Robinhood Dumbfuck Rabbit doesn’t own Berkshire Hathaway shares.

Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway posts nearly $40 billion profit

Wall Street has rewarded Berkshire for its strong results. The company is now valued at nearly $715 billion, and its stock is not far from its all-time high. Berkshire is up 7% this year while the broader market has fallen, as investors have flocked to value stocks as safe havens.

Two reasons: 1) He can’t invest in a stock with a share price as high as Berkshire Hathaway’s shares trade. 2) He desperately needs the dividend income, and Berkshire Hathaway doesn’t pay a dividend.

Robinhood Dumbfuck Rabbit is a slave to the dividend, which hurt him when he held on to GE shares way, way too long because of the dividend it used to pay.

Leave it to feckless Joe Biden to offer Zelensky the coward’s way out.

Rejecting US evacuation offer, Zelensky says I need anti-tank ammo, ‘not a ride’

A US official confirms Ukraine President Volodymyr rejected an offer from the American government to evacuate Kyiv.

A senior American intelligence official with direct knowledge of the conversation quoted the president as saying that “the fight is here” and that he needed anti-tank ammunition but “not a ride.”

Zelensky’s whereabouts were being kept secret after told European leaders in a call Thursday that he was Russia’s No. 1 target — and that they might not see him again alive. His office later released a video of him standing with senior aides outside the presidential office and saying that he and other government officials would stay in the capital.

This isn’t some right-wing rag’s report. It’s from Associated Press.

There are hundreds of Americans still stranded in Afghanistan who would gladly accept a ride out of town, Mr. President, but you abandoned them to the Taliban.

Massive fraud in a MN non-profit that was supposed to feed hungry kids.

Investigators probe alleged fraud involving over $240 million in federal child nutrition dollars

You know the story. Huge financial inflows, followed swiftly by enrichment of friends of the nonprofit directors via shell corporations. Laundered money used to buy real estate, luxury items, vehicles for personal use.

Investigators said that according to a review of bank records, those involved in the alleged arrangement laundered federal nutrition funds through multiple pass-through companies and used the money to purchase property, cars, and travel.

“The companies and their owners received tens of millions of dollars in federal funds for use in providing nutrition meals to underprivileged children and adults,” wrote the agent who filed the search warrant application. After its approval, FBI raided Feeding Our Future’s offices last Thursday. “Almost none of this was used to feed children.”

You know the story. Don’t you.

In 2019, the organization handled $3.4 million in federal nutrition funds; in 2020, that value was $42 million; in 2021, it reached $200 million.

It was so brazen that when the state caught on and froze the disbursements, these POS scammers sued the state.

Feeding Our Future first raised eyebrows in the fall of 2020, when the Minnesota Department of Education, which administers federal nutrition programs at the state level, terminated a handful of its sites, and put a pause on new applications over concerns about its auditing and bookkeeping processes. In response, Feeding Our Future sued the agency, and accused it of denying “thousands of qualified children in low-income and minority communities” much-needed food. The education agency resumed processing applications after a judge’s order, but not before reaching out to federal investigators about its suspicions of potential fraud.

So the state dropped a dime.

The fraudulent nonprofit will dissolve. And then some.

Oh. Not involved in the prosecution: Keith X. He was too busy receiving campaign contributions from the scammers.

Republican National Committee reactions to the nomination of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson so far:

Biden’s Supreme Court nominee, Ketanji Brown Jackson, is a radical, left-wing activist who will rubber stamp Biden’s failed agenda

Ketanji Brown Jackson is a Democrat partisan who will put far-left special interests ahead of defending the liberties of Americans.

Ketanji Brown Jackson is a registered Democrat. She donated to Obama’s presidential campaign – and even worked for his campaign as a poll monitor.
In 2016, her husband donated $1,600 to Hillary Clinton’s campaign.

In her few short years on the bench, Ketanji Brown Jackson has repeatedly ruled against conservative policies.

