But Pirro certainly knew the lining was peeling before Mr. Hearn came along, and she had a lying boss to appease. And when taken in context with her other failed politically motivated prosecutions, I think an ethics investigation is warranted. Of course,

WINNING!
Whooboy the motion to dismiss the reflecting pool case is something.
First, the decision by Jeanine Pinot to dismiss without prejudice as if these charges could be refiled.
Then there’s a reference to facts she claims her office did not have when filing the charges of ‘tearing and pulling and ripping of the lining by the defendant until (Ed’s note heroic manly men) National Guard troops made the arrest.
There is zero evidence from eyewitnesses this happened.
And there’s the report by a Corp of Engineers official filed two days after the pool was reopened, as the algae bloom exploded and BEFORE industrial strength chlorine was seen being poured into the pool which as a heavier than water chemical sunk and coalesced on the bottom of the pool. The report notes the development of peeling of the newly installed lining particularly along the top edges. Pinot claims to have not seen this report and having no idea if damage was occurring naturally before running to a grand jury with a farcical tale of an Olympian ‘ripping and tearing the lining away.’
But the final bit is the new report by ACoE noting the lax bidding process, the low cost materials used by the contractor and a great deal of attention paid to the “rushed timeline of the job” in order to complete before the kickoff of Donnie’s ‘Merica Celebration including pressure to finish before the kickoff event, UFC on the White House Lawn.
Al this ‘NEW’ evidence results in Pinot seeking to drop the charges. Attorney’s for the defense have already made motion to compel Pinot to produce the Grand Jury transcript and a motion to dismiss with prejudice.

A former D.C. federal prosecutor, who knows more about prosecutorial ethics than Doctor Dumbfuck, says “you don’t indict first and investigate later. Nor do you take the word of another agency of government.” He added Pirro “appeared to be investigating a foregone conclusion rather than applying facts to the case,” which “is not the way prosecution works.” He didn’t speak specifically to the question of bar discipline, but called it “a gross abuse of prosecutorial discretion and power.”
https://www.rawstory.com/trump-doj-2677647830/
Gross abuse is what gets lawyers disbarred.
In other news, “Last week, Fox News devoted significant time to reviewing and reporting on Fauci’s diary,” which Republicans leaked, and someone who analyzed clips Fox played for its audience found many “were based on fabricated claims” by Trump underlings. In other words, Fox broadcast a pack of lies.
https://www.rawstory.com/fox-news-anthony-fauci/
Doctor Dumbfuck, of course, swallows those lies whole, because he’s a dumbfuck.
One drawback from last night’s LINK derailment, was designing the 2 Line to work solely within the I-90 Reversible Lsnes. The train was reversing through a switch at IDS to head south to Stadium Station to handle a large crowd from the Ed Sheeran concert. Right now the Wye Junction to OMF-East looks overbuilt, double-tracked, but it will eventually be where the 4 Lime to Kirkland branches off. Such a junction at IDS/SODO was not worth the cost. Still crossovers at Pioneer Square, Symphony, and Westlake would have been worth it.
Beginning to see benefits of batteries on Light Rail Vehicles. While I wouldn’t have them on the high speed section of LINK, could see them useful during localized outages caused by such derailment.
@ 71
Nah, save the money. No batteries.
People should feel the results of what they voted for. Not making it in to work a few days per year is part of that sensation.
Look at the bright side: It will be useful to the work-from-home crowd’s demands.
Say, New Jersey, why is it that you and a whole buncha other blue states don’t want the feds to see your voter rolls?
The NJ gov is aware of the number. She’s aware that it’s a problem. This is why she claimed a smaller number a couple of weeks ago. Limited modified hangout so that when the real truth emerges it can be brushed off as “old news”.
@ 70
…someone who analyzed clips Fox played for its audience found many “were based on fabricated claims” by Trump underlings.
The example Raw Story used? RFK Jr. claimed COVID-19 vaccines are associated with “pulmonary infarction”. He meant pulmonary embolism. The infarction of pulmonary tissue is the consequence of PE.
If you die of a blood clot or because the blood clot caused the lung tissue to become necrotic and nonfunctional, what’s the difference? You’re dead either way.
The problem with this offer is the women play with a smaller ball.
If you’ve ever tried to shoot basketballs to win a prize at a carnival you know the rim diameter is not much bigger than the diameter of the ball, and that’s why the carnival wins. Conversely, when you play at Dave & Buster’s the balls are small and you score a lot.
Think about that next time you feel like comparing NCAA career stats of Caitlin Clark vs. Pistol Pete or anyone else. It’s simply easier to score with a smaller ball.
It’s easier to dunk with a smaller ball, too. In high school I could dunk a volleyball but couldn’t come close with a basketball.
The other problem with the offer, of course, is that the women would get skunked by a halfway decent HS boys’ team.
the women would get skunked by a halfway decent HS boys’ team.
Every wnba team to my knowledge runs their practices with MEN, plenty of whom I would guess played HS ball.
“skunked” is yet another silly misogynist kreepfuck fantasy.

