    I knew the attacks on the LDS Church would start soon. It won’t be the Obama campaign to do the attacks themselves, but their surrogates in the media are already starting in with the jokes on the Mormons. Bill Maher, John Stewart and Colbert will be all over it in the next few weeks, making the LDS Church look stupid and out-of-touch.

    I wonder if these national figures like Maher and Stewart would attack Islam with the same vigor that they will no doubt apply in their attacks against the Mormons if a Muslim, instead of a Morman, were running for prez against the Milk Chocolate Messiah. My guess is that they would moderate their criticism because some Islamo-whacko might kill them in the street in the name of Allah.

    I’m not a Mormon, and their religion is not for me. But I do beleive we’re all entitled to believe whatever we choose to believe about a supreme being. Or we can beleive nothing. It’s all the same for me. I personally lean towards the nature-based religions rather than the Abrahamic faiths.

    @20: I was raised in the church. I come from Swedish converts who pulled handcarts across the country to settle in Southern Idaho. I am an ex Mormon and an atheist. So now are my once very conservative parents.

    It is important that folks understand the ideology of Mormonism because it often drives governing by Mormon electeds. Mormons are dominionists’ dominionists (subdue the earth) and calvinist to the core (rich = blessed and better than you) amongst much other problematic dogma. Glenn Beck gets his craziness from mormon leader W. Cleon Skousen (look him up, he was an original Bircher). Then there’s all that baptism for the dead stuff (Ann Frank has been baptized a reported ten times).

    It gets much weirder than that, believe me: google “burned over region”, “white horse prophecy”, “mountain meadows” and read around.

    Mormonism is a dangerous cult that thinks it will rule the world (and the elite will create their own worlds). Rmoney is a leader in the cult. People should be very aware and wary of Mitt’s religion when they vote.

    When I was a kid my local Boy Scout troop was lead by the local Mormon Church. Even through The Scouts were non-denominational and the only religious thing that went on was a pretty bland prayer at the beginning of our meetings, it was still clannish and weird. I lasted two months in the scouts. Every other non-mormon kid that went though that scout troop also dropped out in short order.

    Mass Shooting Of The Day (TM)

    Today’s mass murder occurred in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Local media are reporting “at least 4” dead and up to 20 people shot. A police officer is wounded and a shooter has been shot. There may be additional shooters and possibly children are being held hostage.

    The shooting occurred at a Sikh Temple in south Milwaukee, and initial witness reports indicate the shooter is a white male in his 30s who is not known to the congregants. At least three priests were shot.

    The incident is being described as a hate crime.

Obama shelved the Constellation program in 2010, however, and instead proposed relying on private-sector companies to fill the shuttle’s role in ferrying cargo and crew to the space station.

    With the end of the shuttle program, the United States is now dependent on Russian Soyuz vehicles to carry astronauts to the International Space Station.