This would be a very good time to point out that these statements are very good examples of “ordinary people engaging in legitimate political discourse”, as opposed to say, planting pipe bombs in public spaces, repeatedly stabbing a police officer in the neck with an illegally modified taser and trying to assassinate the Vice President.

Biden’s presidency has already done so much economic damage to Americans that he can’t risk hitting Russia with the most severe of possible sanctions, because they will also further harm Americans.

Press Briefing by Press Secretary Jen Psaki, February 25, 2022

Q And why are you guys waiting to apply maximum pressure on Russia with — you know, sanctions on everything? It doesn’t seem — you know, are you guys waiting for Kyiv to fall? Or (inaudible)?

MS. PSAKI: Sanctions on everything? How do you mean?

Q In — like sanctions on all Russian — you know, all Russian transactions and on oil and gas. Sort of — like do you think that Americans are not willing to take a hit at the gas pump?

MS. PSAKI: Well — well, I would say there’s a couple of principles through which the President has approached sanctions. One is maximizing the impact on Russian leadership and on the Russ- — Russian financial system so that there will be a particular squeeze.

We’ve obviously taken steps already that have gone far and above what have ever been done — what has ever been done in the past. If you look at just 10 — the 10 financial institutions that we sanctioned, they hold a — you know, a huge percentage of — they are about 80 percent of the Russian banking sector. That is a significant step that was announced yesterday.

The export controls step that was announced yesterday means that they will be — they won’t have the ability to get access to the technology that — and semiconductors and AI — that President Putin desperately wants to continue to innovate his economy moving forward.

There’s also — of course, Europeans are also looking at — European countries are also looking at some of their reliance on Russia, whether it’s for energy or other purposes, and they’re making their own decisions about diversifying.

And as I noted a little bit earlier, the Ruble remains about 10 percent weaker year to date and the worst-performing emerging market currency in the world.

So, what should be clear here is that there are already huge impacts. There is already an enormous squeeze on the Russian financial system and economy.

What we are also — what the President is also focused on as a principle is not — is taking steps and making sure we are minimizing the impact on the American people, on the global economic system. And we, of course, weigh that, as we have a responsibility to do. And we want to, first and foremost — I should have said this first — take these steps, united with our partners and Allies in Europe.

Robinhood Dumbfuck Rabbit has to watch his pennies, you see. Better keep gas at $5/gallon rather than doing something good for the world that might mean gas goes to $7/gallon.

’cause more inflation would be even worse for Democrats, come November.

    More recusal crap.

Apart from the messaging dust up, Jackson will also face ethics and recusal questions related to a lawsuit that alleges that Harvard discriminates against Asian students in admissions. The High Court will hear that case later this year, and the plaintiffs are urging the justices to ban consideration of race in college admissions altogether.

Jackson serves on Harvard’s Board of Overseers, one of the university’s two governing boards. The board plays “an integral role in the governance of the university,” through quality control, strategic advice, and external assessments of various departments, according to Harvard’s website.

Assuming her nomination is successful, I hope she doesn’t recuse. If the point of a different lived experience is to affect decisions such as this, it should be problematic that the newest AJ chooses to sit this one out.

Admittedly, it will go 6-3 or 5-4 against Harvard if she participates, so the result will likely not change. But I’d like to see AJ Thomas take one side and AJ Brown Jackson the other side in non-majority opinions.

    Oh. I almost forgot:

Alexandria, Virginia; February 25, 2022: Today, a federal judge ruled that Fairfax County school officials violated the law by changing admissions requirements at the nation’s top public school to deliberately reduce the number of Asian-American students enrolled.
    …
Until last year, admission to TJ was race-blind and merit-based; requirements included a standardized test, grade-point average, completion of certain math classes, and teacher recommendations. Last year, the Fairfax County Public Schools’ board and superintendent adopted an admissions policy aimed at balancing the racial groups at TJ by eliminating the admissions test, guaranteeing seats for 1.5 percent of each middle school’s eighth grade class, and awarding bonus points for various factors such as attendance at a middle school previously underrepresented at TJ. The intended result: dramatically reducing the number of Asian-American students admitted to TJ.

