    Took Paid Time Off and went to Seafair. Live in the neighborhood, but not as close as I used to. If I was still at tge old place, would have been hard to get to work anyway, as Metro pretty much disables Rt50 as an alternative on Genesse Street during the event. If this was the old 39 bus of 30 years ago, wouldn’t blame them, that route after 6 didn’t run west of the VA, and only ran hourly on that truncated route 11-6 on Sundays. I would not have routed LINK to Genessee Park, because of the cost, for an event that may not be around much longer. There was supposed to be one more H1 Unlimited race this season, but San Diego abruptly canceled. Of tge legacy races on the circuit, that leaves us, Tri Cities, and Madison.

    Maybe the Airshow and car show segments will survive, Fleet Week definitely will. Remember, Seattle Fleet Week has been around so long, the USS Arizona used to participate in it.

    I think a synthesized analysis of all the things we see Republicans working very hard to achieve, and I do believe that they have such goals, can be simply expressed.

    They want the freedom to hate, and the authority to put that hate into meaningful action.

    They want to hate the poor and they want to punish the poor for their poverty.

    They want to hate non-whites and they want to define non-white’s right to exist in terms of their willingness to strive to be “whiter”.

    They want to hate everything that isn’t overtly, heterosexually “masculine” or in service to that idea of “masculinity”. And they want to suppress, and punish every other conception or expression of sexuality.

    They want “zero sum”. They want all of society’s institutions and norms defined in terms of naked competition, instead of cooperation, with a set of basic rules that automatically favor wealthier white males.

One could argue that a November debate instead of a September debate means two more months for Joe Biden’s senility to manifest itself publicly, and two more months of document release proving The Biden Crime Family corruption and treason.

    It shouldn’t be the audience, although I would prefer Newsom’s approach of no audience. I’m sure Newsom fears a repeat of the audience that CNN pemitted into Trump’s interview earlier this year. Doesn’t make Newsom a pussy. But I think Newsom would fear an audience even if CNN was hosting the debate, which arguably would make him a pussy.

    Oberlin College sues 4 insurance companies over Gibsons Bakery settlement

    They knew what they were doing was wrong.

    The verdict and damages stemmed from the aftermath of student protests over the arrest of Oberlin College student Jonathan Aladin in November 2016. Aladin tried to buy wine from the bakery with a fake ID, was chased out of the store and assaulted clerk Allyn Gibson — the son and grandson of its owners.

    Different versions of what happened outside the store after Aladin ran and Allyn Gibson chased him persist, but Aladin and fellow students Endia Lawrence and Cecilia Whettstone were arrested by Oberlin police. Aladin initially faced a felony robbery charge that was later dismissed.

    All three students later pleaded guilty to misdemeanor attempted theft and aggravated trespassing, and Aladin to an additional charge of purchasing alcohol underage. They served no jail time and read statements in court that Allyn Gibson had the right to pursue them after the attempted theft and that his actions weren’t racist.

    They did it anyway. To take down a business which was merely trying to prevent theft by Oberlin students.

    Following the arrests, Oberlin College students protested outside the bakery for two days. They handed out flyers that alleged a long history of racism at the bakery. Raimondo was accused of supporting student protesters during the drama, including helping to hand out flyers.

    The Gibsons sued in 2017 after college officials refused to apologize or issue a statement saying the family wasn’t racist.

    No evidence of racism by the Gibsons or the bakery was presented during the 2019 civil trial. Instead, Gibsons employees and community members testified the Gibsons weren’t racist. Other evidence presented at trial included text messages and emails by Oberlin College officials mocking the bakery and its products and threatening to “rain fire and brimstone” on the business.

    Blue Angels didn’t disappoint, we’re able to pull off the High routine.

    Wished for traffic mitigation, Metro provided the shuttle buses. Starline’s charter buses are not suitable for an event like tris. When you need to load and go, multiple door boarding is good. An XDE60 has between two outgrew doors., can fill up fast, and drop off fast, Before Metro had to stop, they were running the shuttles out of Columbia City Station, worked great. I no longer live next to Genessee Park, but still in the neighborhood, traffic was still pretty hectic on Rainier after the event. Can’t wait until 2 line is fully operable, going to probably see a lot of people when the Blue Angels are up, only going betweenMercer Island and Judkins Park. The 2 line is one of the reasons the Flightbox for the Air Show shifted, to allow for no more I-90 closures.

In the years that followed Shokin moved the case around to various internal jurisdictions in Ukraine while the parliament of Ukraine revised the public corruption and asset seizure statutes. During these revisions Shokin took advantage of a transition to seize family assets of Zlochevsky in a way that permitted the unfreezing of $23 million in frozen Zlochevsky assets in the UK and that also resulted in the seizure of family assets to be rescinded by the statutory changes. This corrupt scheme also involved further changes of jurisdiction and reassignment of the criminal case.

    By February of 2016 the Obama administration’s patience was gone and then Vice President Biden was assigned to convey to them President Poroshenko the urging of the US to remove the corrupt Prosecutor General so that the criminal case could proceed unhindered. On February 18th Poroshenko requested Shokin’s resignation. On February 19th Poroshenko announced it had been received.

    Soon thereafter the criminal cases against Zlochevsky moved forward. And by 2017 additional charges had been presented. At that point Zlochevsky fled to Monaco and the criminal case against him remains stalled awaiting diplomatic efforts to obtain his extradition.
