DLBottle DLBottle It’s Election Day in Washington so, if you haven’t done so already, drop off your ballot in a ballot drop box, and then swing by the Seattle Chapter of Drinking Liberally for an evening of politics, discussion, and good cheer over a refreshing beverage.

The Seattle Chapter of Drinking Liberally meets every Tuesday at the Roanoke Park Place Tavern (2409 10th Ave E, Seattle) starting at 8pm. You’ll find us on the back patio.

Chapters of Living Liberally are all over the place…if you can’t make it to the Seattle chapter, stop by another chapter near you.

We’ll be better off if justices who profit from secret real estate deals with parties and/or lawyers involved in cases before the court from which they haven’t recused themselves are removed from the court.

Well this is one way to clean up a crime-infested neighborhood.

“More than a dozen people were lynched by a crowd in Haitian capital Port-au-Prince on Monday, on suspicion of being gang members, according to authorities.”

Dang. When you’ve lost the parents…

Democrats and teachers’ unions boasted candidates they backed in Midwestern suburbs trounced their opponents in the once-sleepy races….

“Where culture war issues were being waged by some school board candidates, those issues fell flat with voters,” said Kim Anderson, executive director of the National Education Association labor union. “The takeaway for us is that parents and community members and voters want candidates who are focused on strengthening our public schools, not abandoning them.”…

Democrats hope the spring school election season validates their playbook: Coordinate with local party officials, educator unions and allied community members to identify and support candidates who wield an affirming pro-public education message — and depict competitors as hard-right extremists….

Teacher unions are also celebrating a school board victory in a bellwether community in suburban Milwaukee.

It’s not a good idea to sue a reporter for libel if what the reporter wrote about you is true.

@4. There were 6 candidates for the three positions on the school board here, a suburb school district outside of St Louis. Demographics is white flight people and South Asians. The three National Education Association endorsed candidates won. It was close but each got approx 17% of the vote vs the anti education candidates getting 16%. While the book burners won in the rural counties of the state, that don’t value education anyway; the suburb parents did not see any value in the book burning results of the conservatives. Their kids would not be smarter and more able to compete for jobs because of the policies of the conservatives.

I guess maybe I could throw some money behind a ‘Free Trade’ low Billionaire taxes third party candidate and try to get the ‘Moderates’ from both parties to unite behind making me richer…

SAN FRANCISCO, April 26 (Reuters) – Tech billionaire and Republican megadonor Peter Thiel, an early backer of former President Donald Trump who later broke with him, has told associates he is not planning to donate to any political candidates in 2024, according to two people close to the businessman.

Thiel is unhappy with the Republican Party’s focus on hot-button U.S. cultural issues, said one of the sources, a business associate, citing abortion and restrictions on which bathrooms transgender students can use in schools as two examples.

    8,

    Then explain yourself, bitch.

You poured money and support into candidates and campaigns in 2022 who are some of the architects of the “Woke” moral panic” strategy. You are the reason the GOP doesn’t have anything to offer in 2023 except culture wars. You chose this.
Despite ample warnings from very knowledgeable experts with decades of political experience.
You “knew better” than they did.
    Just like Trump.
