goldy…only you would be tasteless and tacky enough to put up this crap on memorial day weekend.
you are completely irrelevant…..
almost as much a paul is.
The Republicans absolutely hate this guy. He actually believes in the stated principles of the Republican party.
There are lots of places where I strongly disagree with Rep Paul, but at least he’s willing to stand up for his principles, even when they’re inconvenient, and as I’ve stated many times, I admire honesty.
Of the current batch of Republican candidates, he’s probably the one that could give us the most trouble in the general election, if the GOP ever really got behind him.
Fortunately for us, even if Rep Paul won the primaries, they hate the guy so much that there is no way that they’d let him get through the convention, and if he did somehow manage that, then the GOP leadership would probably end up supporting Hillary Clinton for President.
The current GOP leadership would much rather have a Democrat in the White House than someone that actually believed in what they profess.
so john…you are going to tell me, a republican, what i believe?
that’s fascinating….really.
ron paul is an irrelevant little twit…always has been.
but if we were going to follow his advice i guess we wouldn’t have stopped hitler, would we?
for him to make the statement that rudy doesn’t know what he’s talking about concerning 9/11 because he hasn’t read paul’s “list” of books…even though rudy was right there dealing with it, is so appalling that only a liberal democrat would say it.
and the statement that we asked for it…good grief. you know what they called people that said crap like that after pearl harbor [and there were some……i think perhaps related to goldy] they called them TRAITORS.
a good term that still applies.
Well, Ms. Ghost, as a Republican you keep telling me what I believe, and you come to this liberal blog to do so.
Nevertheless, you are welcome to correct any misconceptions I have regarding the stated philosophy of the Republican party.
My understanding is that you claim to believe in smaller government, fiscal responsibility, and staying out of matters that do not immediately concern government. You believe in a strict interpretation of the Constitution according to the expressed intent of the founding fathers.
john….you are correct. so, what are you saying? that one elected official is the face of an entire party? paul? hardly.
bush? hardly.
i do believe in smaller more efficient government that stays out of honest citizens business and is fiscally responsible. unfortunately for all of us that hasn’t happened for a long long time.
however…..we are in a war now. a necessary war…a war we cannot afford to lose thanks to whiny do-nothing liberals.
remember, john on this memorial day…the terrorists are counting on the sheehan’s and goldy’s of the country to do their heavy lifting for them.
not that goldy is actually in sheehan’s category…she actually puts her money where her big mouth is….sadly for her son’s memory.

Mr. Paul was a flight surgeon in the Air Force. He has most certainly attended at least his share of military funerals and memorial services.
In my twenty-one years, I’ve attended more than a few of those myself, and came closer than I care to remember to being the “guest of honor” at one of them. (I came out without a scratch, thank God.)
If I don’t see it as being disrespectful on Memorial Day, (which is actually either Monday or Wednesday, depending on whether or not you think that the actual day is or is not more important than a three-day car sale) then I’m not entirely sure how you get off declaring it to be disrespectful.

So, Ms. Ghost, you are of the impression that anyone considering this war to be both ill-conceived and poorly executed to be aiding the enemy?
Are you seriously saying that anyone saying that we do not belong in the middle of the Iraqi civil war cannot be a patriot?
How about someone wondering why we’re pulling troops away from the battle against the folks that actually attacked us and using them to fight people that did not attack us?
Yes, the President decided that his grudge against Iraq and Saddam Hussein was more important than actually defending the country against people that killed thousands of us.
In order to get us to go along, he lied to us, and had his subordinates lie to us. Those lies have cost thousands of American lives, and continue to endanger us by weakening our military.
And the one person in your party with the courage to say so, you denounce.

Um, let me remind you:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

You’d better realize that there are people who come here who DID (or do) serve, and who know God-damn well what Memorial Day means.
I know what it means to Cheney and Bush: a chance to strut in front of a camera with a bunch of poor, stupid bastards they’ve conned into going to Iraq, playing on their naivity and sense of patriotism. It makes me sick. YOU make me sick.
And then, the topper, is you have the freaking GALL to try to compare this shit we’re doing in Iraq and Afghanistan to WWII. How fucking stupid can you be? This is NOTHING like that. NOTHING. We lost more men on one day of battle in WWII than we’ve lost in this entire ‘war’ that Bush and his dispicable ilk manufactured.

You scribbled the post I’ve attached at the end. What does Iraq have to do with Hitler or World War 2, and how is it more like World War 2 than Vietnam?
US entry into the Second World War was preceded by Pearl Harbor. Until that day, most Americans opposed entry into what was, correctly, perceived to be a European problem. Were the great many Republicans of that day, who, prior to Pearl Harbor, opposed entry into that European war, wrong?
And what exactly can one tell about your beliefs from the fact that you are a Republican?
You state that Rudy Giuliani somehow is qualified to be president because he was there on 9/11, “dealing with it”. How about the other millions of New Yorkers, who also were there, dealing with it? Is that a qualification for anything other than our sympathies and solidarity?
