Last week’s news-related contest was won by wes.in.wa. Two in a row for wes. The location was Tallahassee, Florida, the home in the middle the location of a grisly murder scene last month.
Here’s this week’s, which is just a random location somewhere on Earth. Good luck!
Liberal Scientist spews:
Wow, a toughie.
Not England – that arrow seems to say drivers are on the right side of the road.
East coast USA?
Lee spews:

This one is tough, although if no one pulls it out by tomorrow night, I’ll post a clue…
wes.in.wa spews:
Pretty sure I’ve got the country …
uptown spews:
It does say “bus” on the road to the right and that building at the bottom looks vaguely familiar (from the opposite direction). Could it be in Ireland? Otherwise I have nothing.
k1p1 spews:
It could be Germany. Deutsche Post trucks are bright yellow with black writing on the side. And bus is the same English and German.
spyder spews:
Well, “bus” is the same in many European countries: Denmark, Holland, Germany, Austria, the English speaking countries, and most of Scandinavia. This looks like a lowland city, just from the feel of it for me.
rhp6033 spews:
For some reason, I’m thinking Amsterdam. I can’t give a reason why, other than the ones given above.
drool spews:
Looks like a DHL van to me.

drool spews:
Ireland is same as UK. They drive on left.
wes.in.wa spews:
My guess is a country that’s not mentioned yet. Scouring cities one by one. Arrg.
Lee spews:
This one’s particularly tough so I’ll give a clue. This is in a relatively small town whose nearest larger city is in another country.
Blue John spews:
It looks like a Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory setting.
wes.in.wa spews:
@12: there’s a Wonck in Belgium … not this town, though.
wes.in.wa spews:
Hoogstraat & Winterslagstraat, Genk, Belgium.
wes.in.wa spews:
Dang, I looked at Genk twice before — decided it was all too modern, so didn’t zoom in.
N in Seattle spews:
Great work, wes.in.wa! I had looked at Bilzen, didn’t think to go quite that far away from Maastricht.
BTW, I’ve been in Maastricht. Driving there from the north (Arnhem, Nijmegen), the reason that Holland ends there was quite obvious to us — there were actual hills near Maastricht. That’s enough to make any Dutchman uneasy, so they wouldn’t go any farther.
Lee spews:
@14
Man, that was quite a win. That was definitely one of the hardest ones I’ve ever posted. Nicely done…
wes.in.wa spews:
@17: the hint helped; got me out of Brussels & Antwerp. I decided to just stay w/ Belgium, because the road markings & bus stop markings seemed pretty uniform.
