And, speaking of ‘change’, the one kind that Barack Obama did actually deliver this year was not that which most voters had in mind after listening to him use the word incessantly, all throughout 2008. Obama and his colleagues have now managed to bring the future of the Democratic Party into question, just a year after it won two smashing victories in a row.

    Personally, I’m not real bothered by that. Today’s Democrats are, almost without exception, embarrassing hacks who deserved to get stomped a long time ago.

    What really upsets me, however, is what these fools have allowed to be done to the name of progressivism, and to the country.

    Barack Obama has now, in just a year’s time, become the single most inept president perhaps in all of American history, and certainly in my lifetime. Never has so much political advantage been pissed away so rapidly, and what’s more in the context of so much national urgency and crisis. It’s astonishing, really, to contemplate how much has been lost in a single year.

  5. Are you sure it’s “military personnel” or military policy? This is the wingnut Ann Coulter/Rush/Beck/O’Reilly approach. If you DARE to criticize any military policy (or the President, only if he’s a Republican of course) then you hate America and hate our troops. Huh.

    Yes, we need more military spending (and taxes that support it of course, it’s not “free”). We’re only the biggest military, and military budget on Earth. When for f**ks sake is enough? Do we NEED 700 foreign military bases? Can we get by with 600, or 200? 700? And we’re not an Empire…700?

    Anyway, the cartoon is CUTE. The Democrats have never been a strong cohesive party. The Republicans were the management/owners and the Democrats were just “everyone else”…green party, socialist, labor, small business, religious (until civil rights movement). Democrats are just a hodge-podge of misc groups.

  7. Criticize military policy all you want, Rall from the cartoons and writings of his that I’ve seen he sure targets the average soldier a hell of a lot more than someone who just despises militarism.

  8. From health care to torture to the economy to war, Obama has reneged on pledges real and implied. So timid and so owned is he that he trembles in fear of offending, of all things, the government of Turkey. Obama has officially reneged on his campaign promise to acknowledge the Armenian genocide. When a president doesn’t have the nerve to annoy the Turks, why does he bother to show up for work in the morning?

    Obama is useless.
