    Pretty much, yeah.

There are numerous objective findings that fault police. The resignations and suicides are because those at fault knew what would be learned once the investigations began.

Over nearly three full decades of rising right wing domestic terrorism, with major domestic terrorist attacks like Oklahoma City, Waco, Olympic Park, Sikh Temple, Dylann Roof, and GOP Deathcar, the Republican Party has fought every effort to organize, centralize, and coordinate federal law enforcement efforts to track right wing domestic terror networks.

They fought with all their might to protect the deadly cancer growing in our communities.

Because they had plans to make use of it.

Interesting, isn’t it, that QoS McHillbilly has no interest in fatality trends involving inner city residents in cities under total or near-total Democrat control.

Instead he reaches back 25 years or more for events, and attempts to tie them to…

What, exactly? A riot in which the only intentional fatality was by a cop, via a shooting that was not subject to proper investigation?

The reason nobody misses Deathfrogg is that QoS McHillbilly has done such a good job mimicking him.

Graph those incidents according to date and casualties,

    Impossible.

Because prior to this year, Republicans in Congress blocked the legislation that would have enabled the DOJ to compile these statistics.

“The reason nobody” can cite fatality statistics for right wing domestic terror events is because “conservative” Republicans in Congress going all the way back to Newt Gingrich, along with right wing media and even trolls here at HA have fought to prevent that (recall that only a short time ago the performative troll idiot “Bob” declared that only “fat grandmothers and tourists” took part in the Jan 6 attack).

The greedy racist incel lies as usual.
    Agents of Trump delaying support.

    November 9:
Trump fires Secretary of Defense Mark Esper and replaces him with Christopher C. Miller as acting Secretary.

    Monday, January 4, 2021
Secretary of Defense Miller issued orders which prohibited deploying D.C. Guard members with weapons, helmets, body armor or riot control agents without his personal approval.[71]

    Tuesday, January 5, 2021
Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund holds a teleconference with top law enforcement and military officials from D.C., including the FBI, U.S. Secret Service and the National Guard; Sund later wrote no entity provided any intelligence indicating that there would be a coordinated violent attack on the United States Capitol by thousands of well-equipped armed insurrectionists.

    Wednesday, January 6, 2021
    1:05 p.m.:
Acting Secretary of Defense Miller receives open source intelligence reports of demonstrators moving towards the U.S. Capitol.

3:04 p.m.: Secretary Miller, with advice from senior Defense leadership, formally approves “activation” of the 1,100 soldiers in the DCNG. Army Secretary McCarthy orders the DCNG to begin full “mobilization”. Despite this, Miller “did not approve an operational plan to deploy the National Guard to the Capitol until 4:32 p.m

Miller testified that he was concerned in the days before Jan. 6 that sending National Guard troops to Washington would “fan fears of a military coup” or that “Trump advisers were advocating martial law”.

He gave the domestic terrorists time to succeed if they could, before he allowed the guard to move in.

And you get no push back from me that the Mayor of DC was wrong when she was not prophetic and she didn’t ask for more troops ahead of time. She thought support would be forthcoming if needed.

Gen. William J. Walker, Piatt critically delayed or ignored Sund’s request for National Guard support, stating, “I don’t like the visual of the National Guard standing a police line with the Capitol in the background”, despite this being a stark contrast to the protests of the previous year.

    How comforting.

I suspect, though, this assertion would fall apart if you counted every Capitol rioter who assaulted cops, and especially if you added in every rightwing terrorist who has threatened an election worker, and/or the thousands of anti-maskers who’ve threatened or assaulted flight attendants.

No, I don’t agree that rightwing terrorism is declining. The only way you can get there is by defining terrorism out of existence.

@19 “a shooting that was not subject to proper investigation”

Let’s skip over your implicit defending of a terrorist who was killed by police while engaging in criminal activity and go right to the question of “proper investigation”:

“Following the routine process for shootings by Capitol Police officers, the Metropolitan Police Department of the District of Columbia and the United States Department of Justice investigated Babbitt’s death and made a determination that the shooting was ‘lawful and within Department policy’.”

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shooting_of_Ashli_Babbitt#Investigation

Noteworthy about this police shooting is that (1) the perp was shot only once, not a dozen, four dozen, or 100 times, (2) the police did not do an end zone dance after shooting her, and (3) the police immediately attempted to render medical aid instead of standing around picking their noses while waiting for the (usually black) shooting victim to die.

In other words, this one was an actual perp, shot by professional police acting within training and policy, in actual self-defense, with good and sufficient legal justification.