    20,
Do you think an air superiority fighter is what Ukraine really needs in the short term? Or even the long term?

I’m asking seriously because I don’t really know enough about this kind of conflict. I know Russian tanks could be useless in Ukrainian cities and may put infantry at risk. Periscopes and targeting arrays can be taken out with rifle fire from close sniper positions available in an urban environment. Thermal imaging can be fooled using cardboard boxes and sheets of plywood. A 50 ton main battle tank can’t safely drive down many city streets without detailed maps of underground utilities, vaults, and transit tunnels. Dinner plates spray painted flat grey and tossed face down into the street are all but indistinguishable from AT mines when viewed through a dirty periscope in bad weather (or even through a clean periscope on a sunny day if you drank the night before).

I don’t really know enough about the uses of air power in a conflict like this except as a means to simply level a city (or a portion of it). Somehow I doubt that would be beneficial to a strategy of long term occupation. And my understanding of air superiority fighters is that they are accompanied by a massive logistical and support burden.

Zelensky asked for ammo. Not airborne delivery systems.

Biden has authorized funds, but that takes time. What could be available nearly immediately is weaponry that the US has already delivered to eastern European partners, which could be passed on to the Ukraine military. That’s apparently problematic for two reasons:

    1. There are, understandably, many restrictions on further transfer of munitions, lest they end up in the hands of undesirables. Overriding those restrictions takes a lot of time.

    2. With Russia moving westward, there will be increasingly less willingness on the part of eastern European nations to give up arms that First Vegetable Joe Biden might not be willing to replace.

Biden’s a coward and everyone knows it by now. Bird in the hand.

Here’s what Biden did: Armed Ukraine, mobilized our allies, slapped tougher sanctions on Russia.

What your Orange Traitor did: Blackmailed Ukraine, turned his back on NATO, tried to ease sanctions on his Russian bankers.

Really, doc, you shouldn’t bring this up at all because you and your faction’s credibility on Putin, Russia, and Ukraine is already in the toilet and can only flush farther downhill from there.

@9, @11 – I saw that poll, too. I’d like to know how the U.S. response could be stronger without sending in American troops. Biden said he wouldn’t do that, and explicitly added the reason was Russia’s nukes. He reads classified briefings not accessible to that 62% of voters (who happen to be most concentrated in the GOP, a group that also believes the 2020 election was “stolen” and Hillary Clinton runs a pedophile operation in the basement of a pizza parlor that doesn’t have a basement).

But let’s pull this apart a little. We know Putin is paranoid, and not entirely calculating. We know he despises, and quite possibly fears, having NATO on his borders. We also know his #1 reason for invading Ukraine is to keep that country out of NATO forever. Now what happens if NATO troops go into Ukraine to kill Russians?

Without knowing (I haven’t seen the briefings either), but I would guess, that in such instance the odds of Putin using tactical nukes go much higher than 50-50. And the odds of hurling some of those nukes at NATO rear-area airfields, resupply, and command bases are probably at least 50-50.

Not all of Putin’s nuclear threats are empty threats. We probably would use our nukes against what we perceived as an existential threat. Putin almost certainly would view NATO intervention in Ukraine as an existential threat.

I would rate the chances of Biden being wrong about this (not sending in U.S. or NATO troops) as being very low.

So, doc, and all you Republicans calling him “weak,” what do you want him to do, that he isn’t doing? He’s already impose every sanction our allies agreed to, and he sees keeping the alliance united against Russia, and preventing Putin from exploiting NATO internal divisions, as top priority.

Against that, you have what? Trump’s empty bleating while trying to eviscerate NATO? And a flock of bleating sheep aiding Russia by publicly calling the U.S. president “weak” instead of rallying behind him?

You and Republican voters* are either very stupid, or very disloyal, or both.

