Democrats have their faults and foibles of course. But the modern era Democratic Party has not made a treasonous pact with Russian dictators and oligarchs and shored up their political base with domestic terrorists and church bombers.
It is not for Democrats to make concessions to these monsters and their enablers. We owe them nothing. All they have ever done is tear things down or blow them up. It is up to the “moderate” EEEN-DEEE-PEN-DUNCE to recognize their folly, own up to their biggest ever mistake, and make the needed concessions to pluralism and modernity. Time’s up. Fifty years was all they were ever going to get. It’s now or never. Within minutes of photos and videos of the #TrumpCar attack being posted all over social media, Hillbilly-Traitor-Murderers were deploying thousands of curated and robotic accounts to spread disinformation about the right wing terrorist attack. Trending themes are:
-innocent and sadly fatal car accident caused by rioting antifas;
-National Guard deployed with water cannons to disperse antifas interfering with EMTs trying to aid car accident victims;
-innocent motorist set upon by rioting antifas flees for his life and is taken into protective police custody;
-antifa false flag operation goes awry resulting in multiple injuries;
-antifa crisis actors stage fake accident to discredit Fuckface.
The ferment around these themes and others like them is enormous right now. On a global scale feeds, inboxes, and messaging queues are overflowing with this stuff at this very second. It’s basically all about mass and volume in service to political objectives. The alt-Right reality being created out of aspiration and intention with absolutely no tethering to verifiable reality.

If you look into who these people actually are* (as opposed to the characters they play), both alt-right and alt-lite, it quickly becomes very clear that they have absolutely no right to consider themselves “disaffected”. That term is merely more coded language. Being white males from fairly affluent backgrounds, they know it would be preposterous to claim they are “disadvantaged”. Like most white males from stable, racially and economically uniform communities they grew up being called upon and listened to in school, granted lots of opportunities to learn and experience beyond the classroom, consoled, coached, and excused when they misbehaved, and perhaps most importantly treated as the default normal set in each and every social situation. As millennials (and please pardon me for the stereotype, but honestly) they were raised in a near constant embrace of praise, approval, and ratification. For most of them their ideological transformation (red pilled, woke, swole) began during adolescence and accelerated in early adulthood as they were confronted with social norms of wider, pluralistic society in conflict with the expectations inculcated in their upbringing. Whether passed over for some social recognition in favor of those they consider inferior, awkwardly rejected sexually, or simply compelled to wait their turn or listen and learn before declaring their expertise, they began to grapple with the frustration of being occasionally denied the privileged status they had been brought up to expect. Through the magical bubble forming influences of internet self-affiliation this denial of special privilege in wider social settings, although they do not recognize it as such, became the animating feature of their adult identities. Their movement is a population-scale case study in what David Foster Wallace called “a banal platitude” – that the most obvious important realities are often the ones that are the hardest to see and talk about. At the risk of being trite, they are fish, denying the existence of water.
*I very highly recommend this to anyone over the age of 40. These people and their ideas have infiltrated into a wide range of social, cultural, government, and private positions of influence and authority. They are not a whacko fringe. They will not be going away any time soon.

“She was Fat and a Drain on Society. Despite feigned outrage by the media, most people are glad she is dead, as she is the definition of uselessness. A 32-year-old woman without children is a burden on society and has no value.
Due to female privilege, and the fact that they do virtually nothing their entire lives, women live an average of 5 years longer than men. The average female lifespan is 81 years. That means for 49 more years, this fat slob would have been leeching off of men’s work.
Childless women are black hole vortexes of public money and energy.
Had she not died yesterday, hundreds of thousands of dollars would have been spent on propping-up this gross creature who had failed to do her most basic duty – her only real duty, in fact – and reproduce.
Having no children at that age, it can be assumed that she had multiple abortions, and was thus herself a child murderer.”
There it is. The Republican Party in 2017.
Thank you, Fat Donny.
The first Amendment give them the right to speak, not anyone the right to counter their speech.
The Second Amendment gives them the right to use whatever means they believe necessary to defend themselves from the hordes of non-European savages invading their country. It gives them permission to murder. It does not grant permission to those hordes to use weapons under any circumstances.
Any Amendment to the Constitution after the 10th, was written by communists so they don’t count.
Young, disaffected while males indeed.
Odd thing; Several of the older men identified as attackers who were photographed or videoed attacking the counter-protesters are convicted felons who are not allowed to own firearms. One of them who was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon at the protests, was convicted and did hard Federal time for stealing rifles, handguns, ammunition and other military equipment from a National Guard Armory, and handing it over to a KKK faction in Florida.
If that is the scandal I recall from the mid-90s, most of those weapons were never recovered and are still out there somewhere. They included M40 grenade launchers, several M2 heavy machine guns and thousands of rounds of .50 caliber ammunition.
I’ve met several people over the last few years who have openly boasted of having similar stashes of ammunition and such in the hills around here. One guy, who I assume is really just full of shit but I’m not really sure about that, talked about hoarding bags of ammonium nitrate and claimed to have built up a stash of several tons of it.

Here’s something else to ponder.
When Trump came out and his first thoughts were, “violence from Many Sides, Many sides.”
He hunkered down for several hours before making comments. This should not have been off the cuff. He was constantly looking down at cue cards so this was a prepared statement.
His entire team was either so concerned about NOT denouncing American Neo-Nazis that they put “Many Sides” right up front or as a collective group they didn’t realize, “Hey by many sides does it seem like we’re defending open racists and the American Nazis? Maybe we should cut that line, at least for today?” Or both. One faction wanted to dog whistle to the Nazis (cherish our heritage, later in the remarks) and the other are a roomful of white people who are the manifestation of white privilege so it would never occur to them that the phrase is a problem.
Best regards? He really has lived a life of such isolation an that he doesn’t understand how any of this works.