And cleans your clock. Which is why I wrote elementary school students, YLB. You do need to have a fair fight, after all. Otherwise you might get discouraged and whine, “Why are you here?”, like you did with me after the Democrats’ 2014 shellacking.
Last time the S&P 500 crossed this valuation milestone, the stock market crashed by 49%. Will history repeat?
Based on one widely followed valuation metric, the S&P 500 has only been this expensive on one other occasion in its entire history, and that was in 2000 at the peak of the dot-com bubble. What followed was one of the steepest declines investors have ever endured, and from the bottom of that trough, it took half a decade for the index to recover and begin setting new highs again. Is history about to repeat itself?
Clearly overvalued. Overdue for a correction that won’t be pretty.

And cleans your clock.

You’re here to make your kb sticky.
@72 People should feel the results of what they voted for. Not making it in to work a few days per year is part of that sensation.
That’s definitely something to think about while sitting in stop-and-go traffic.
A traffic jam in Freeland, Washington, is two cars.
Rails console string search is quirky:

Still have stuff to learn. But I know enough to have fun.
@73 Any reply to your post necessarily must begin with the proposition that your source is a known liar and the 35,152 number is bullshit. The source is Donald J. Trump and who knows where the number came from. Probably the same fevered imagination as the 350-foot gash in the reflecting pool. As I accurately predicted @70, you swallow his lies whole.
The noncitizen registrations were a one-off, caused by a private vendor’s screwup. The software asked people applying for, or renewing, driver’s licenses or state IDs if they were citizens. All 6,600 checked the “no” box. That should have blocked the “do you want to register to vote” box, not allowed them to check the “yes’ box. Of the 6,600 who did, 400 voted, because the state led them to believe they could.
And most of them probably were better voters than you.
@75 The other problem with the offer, of course, is that the women would get skunked by the guy making the offer if they beat the
a halfway decentHS boys’ team because he doesn’t have $10 million. He has $200,000, unless he sells stock and real estate, which he isn’t going to do. He doesn’t have any real estate worth $10 million, so most likely would have to sell all of it, and while he might have that much stock, if he sells it he’ll have a hefty tax bill.
What’s more, an offer like this isn’t legally enforceable, and he surely knows that. It’s not a contract, because there was no consideration. It’s nothing more than a notorious braggart’s empty posturing.
https://exposingclay.substack.com/p/inside-the-hundred-millionaire-claims
And the dumbfuck troll swallowed it whole.
@80 You against anyone on this blog is not a fair fight. It’s like pitching to a blind batter.
@81 The S&P 500 isn’t just overvalued, it’s skewed. Over 40% of the S&P 500 index is 10 companies, 8 of which are tech giants; the other 2 are Tesla and Berkshire Hathaway. If their valuations corrected, it would do almost nothing to a portfolio of stocks having P/Es in the teens and low 20s, and there are plenty of such stocks.
I’m pretty sure Pirro would rather keep her license to practice law than her friendship with Trump, if push comes to shove, and she has to choose one or the other.
Also, she’s finding out that Trump doesn’t actually have friends, and people who think they’re his friend are expendable.
https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/6006753-trump-jeanine-pirro-us-attorney-reflecting-pool/
Meanwhile, Doug Burgum is opting for temporary* job security; but he doesn’t have a law license to lose.
* His day will come, too.
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/burgum-backs-trump-in-reflecting-pool-vandalism-dispute/ar-AA29djnW
Let’s say Trump fires Pirro, and replaces her with someone who refiles the charges, which is possible because they were dismissed “without prejudice.” Now the situation is:
(1) A U.S. attorney has already dismissed the charges.
(2) The motion for dismissal effectively admitted the defendant is innocent.
(3) It’s clear the charges are being refiled on Trump’s direct order.
What do you suppose the refiled charges’s lifespan in court will be, when the defendant’s attorneys file a motion to dismiss?
That is, if Trump can find an attorney willing to refile them, especially if by then the New York bar has opened a disciplinary investigation of Pirro?
The biggest problem I have with DJT47 is that the money rolls in faster than we can figure out what to do with it.
Democrats are on the case, trying to make it stop.
