We have been forced to watch dozens of Republican judicial nominees and cabinet nominees refuse to say who won the 2020 election. The party sponsored a riot attacking the joint session of Congress during the ceremonial certification of the vote count in Jan of 2021. Republicans broke into election offices nationwide and stole records and voting machines to prop up their lie. At various points they adopted claims suggesting that the vote was altered with (1) a space laser hidden behind the moon, (2) fake ballots created in China and spirited into polling centers in pizza boxes, (3) voting machines built by Dominion Systems and Smartmatic were “rigged” in collusion with foreign spy agencies, (4) hundreds of thousands of ballots cast and counted by voters who were deceased, (5) Sharpie markers supplied to GOP voters to spoil their ballots, and (6) hundreds of thousands of fake ballots prepared by rogues state officials and “dumped” into the counts at the last minute. Republican elected officials in Congress and in multiple states were joined in these claims by hundreds of media companies, media figure heads, media personalities, newspaper reporters, bloggers, YouTube influencers, AM hate radio shock jocks, podcasters, Twitter accounts, Insta accounts, and Tik Tok accounts. As a direct result of these weird claims more than half a billion dollars were spent by states and the federal government in efforts to “address” the “vulnerabilities” they described.
And all of these claims were painstakingly investigated and debunked in Congressional reports published in October 7, 2021 and December 22, 2022 which concluded that every single one of these claims were baseless lies fabricated by the Trump campaign, the Trump White House, and their Republican supporters to generate fundraising income, drive engagement with disappointed voters, promote violence and division, and to distract from their own failures.

They have tightened up the requirements to access the lounge, but so has every other airline.
The new Alaska lounge will have dedicated areas depending on what level you are, or if you are on an international flight. I’ve seen the blueprints. United starts work on their new lounge at SeaTac this year…
Also, you gotta have the Delta Amex Reserve card at a minimum to access the lounge..the standard Delta Amex card isn’t gonna get you in….

First class is an illusion.

It certainly does sound as if they are getting ready to just go ahead and surrender.
Both sides have accepted the broad architecture of a 60-day framework for ending the ongoing armed conflict. During that period: the Strait of Hormuz would reopen with no tolls and no harassment of commercial vessels. Iran would clear the mines it deployed within 30 days. The US would lift its naval blockade of Iranian ports proportionally as shipping resumes — Trump’s “relief for performance” principle. Iran would be able to sell oil freely under sanctions waivers. And both sides would use the 60 days to negotiate a more permanent settlement covering Iran’s nuclear program. The UK and France stand by ready to begin mine clearing the minute an agreement is signed (because as I’ve previously pointed out, the U.S. no longer has that capability).
So what stands in the way of implementing the 60 day agreement remain two key issues: Iran’s right to nuclear enrichment and the territorial sovereignty of Iran according to international norms that would therefore include the waters of the strait (shared equally with Oman). This has remained a sticking point since February 28th. On these two issues the U.S. leverage consists of the naval blockade. And the Iranian leverage consists of closure of the strait.
Since the U.S. decapitated the stable ruling leadership inside Iran in the earliest phase of the conflict in the mistaken belief that this would somehow unleash an uprising of pro-western forces and bring about transformation, there is now no stable political consensus within Iran to confront the U.S. demands on these two sticking points. The 60 day plan requires the participants to surrender their positions and grant trust to their counter party in the agreement. And within Iran, with a politically unstable leadership there is far more risk that if the U.S. betrays the agreement the leadership that entered into it will face violent reprisal. And the fear of U.S. betrayal is quite credible because fucking Trump, and also because fucking Israel, and also because of recent history. And all this is unfolding as IRGC hardliners are preparing a parliamentary vote that would cement their claims to sovereignty over the waters of the strait.
What would the surrender look like? Without actually admitting to it, Trump removes enriched uranium stockpile destruction as a precondition to signing. And instead he makes it a key point for negotiation during the 60 days. Iran accepts binding language in a memorandum of understanding defining navigation rights in the strait that eliminates tolls but also grants Iran coordination rights over vessel transits.
After that? Chances are Iran proceeds merrily on their way toward developing a nuclear weapons program so they don’t have to go through this shit again. And Israel resumes its efforts to try to prevent that, but without their Big Brother’s help. Iran clears its mines and France and the UK confirm it allowing the strait to reopen. Oil prices fall to $80. Inflation pressures ease. Perhaps the fed declines to raise rates. Prices for fuel, energy, groceries, food, etc. remain about where they are but cease their rapid increase.

@271 ICE, which has no jurisdiction over U.S. citizens, has been arresting citizens and holding them in detention for up to three days, claiming they don’t have to believe their IDs because illegals sometimes have fake IDs. These are, of course, unlawful arrests and tortious violations of those citizens’ civil rights. ICE also has invaded homes without warrants, and murdered two U.S. citizens. I gather you’re in favor of more of the same.