So Fuckface gets out his red crayola and marks up the sheet with margin comments – “many sides”, “not Fuckface”, etc. – underlines passages for emphasis, circles the big words so Heather can look them up for him, draws a sad clown face and a few dick pics before folding it up and shoving it into his pocket.

Also worth noting, The Website Which Shall Not Be Named lost their host this morning after the host company was deluged with thousands of accounts threatening to move (including my own, as well as dozens of others I’m affiliated with) if they continued to service the Nazi terrorists.
Again, more of this. And it has to go beyond the Nazi/KKK terrorists.
Tee shirts, signs, and marches are nice. And I truly hope the victims and families are comforted by the thousands of candlelight vigils last night. But we need to recognize that turning out to counter-protest conservative racist terrorists is adding fuel to their fire. This fighting and murder is what they want. Actually, given the relatively small numbers and low status of childless single males who habitually masturbate to anime porn actually willing to don batting helmets and SS uniforms and lose their retail clerking and trucking jobs in the process, the violence is what they need. It feeds their movement in both numbers and in cash.
We have to step up and confront this shit more directly but also more intelligently. Do a little basic research. Learn exactly who you are doing business with. Fire that employee with the Odin cross tat, or racist FB page. Do it now. Post-document the file if you need to. But guess what? You won’t. These people are not members of protected classes. They can be terminated at will for any reason at all, or most importantly no reason. Go with no reason. That’s the safe bet. Cancel vendor contracts with the companies that support racist domestic terrorism. There really are good alternatives to Uline. Get with it. Even though our country isn’t perfect, and our society needs more improving, I’d rather live under this flag than any other flag, and I’d rather stand for “The Star Spangled Banner” than any other anthem (although “Le Marseilles” is a lovely, catchy tune; it has a foreign appeal in the same way that French pastry and Italian pasta does).
Dealing with this conundrum is made somewhat easier by the sheer hypocrisy of some who claim to stick up for the flag. E.g., Michelle Manhart comes to mind. Kicked out of the Air Force, took money for posing with American flag wrapped around her nude body, etc., she is in no position to lecture others about “patriotism” and respecting the flag as a symbol of our country.

When people like her pretending to stick up for the flag actually serve under the flag, instead of merely exploiting it (cf. draft dodgers who later wrap themselves in it and claim to be patriots), I might take them more seriously, although I’ll never be willing to give up the right of dissent. I won’t burn the flag, or stomp it, but I’ll defend to the death the right of others express themselves in this fashion, even though I wish they’d find some other mode of trying to improve our society.
One thing to remember, though, is that just because someone won’t stand for our national anthem doesn’t mean they’re standing for some other anthem. That would be a horse of a different color.*
* Hey, if they want to give their allegiance to Britain, France, or Italy — no problem. But I do have a problem with people who parade around with swastika flags calling themselves “Americans” and “patriots.” There’s an incongruence there I can’t reconcile with the sacrifices of my veteran relatives.

There are exceptions like 3 in the U.S. Senate who allowed 20 some million people keep decent health insurance.
Oh and some just raised taxes in Kansas so like kids could stay in school a full academic calendar.
No they’re not perfect but still.

“Too little, too late.” That’s what people are saying about Trump’s statement today condemning white supremacists. He shouldn’t have to be told what to say. It shouldn’t take two days for him to say it. He isn’t America and doesn’t represent America. He should resign.

@70 The GOP is at the brink. Some Republicans will step back. Others will go over the edge. I say defeat ’em all and let God sort ’em out.

Now this:
“President Trump says he’s considering pardoning former Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio who was recently convicted of ignoring a U.S. court order to stop traffic patrols that targeted immigrants.”

Roger Rabbit Commentary: Although pardoning a contempt of court undermines the rule of law, I don’t care if Arpaio doesn’t go to jail. He’s old, he’s out of office, and he’s irrelevant. What I think of a pardon will depend on the rationale of the pardon. Of course, I don’t expect Trump to do it for the right reasons. He’ll pardon Arpaio as a reward for being a racist jerk, not for compassionate reasons. That’s what I would take issue with, not the pardon itself.

70,
Not interested in cheering a victory lap for a couple of Hillbilly/Traitors because they dug deeeeeeep down and found the inner strength to vote NO on killing sick children and disabled people.
Given the disgraceful and despicable performance over the last dozen years, if anything Hillbilly/Traitors should be expected to clear a higher bar than anyone else.

Nice guy …

Samantha Bloom, who is disabled and uses a wheelchair, repeatedly called police about her son ….”

I just realized the alt right is willing to kill rather than share status, money or power with anyone they deem “undeserving”. It’s like something out of fiction books.

My issue is that there were so many threats to players’ lives on twitter, threats to boycott the league, and the continued chest bumping over “American Values.”
For people like Roenick, just be honest. Speaking your mind and demonstrating in a way that is “UnAmerican” is worse in your world than beating/raping women.
That goes for every Steelers fan (Rothlesberger), Rams Fans (
westbrooks), Jaguars (Sutka), Chiefs fan (Cox), Bears fan (McDonald) and on and on that said the NFL needed to act on Kaepernick. Kneeling might not be OK with you but I’d say it’s less offensive than beating a woman.