    * Yes, I know the 62% includes a few Democrats. In response, I’m forced to admit some Democrats are weak-minded. But I would add that Republicans are so bad even the most weak-minded Democrats won’t vote for them.

Gamma radiation levels are elevated in Chernobyl. The terrestrial Cs-137 (and to less extent Cs-134) is being stirred up by the heavy military equipment, causing the increased radiation levels.

    From Ukraine’s NRC:

As previously reported, the control levels of gamma radiation dose rate in the Exclusion zone were exceeded.

Experts of the Ecocenter connect this with disturbance of the top layer of soil from movement of a large number of radio heavy military machinery through the Exclusion zone and increase of air pollution.

The condition of Chernobyl nuclear facilities and other facilities is unchanged.

It’s being reported in the US press as a radiation “spike”. I haven’t seen numeric data. Unable to dispute or confirm.

The I-131 released by the Chernobyl explosion pretty much no longer exists. Half-life of I-131 is 8 days or so. Half-life of Cs-134 is about 2 years. Half-life of Cs-137 is 30 years. What’s left and still emitting is largely Cs-137 based on half-life differences, I assume.

If only I knew as much about radiation as Robinhood Dumbfuck Rabbit does.

But 40-year-high inflation leads his headaches: Americans are twice as likely to say they’re worse off than better off under his presidency, by 35-17%

The result: A career-low 37% of Americans approve of Biden’s job performance overall, with 55% disapproving.
    …
Biden’s fortunes in turn spell trouble for his party in this poll, produced for ABC by Langer Research Associates. Republican congressional candidates have a 49-42% advantage over Democrats among registered voters, widening to 54-41% among those who say they both are registered and certain to vote in November.

The result among registered voters is very similar to what it was in November, 51-41% — as reported at the time, the largest Republican lead in midterm election vote preferences in ABC/Post polls dating back 40 years. In the new data, among independents who are registered to vote — often swing voters — GOP candidates lead by 14 points.

Turns out that inflation, silly mandates, and weakness on the world stage aren’t a good look to any voter with a backbone. Who knew?

Be prepared for Poutine to attempt to false flag the use of low-yield nukes.

He knew all this, yet he took the job anyway, and all he got was one damn thing after another and a ruined reputation.

While Putin gets headlines by putting his nukes on “alert.” You can expect several things to happen first, as his panic and hysteria deepen. Like the severing of subsea fiber cables, possibly (if desperate) blowing up anti-satellite weapons in Earth orbit. Possibly sleeper cell sabotage in the Baltics.
His biggest problem though… is that many, many Russians, including his troops… have alternative ways to seeing the monstrous nature of his lies. Obedience is going to be a problem, if this stretches on for any length of time.

    127,
    I really don’t think so.

I believe Poutine really sees opposition and confrontation with the west to be both existential and practical. I don’t think he’s at all interested in guiding The Russian Federation into global engagement diplomatically or economically in any way. That being said, I also don’t think he’s looking to create an new opportunity to strengthen and unify NATO, the EU, or any other regional and global alliances. Nor does he want to trigger any expansion of the present conflict beyond the borders of Ukraine if he can help it.

So I don’t think he’s considering anything that could be perceived as directly attacking NATO or EU members. I think he simply sees a binary choice where Ukraine is concerned. Either he makes Ukraine into a puppet state under his control, or Ukraine inevitably slides into NATO and the EU. And the latter outcome is unacceptable to his concept of Russia’s security in a way that is non-negotiable.

You are claiming that average Ukrainian shoe salesmen also keep fully automatic AKs with bayonets and launch rails in their hall closets? 100,000 citizen reserves are activated and then issued equipment and uniforms. Automatic is not allowed. Hand gun ownership is strictly limited and only for target sport use. Concealed carry is not a thing at all.

Ukraine is not Montana or some farm collective that lives in your movie-fed imagination. It’s a sophisticated post-industrial European economy with 40 million people and the largest land mass in Europe. It needs either membership in NATO or membership in the EU so it can provide for it’s own defense.
