RealClearPolitics, which constructs its electoral vote map using by averaging several national polls, gives Obama 286 EVs to McCain’s 160 with 92 tossups. It’ll be interesting to see how well McCain’s victory strategy works. He’s staking everything on peeling off Pennsylvania (21 EVs) from Obama and winning all of the tossups. (Hmm, well, he could afford to lose North Dakota if he won Pennsylvania.)

I am an accountant. As part of my licensing and for other reasons, I am occasionally asked if I have an accounting degree. I always reply that I do have the appropriate accounting degree necessary to do my job.
I attended Portland State University when I earned this degree. PSU does not offer a degree in Accounting. Looking at my printed hunk of parchment, I see that I really have a degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Accounting. Because that’s what they call it at that institution.
I don’t believe that I am misrepresenting myself to anyone.
And Ms. Burner could very well have an Economics degree, even though her hunk of parchment calls it something different, too. I certainly don’t see any attempt to misrepresent herself to anyone.

I have a degree in Mathematics and Conputer Science from the UW. One degree. Two concentrations. Pretty simple, for those capable of thinking about it.
And, though I wasn’t always so certain, ir looks like Darcy’s going to win, and Obama’s going to win, and Chris Gregoire’s going to win, so you can kiss my Democratic, one-degree-havin’ ass.
As I explained in another post, I have a B.A. undergraduate degree with a major in one subject, and enough classes to qualify for a major in history also. I didn’t bother to list history as a second major because (a) there was an extra fee involved if I did, and I didn’t have the money at the time, and (b) there was no economic advantage to having a double major in history (I wasn’t planning to teach at the time). I was already accepted into grad school, so what was the point?
So I say I have a degree in one subject, but my paper from the University only says that I have a “Bachelor of Arts Degree with High Honors”. It doesn’t say anything about my declared major, or the equal number of classes I took in my “undeclared major”, history.
So I’m not particularly impressed with this as being a major disqualifying issue from Darcy, especially coming from supporters of hers who won’t recognize that Reichart didn’t really catch the Green River Killer – he actually directed the investigation away from him while he had a chance to catch him, and only happened to be Sheriff when somebody else in the department had the foresight to send out DNA samples again for re-testing.
