Sorry to be glib, but the reason that America’s so-called libertarians rarely focus on corporatism – and why they’re satisfied to stop at mere rhetoric when they finally do – is that they are, almost to a man, a group of white, male assholes who either have property of some sort or who assume that they will get it soon and want to make sure their rights as property owners are secured when they do. They are or, more likely, think they are great captains of industry, Galtian heroes who are forging civilization itself from the earth’s raw materials with their bare, calloused hands.
Over the last two weeks I have been thinking about what comments I could include in a “The Best of Troll” tribute, and so far I can’t come up with anything.

Not much going on in the news today except Michael Steele is running for re-election as RNC chair. I sure hope he wins.

Since we have a black guy in a leadership position, they should have a black guy in a leadership position, too.

Roger Rabbitspews:
If I support Michael, maybe he’ll invite me along on his next sex club junket on the RNC tab. My Republican friends have always been more than generous about picking up the tab … using the money they stole from the working class. Hey, what goes around, comes around …

I’m rooting for Steele too, but fuck, Roger, the man is an idiot — I couldn’t spend two minutes with him without laughing in his face.
He is the epitomy of an Oreo and you rightly point out the shallowness of R thinking @6.
Besides, it’s pretty clear Priebus (current Wis R Chair) or Anuzis are going to be the new RNC chair.
But the long and short of it is the RNC is arguably irrelevant after Citizens United.

@4 Try “Worst of Troll” and you’ll have more to choose from.
I think that’s just a substrate, of course. Years of taught fear and resentment and greed are what really turn otherwise good and innocent people into Republicans.

@12 Hey, ya know, lining up cute fluffy bunnies and fucking ’em a dozen at a time gets boring after awhile … I could use a diversion.

I heard Bernie Sanders on Thom Hartmann’s program this morning. Question for all of you: Should Social Security be made needs-based? That is, if one has a defined benefit plan or defined contribution plan, should his or her social security be reduced or even eliminated in order that Social Security can provide retirement income to those who have no other source of retirement funding?
18
Blue Johnspews:
#17 Needs Testing. My initial thought is sure. Why not? But there may be some unintended or deeper consequences I’m not aware of.
19
Politically Incorrectspews:
@18,
Yeah, I’m trying to get a handle on this idea. It would seem that people ought to at least get their paycheck deductions back in retirement even if they weren’t actually going to get any benefits or were to receive reduced benefits based on their other sources of retirement income.
20
Tondaleo Lipshitzspews:
re 17: No. I would not agree with that. That would be unfair.
Just like it’s unfair to not tax a person who inherits a million dollars, but tax the person who earned it.
Surely you can see that.
21
Politically Incorrectspews:
@20,
Actually, I didn’t express an opinion about the matter in my comment at 17. I am concerned, however, about not at least getting my payroll deductions back in retirement. Not getting those funds back, even if over a period of time, would truly be unfair.

Thats is the problem right there. You cannot dehumanize your rival, in the light of their own dehumanization of theirs. That implies their inability to reason within their own belief system, when they so clearly can. It absolves them of responsibility for their actions.
When their words create actions that reflect their vitriol, you must hold them responsible as humans. Automatons cannot be held responsible, humans can.

And Malkin? She established herself as a raging psychotic bitch years ago. I’ve met her in person, and she is a 100% cheap dime store phony.
Fuck those teabagging notwits, their only real complaint is the spotlight wasn’t on them.
