    It’s obviously a mansion, and looks like the kind of mansions they have in the Northeast, and all the trees are bare (except for the ornamentals) so they’re deciduous trees, so this has gotta be in New England.

    I’m gonna say Connecticut. It looks like Connecticut. My cousin Vinny says it looks like Connecticut to him, too. It could be Rhode Island, but it feels more like Connecticut.

    thanks, i went to google and typed in “the achingly vast wilderness in which the republican party will wander for the next 8 years” and that was the first result. not surprisingly, it’s in the richest county in virginia.

    I wound up continually trying to access the HA admin site over and over again for a while last night because I’d already written up a rough draft of my NFL Open Thread and posted it to go live. Thankfully, I was able to get in to edit it a little before midnight so that my rough draft didn’t just pop up here at 5am…

    Never doing that again… :)

    So where is it? The link @9 shows the same picture but doesn’t say where it is. Also, a comment I posted last night isn’t here. Apparently the website crashed while I was posting it, and it got wiped out. I said there’s a County Road 677 in New Brunswick, New Jersey.

    @17 Lying as always, I see, which seems to be a compulsion with you rightys. I have a recession-proof income, health insurance, no debts, and I don’t have to fucking work! Why would anyone work? Employers want all these qualifications (which you have to acquire at your own expense), expect you to get to work on time (at your own expense) no matter how bad the commuter traffic is, demand loyalty but give none in return, and will outsource your job to foreigners in a heartbeat if they can make another nickel by doing it. Plus all the bullshit that workers have to put up with: Bullying supervisors, making employees work off the clock, ignoring safety laws, ordering employees to commit unethical or illegal acts, etc. I don’t have to put up with any of that and I don’t take orders from anyone! I get paid for not working! Do you have a deal like that, putz? Nope, didn’t think so.

    I just randomly guessed Appomattox VA after thinking it looked like VA (never been to VA), googled the highway number, and Appomattox popped up first or second.

    I saw a spy movie (don’t remember which one, but it I’m guessing from the 70s or 80s) where someone was CIA (or running from rogue CIA dudes) through a winter landscape like that (brown cover with dead trees I think).