As crime rates rise ahead of the midterms, Black mayors of the nation’s largest cities are leading the call to crack down on lawlessness.

As violent crime surges ahead of the November midterms, President Joe Biden and the Democratic Party are toughening their talk on crime, and refunding the police only two years after some progressive activists took up the call to defund them.

“People are still against crime and people want to be safe,” said former Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter in an interview. “You’re seeing in communities all across the country that when folks actually came to grips with the conflict of rising crime rates and an effort to quote unquote take away from policing, the public, being way ahead of the politicians as usual, figured out ‘no no no, that’s not a good idea, we want to be safe.’”

    68,
    It’s a seriously flawed story.

I would not expect you to even be capable of the analysis required.

But its removal from a required curriculum reading list opens space for works of equal literary merit not burdened by Mockingbird’s crippling flaws.

By some estimates there are about 5 million English language novels published, and of course a great many more translations. I’m quite sure that scholars of English literature can recommend fantastic alternatives. And they’d certainly be better suited to that task than any degenerate, lying blog troll who spends most of his time counting imaginary earnings and masturbating to horse porn.

And fight the urge to think of this as a “ban”. It isn’t. Students may only have so much time in any given academic year to devote to reading literature. Some will devote more. Others, like you, will instead devote their time to pointlessly pining for a celebrity sports career you could never really have. The point is, any one of them can still find Mockingbird in the school library waiting for them. They are still free to select it as an elective text. And all the decade’s worth of support materials celebrating it will remain.

Given enough time and expanded perspective, eventually Mockingbird can be placed in its proper context and appreciated for what it is. And also for what it is not.
And certainly what it is not is an insightful exploration of the emerging issues of racial inequality in a small southern town of the Great Depression. If you even ever bothered to read it (instead of merely watching the film) and you came away thinking that, you missed some very significant plot and character details.

    77,
    You get it.

The word is not and never has been the issue with Mockingbird.

Here’s one suggested path to insight about the novel and its approach to the fate of its Black characters: What happens to Tom Robinson in the end, and how is his fate treated by the author?

By the end of the novel, Scout and Jem may lose a little bit of their childhood innocence. But Lee is very careful to preserve most of the reader’s innocence about racial justice. Seventeen bullets. “After all, if Aunty could be a lady at a time like this, so could I.”

Personally, I don’t think the problem with Mockingbird is with the novel itself. I think the real problem lies in the way most white people think about it and teach it.

The House committee has now learned that White House officials both shredded and burned some of the subpoenaed records relating to President Trump’s efforts and the efforts of others to pressure the Vice President into disrupting the electoral vote count. The records destruction appears to be part of a much larger, ongoing pattern of records destruction routinely practiced by the White House during Trump’s four years.

Who ordered the destruction of those records, when it was ordered, and which records were destroyed may result in more referrals for prosecution.
Preservation of presidential records is required by law. And while the knowing, intentional destruction of such records is itself a crime, it’s one that probably can’t be prosecuted. Obstruction of justice is a crime however that can be prosecuted. And very frequently is in such cases.

Prior to the terror attack on Jan 6, there were already a number of federal court orders to the White House for records preservation arising from lawsuits as well the first impeachment investigation. Subsequent to Jan 6 additional orders had been issued. A separate investigation will now have to be undertaken to determine which if any of those orders were violated, by whom, and for what purpose. Because it is specifically a criminal investigation relating to violations of court orders, and because many of the records intentionally destroyed related to legal matters outside the House committee inquiry, it may require the appointment of a special counsel by the Attorney General.

For the most part, large, prosperous, well educated, healthy, progressive states like New York turn redistricting over to either independent non partisan or bipartisan commissions. While beer drunk, pig ignorant, backward, rural red state sewers retain control of redistricting efforts within the confines of the dank, fetid, historically inbred, superstitious Klan lodges they call “legislatures”. By doing so we give the fucking game away before the first kickoff.

I know that the greedy racist incel is going to whatabout BLM! and ANTIFA!. They were not waving confederate and nazi flags. I condemn the property damage done by the rioters after the rallies. Republicans cant do EVEN that.

98)Saw many Canadians on Twitter say that money should not be returned. It should go towards the clean up. At least other cities learned. In Toronto to protect hospitals they used TTC busses as barricades. I would have used TTC Streetcars as rolling barricades. Many were saying that the truckers should at least be ticketed for all the city regulations they had been breaking. In Toronto, one extra one besides the no-idling, passing a streetcar on the right while the streetcar is stopped . It’s a legacy system, tracks in the center lanes, passengers waiting on the curb. They got cameras on board now.

