Raising taxes is a good thing. America has been living beyond its means. We need to reduce deficits. Deficits are inflationary. Deficits as a percentage of GDP are at a historic high, and rising interest payments on the debt threaten social spending.
If we raise taxes, I personally prefer taxing consumption to taxing income, because I have a lot of income and don’t consume much. I’m thrilled that Trumpers are volunteering to pay higher taxes.

The Even Bigger Fucking Moron, do you think the EPA and the American Lung Association don’t monitor/regulate air pollution and asthma? Do you think there aren’t a bazillion public and private entities that wade deeply into climate change issues? Do you think the EPA doesn’t care just a little bit about lead levels in water? Do you think the American Cancer Society doesn’t fund and monitor cancer cluster research?
I’m not saying those things are not important. I’m saying that not every government entity has to have their hands in it, and climate change and the CDC are a silly match.
