We don’t really need a 50% increase in defense spending, and ending the Iran war today will save billions more. Fire all the Trump appointees and you measurable payroll savings.
On the revenue side, corporate profits are the largest ever, so there’s room for reinstating the corporate tax cuts without harming capital markets or putting much of a dent in the stock market. Take back the billionaire tax cuts, and tax carried interest as ordinary income.
Lowering deficits through these measures will bring down interest rates, saving Uncle Sam billions on one of his biggest expenses, interest on debt.