Right now watching the Seattle Seawolves play the Toronto Arrows in MLR. Games in Tukwilla, only loud horns blaring will be train horns, and AMTK508 hasn’t left Portland yet.

@97 They’re accusing GoFundMe of fraud, but they don’t have a case if GoFundMe returns the donations to the donors. At one point, GoFundMe floated the possibility of distributing some of the donated funds to other charities. DeSantis and the GOP AGs claim that’s fraud, although legally that’s a very questionable argument given that GoFundMe never intended to mislead donors but instead is reacting to a change of situation. What the GOP saber-rattlers are really upset about, though, is GoFundMe not passing those donations on to Confederates, Nazis, and thugs.

@99 GoFundMe can’t do that. It’s not their money to spend as they like. That money is still the property of the donors. GoFundMe possesses those funds as a fiduciary, not the owner. To legally access those funds and divert them to a different purpose than the donors intended would require a court order. You’d have to sue the donors, get a judgment against them, then attach the funds belonging to them in GoFundMe’s possession to enforce the judgment. This is not a workable scenario, because the donors have no legal liability for the actions of the truckers. You simply can’t make them pay for the damages caused by the truckers. I doubt GoFundMe can be forced to release those donations to the truckers, but if they don’t, they have to return them to the donors. If the donors can’t be located, the money is supposed to be turned over to a state unclaimed property repository (like Washington has), so I don’t think they have an option to give it to other charities without the donors’ permission. The AGs could have a case against GoFundMe if the latter doesn’t follow these procedures. But, as I said, I don’t think they can force GoFundMe to send the donations on to the truckers. GoFundMe probably has a legal right to withdraw from providing their services.

What they have in Ottawa right now is…

a whole lot of Proud Boys swapping semen behind the dumpsters, flashing Nazi salutes, and smashing Kokanee bottles in homeless people’s faces.

    Oh Canada.

This is fucking payback for Gavin McInnes.

101)Tough spot for GoFundMe to be in. Seen some say they are biased because they didn’t do this with BLM. Surprised the Republican AGs haven’t sued the City of Ottawa, but that would be International law, and thought they don’t like that.

As for the Major League Rugby game, Seattle beat Toronto. Feel sorry for the Arrows, because they have not played at home in about a 1000 days because of this pandemic. The 2020 season was canceled, and border restrictions prevented them from playing in Canada in 2021, as they are the only team in the league from Canada. Love the sport, it’s what both Americans and Canadian Football were adapted from. Before downs, pads, and what saved the American game from being outlawed in its infancy, the Forward Pass. Seattle sports fans sure can fill almost any stadium, but then again Starfire Stadium isn’t that big.

Ottawa Police have made a move against the Convoys fuel supply. Going to be a lot of big rigs needing towing. Not sure how much longer they could idle. Big Rigs usually have 2×125 gallon tanks, unless they are ice road rigs, those usually have bigger tanks. Although they should be out on the ice this time of year.

During an interview with Doc Greene, a self-described conservative activist radio show host, Graft described the moment her daughter encountered “This Day in June” by Gayle Pitman.

“She picked it up, turned to the page and showed it to me, and I was appalled,” Graft said. “There were political issues. Signs like love over hate, equal rights, things that a child certainly can’t understand.”

She continued, “They have an agenda and an indoctrination for our children. It’s not enough to tolerate. They want us to participate. And they want our children.”

“If you’re not willing to kill for what you believe, you’ve already lost the war. Our children are worth saving,” said Greene, who did not respond to requests for comment.

    Shocking.
    So criminal.
    So corrupt.
    So APPALLING.

Willfully shredding and stealing vital government records and other documents from her HIS time in office.

There can be no other option than to launch eleven separate investigations spanning four years by six House committees, two Senate committees, and three Executive branch agencies costing $50 million. Obviously.

    BENGHAAAAAAZIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!

Even a single vote for a single “conservative” candidate is a vote to destroy democracy in America.

    107,
For almost precisely the same reason they demand that legal marriage be denied to same sex couples they’ve never even met in order to “protect” their own marriages.

    Bigotry is not rational.
Every attempt ever at describing or justifying bigotry in terms of reason has always suffered fatal flaws.

It is for this reason that White bigot Karens attacking school boards have chosen to define their crusade in terms of their own feeeeeelings. If any subject they choose is said to be “hurtful” to their feeeeeelings or to the feeeeelings of their precious little mini-bigots, then it can be banned. IT SHALL BE BANNED!

And how dare you attack them for their feeeeeelings?

After all, Karen is a “Christian”! /s
