The Seattle Chapter of Drinking Liberally meets every Tuesday at the Roanoke Park Place Tavern (2409 10th Ave E, Seattle) starting at 8pm out on the back patio. Some folks may meet in the back room of the pub.

Chapters of Living Liberally are all over the place…if you can’t make it to the Seattle chapter, there is probably another nearby chapter for you.

    Throughout Gionet’s video, he repeatedly encouraged other rioters to enter the building and berated a Capitol Police officer for breaking his “oath to the constitution.”
    He also used a telephone in a senator’s office to pretend to “make a call to the ‘U.S. Senate’, stating, among other things, ‘We need to get our boy, Donald J. Trump, into office’,” per court documents.
    He then entered another senator’s office, where he “sat on a couch and placed his feet on a table,” and said “occupy the Capitol, let’s go.”
    As part of his sentence, he is required to pay a $2,000 fine.

    Since “berating” isn’t physical violence, I’m assuming he was sentenced for the vocal encouragement of others to break the law, rather than for placing a fake phone call. But I’m not an experienced attorney like QoS McHillbilly. Maybe he can get off his lazy ass to do something other than a half-assed Steve/RawStory impression.

    A full Steve impression, BTW, requires going more than a decade without bedding a woman who does not require payment up front.

    Was listening to the Kraken game tonight, besides that Buffalo plays both anthems even if it’s not Canadian team they are playing (4 miles from the border), is comparison on transporting fans to the game. If you only count rail routes directly serving the arena, Buffalo wins, I think the Niagara Frontier Transit Authority’s Metro Rail is longer than the Seattle Center Monorail.     FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. — Detectives from the Fairfax County Major Crimes Bureau arrested seven men recently as part of a sting operation they say is meant to identify and apprehend online predators.

    According to a release from the Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD), the suspects are men between the ages of 23 and 52. In each case, detectives claim the offenders used online resources to start explicit conversations and solicit sex from police officers posing as children. The sting, referred to as a Traveler Operation, had each suspect arrive at an agreed-upon location, where they were taken into custody.

    Danial Siridavong, 33, of Woodbridge; charged with two counts of use of communications systems to facilitate certain offenses involving children and one count of attempting indecent liberties.
    Edil Yovani Galvin-Dubon, 35, of Fairfax County; charged with attempted indecent liberties with a minor, 20 counts of possession/reproduction of child pornography with the intent to distribute second offense, four counts of use of communications systems to propose to such child the performance of a sexual act and two counts of aggravated sexual battery from a 2017 incident.
    Moh Shakib Stanikzai, 30, of Alexandria; charged with one count of computer solicitation of a child under 15 and attempted indecent liberties with a child under 15.
    Gilberto Antonio Jarquin-Medina, 26, of Alexandria; charged with one count of computer solicitation of a child under 15 and attempted indecent liberties.
    Zim Mohammad, 23, of Springfield; charged with use of communications systems to facilitate certain offenses involving children and one count of enticing a minor to produce pornography.
    Ozgur Ozcelik, 35, of Alexandria; charged with two counts of use of communications systems to facilitate certain offenses involving children and one count of attempt indecent liberties.

    Apparently none of them were in the US when To Catch A Predator was on the air. Kinda sad that we don’t see that show anymore and yet the Kardashians have now been on TV for 20 years.

    Amtrak’s Auto Train is a unique run on the system, only stop it makes between Lurton, VA and Sanford, Fl is in SC for fuel and crew change. A recent run was affected by a train/vehicle collision. I’ve been on a trip of the Empire Builder where a crew ran out of Hours of Service in the middle of nowhere. That was on Train 27 to Portland. Tge old GenesisP40/42 locomotive broke down, and a BNSF Locomotive was borrowed, but the Amtrak conductors had gone on duty in Spokane, and used up their hours of service., so a fresh conductor and assistant conductor had to come in from Portland. The engineers on the Portland segment of the Empire Builder change at Pasco.

    A crew change of Engineers and conductors on the Auto Train is a different story. When Amtrak President Graham Clayton acquired it from its bankrupt private operator, he set it up so it had a separate seniority pool and labor agreement. Although the major change in work rules was with the on board service crews, with most of them except cooks cross trained todo other roles. It leads to a smaller pool of relief crews, than the other Atlantic Seaboard routes like tge NYC-Florida Silver trains. Plus with engine crews on the Auto Train, they are a special breed, Tgey are pulling Amtrak’s longest consist, about a dozen or more Superliner bi-levels, plus about the same number of Auto-Racks. The Auto Train is the equivalent of a ferry on rails. No other Amtrak route could have a train like this.
