordinate with a Washington hospital so your patients aren’t burdened by Idaho laws? Wasn’t that the point of the article – burdensome Idaho laws?
