Our tanks were refilled after the outage last week, and I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the invoice this morning, so I looked at the wholesale prices.

Recently discovered this app that covers most rail lines on the continent. Used the current/classic feature to look for lines light multiple units like the Stadler FLIRT(first to be certified to share tracks with freight in US and Canada without a waiver or requires temporal separation) could use. The former NP line from Seattle to the border would have been great, but unfortunately a couple portions are now trails. Stampede Sub as a shuttle feeding SOUNDER at Auburn, or running through to Seattle or Tacoma. Out of service route between Freighthouse Square and Fredrickson, Swiss developed vehicles can handle a 3.2% Grade., as a commuter run, and could also serve Mount Tahoma. Spokane to Whitman County(state owns a few of the lines, but currently as a way of keeping grain trucks off the highway, track upgrades are the lease payment the operators make, in some cases the Palouse River and Coulee City, the classification of the track was FRA-Exempt, literally a crawl, FRA track classes(which determine speed limits), Class 1 is 10mph.

    https://rail.guide/#10.52/47.6402/-122.3237
(App form keeps going to Chicago when opened)

Now it’s added the rail transit lines to current and current/classic in some cities, including the Central Puget Sound. Tacoma’s Point Defiance Line, which continues as Pierce Transit’s 11 Bus today, looks like a staircase with many right angle turns. Originally to stay within Tacoma, but today re-routing it straighter(supposedly an advantage for buses) would bypass the riders. Within Seattle, as most old maps I have seen only had revenue lines on them, noticed a spur on 12th and 14th Ave in the valley between First and Cherry Hills, going into a loop between Jefferson and Columbia streets. Only current landmarks on this app’s map, but that loop is around today’s Seattle University athletic fields, but was a streetcar barn until 1940, with periods of active use by Seattle Transit and Metro until the 80s. 12th might have been a good revenue line today, especially if the area densities more. One line that should have been saved, was the Lake Burien line, before Lake Burien became a public lake that has no public access.(Every parcel on the shore is private property) The Lake Burien line had an interesting history. Wasn’t one of the former PSPT&L lines the city acquired in 1919, but one that helped put the city in the streetcar business earlier. Previous owner needed a buyout after a track washout. 20 years later became an early abandonment, due to a slide and washout. City didn’t really like the idea of owning a line outside the city, except for possibly the Rainier Ave line, and with limited maintenance funding, replaced it with a bus. During Seattle Transit’s era, a few routes had terminuses outside the city, but it was like a few blocks, tax issues. Especially the first exemption of fuel taxes for bus operators, had a 15 mile radius.

@6 Say, is there some event that occurred on January 20 that might explain this decline in energy costs?

Oh look, the dumbfuck troll thinks Trump waved his magic wand and made propane prices lower. Not.

Propane, a byproduct of oil refining and natural gas processing, is following crude lower. And crude prices are falling because OPEC and the Saudis want them to.

I don’t know where you’re getting propane for 63¢ a gallon, because everyone else in this state is paying at least $1.52 and mostly over $1.63. Abd unless you’re a distributor or retailer, you’re not buying wholesale.

  26. Roger Rabbit spews:

@12 What’s happened since Jan 20 is some troll’s head has traveled even further up its butt.

That’s about the size of it. Gasoline, heating oil, and propane prices are cyclical. They go up and down. The single biggest factor is market manipulation by OPEC and the Saudis.

However, the troll might have a point if Trump is emptying the Strategic Petroleum Reserve without anyone’s knowledge. But that seems unlikely. I recall he asked the oil companies for a $1 billion campaign donation. I’m pretty sure what he offered them in return wasn’t lower consumer prices for their products.

This will be interesting to see if it happens, Pentagon looking for a contracted fillet of amphibious aircraft. Since if they want American made, probably will just be the long-proposed C-130 floatplane adaptation. The only people who have built large amphibious aircraft in recent years are Russians, Chinese, and Japanese.

    https://www.twz.com/news-features/pentagon-to-contract-fleet-of-seaplanes-for-the-pacific

Probably if the C-130 Floatplane doesn’t happen, it would be the Japanese design.

De Haviland Canada(Current type certificate owner has brought back production of the DHC-6) might be an option.

    https://dehavilland.com/twin-otter-guardian/

Since with Defense strategies in the Pacific are seeing everything old again being new again, including reactivation of former WWII Island strips including Tinian -North, this might be a candidate for the contract.

Domestic drill count is DOWN 15 percent from 2024.

You should look beyond drill count to efficiency:

E&P Upside: Top operators (e.g., Exxon, Conoco) with low breakevens may deliver strong returns, especially if efficiency gains keep costs down. US production hit record highs in 2025 despite lower rig counts, thanks to longer laterals and better tech.

    @ 13

    $.42 x 700 = $294. Hardly noticeable if you’re rich, amirite.

That’s wholesale price decline. Retail is different. It’s not the wholesale price that spikes when the power goes out and everyone needs 10 gallons for their generator. It’s the price at the pump that spikes.

I would add that a conservative responding to a $294 increase in the cost of something with, “Who cares, I’m rich.” would not be received well by HA libbies.

    • Trump kicked Epstein out of Mar-a-Lago. There’s no indication that he did the same to Maxwell, who is the daughter of someone that Trump might possibly have done business with.

    • Said photo was taken years before Ghislaine Maxwell was a guest at Chelsea Clinton’s wedding.

We can all tell that you have no idea that there are data showing benefit of ivermectin use in some patients with breast or NSCLC, YLB.

People with stage 4 disease don’t hope for “cure”, so you are correct that ivermectin is not a cancer “cure”. But if you have six months to live on one drug cocktail and the addition of ivermecting gives you nine to 12 months of life, in the oncology world that is a treatment success.

When one of your children contracts stage 4 colon cancer in his 40s you will be right there next to him screaming for him to be added to an ivermectin combination chemotherapy trial, YLB. And you’ll demand he not be put into the placebo arm.

  91. Release The Epstein Files spews:

    Sunday, 12/28/25 at 9:01 pm

Epstein is dead, having “committed suicide” during Trump’s first term.

His principal identified co-conspirator has been convicted and sentenced to a long prison term. But recently Trump moved her to an honor farm, arranged for her to receive gourmet meals delivered to her private room, to spend her days petting puppies, and is working on supervised community release for her.

The rest of Epstein’s unidentified co-conspirators are being protected and shielded from public exposure by Trump’s Attorney General. Despite all that, Trump’s name and photograph continue to turn up in documents and records tying him directly and intimately to Epstein during the years in which Epstein was procuring and selling children to the wealthy for sex.

The only rational reason for Trump’s Attorney General to protect Epstein’s criminal co-conspirators would be to protect Trump.

  92. Release The Epstein Files spews:

    Sunday, 12/28/25 at 9:48 pm

In 2019 the DOJ secretly obtained the flight itinerary and travel details of Julie K. Brown, the investigative reporter for the Miami Herald who first uncovered and published the criminal scandal surrounding Epstein in Palm Beach. Those documents are included in the files now.

What pedophile piece of shit was running the DOJ in 2019?

Protecting the pedophile co-conspirators and investigating the investigators is what MAGA fascism is for.
