Goldy — obvious satire and parody is not a basis to sue for libel, slander, defamation or anything else. Hustler Magazine v. Falwell, 485 U.S. 46 (1988)
Hustler Magazine wrote a story that Jerry Falwell’s “first time” was during a drunken incestuous rendezvous with his mother in an outhouse. Falwell sued, and a jury awarded him $200,000 in damages. The U.S. Supreme Court overturned this, holding that satire and parody are protected by the First Amendment.
Neither you nor Stefan have any basis to sue each other. Nor do David Irons or Ron Sims based on what you or Stefan are saying about them.
I couldn’t get through a week without that even if I didn’t read SP.

Are you serious? I contribute more to society in 1 fart than these professional haters contribute put together.
Anyone who uses the words “quality” and “Coulter” in the same sentence dooms himself to never be taken seriously. Look at the shit this woman writes: Liberals are “traitors” who should be put in “concentration camps” or “executed.”
Coulter is nothing but a smut peddler; a mercenary who’s in it for the money, and laughs at the idiots who pay her money for the filth that spews from her poison pen.
According to a recent Time magazine article, Coulter lives in fear of being assassinated. Well, what does she expect, when she makes her living by inciting hate? Serves her right. Why do the media give the time of day to this lunatic?

The publicity Coulter gets isn’t the result of “liberal media bias.” The so-called “liberal media bias” is one of the right-wing noise machine’s biggest and most ridiculous lies. Mark and Roger Rabbit:
Here is the great difference between Liberals and Conservatives.
If Liberals fear they are biased, they insist on getting someone else from the other side. Hence, the popularity of Ann Coulter (although, lets face it, if she hadn’t slept with Hannity and Drudge, no one would ever have heard of her).
Conservatives, it they think they are biased, either get a weak liberal to beat up, or shut them out.
Look at the difference between this board and the ss minnow’s site. Here, both sides have at it. At the minnow’s site, contrary voices are banned.
It is really that simple.
So, Mark, stay around, you may seldom be right, but you sometimes are. (I’m willing to admit when I think there are good ideas from conseravitves. I also can point out to some conservatives both here and, gasp, at the minnow’s site, that aren’t insane). Heck, while Cynical seems to be drifting into some form of dementia, he even occasionally has a good point, if only we could just teach him to lay off the cap locks (ALL CAPS ARE FOR FOURTEEN YEAR OLD WAREZ KIDS!!!).
We are better off when we can discuss our differences, even in the childish ways that sometimes domiates blogs. If this was just an echo chamber, it wouldn’t be much of a blog (look at the way the minnow’s site is going down the drain since he threw off most of the liberals).

How can you talk about these things Mark, and accuse people of being ‘one dimensional catchphrase mongers’ and not mention MR. CAPSLOCK PINHEAD?
46
Markspews:
windie @ 44
I did make reference to Cynical, but lumped him in with “the counterparts on the Right.” I didn’t mention every verbally-vomitting Leftie, either, but merely named a few that are particularly monotonous. I also tend to skip the rants with lots of caps, so I don’t pay attention who writes those. Roger, Donna et al are more devious and at least have the outward appearance of logical, reasonable posts.
As for the “campaign of the smear,” that is not solely a GOP strategy. Besides, what one side calls a “smear,” the other side calls “revealing information the public needs to know.”
47
Markspews:
Roger @ 42
You’re a simpleton. The whole world isn’t black and white. Not all people with an interest in politics are partisan automatons like you, Donna, Lucy…

He called you an idiot? I guess that’s OK, so long as he didn’t call you a Jew idiot…
karl spews:
I just wonder, is being the Anti-Stefan really your goal?
I don’t argue that the two of you are at odds politically, God’s what an understatement that is.
But honestly I think you worry more about him then you need to.

Karl:
And yet it is the minnow that always comes here to swear and post. Shows which blog is more interesing, doesn’t it.
It’s the minnow’s own fault. If he and the followers of the lord of lies were not so scared of any one who thinks differently, you might have some lively exchanges over at the minnow’s site. The problem with all fundamentalist is the are scared of anything that is 100% in agreement with them.

And that includes “fundamentalist liberals,” too. Show me one time when one of the vocal Lefties on this site has even said, “OK, I see your point, but…”
A little jab here and there is all in good fun. But just like any joke, it becomes boring and even irritating the 50th time you’ve heard it. So, how about we retire everything from “minnow” to “leftist pinhead” and get back to some adult conversation?
Roger Rabbit spews:

What an honor, Goldy!

“Roger Rabbit, Donna, Lucy … all one-dimensional characters who spout … catchphrases.”
Repetition is the only thing that works on small children, career criminals, unruly dogs, Republicans, and other unteachable creatures.
Roger Rabbit spews:
Hey Mark, if HorsesAss is flat reading, what accounts for your spending so much time here?
Mr. Cynical spews:
idiot===a feeble-minder person having a mental age not exceeding 3 years and requiring complete custodial care.
I would have to say that Stefan was certainly in the ballpark!!
Mr. Cynical spews:
moron==a feebleminded person or mental defective with a potential mental age between 8 and 12 who is capable of doing routine work inder supervision.
Stefan–
I’d be willing to “split the difference” with you. Goldy probably exceeds the definition of idiot status. However he certainly has yet to exceed the MORON level.

“Are you saying that audience is the sole measure of quality? If so, Limbaugh, Hannity, O’Reilly and Coulter have you soundly beaten.”
John spews:
OK, I see your point, but…
Mark, that doesn’t work. Allan Colmes says that dozens of times to Sean Hannity.
If you bring up a point and people don’t comment then assume people are in agreement with you.
Roger Rabbit spews:
The publicity Coulter gets isn’t the result of “liberal media bias.” The so-called “liberal media bias” is one of the right-wing noise machine’s biggest and most ridiculous lies. The only reason anyone has ever heard of Coulter is because the U.S. media is pervasively and powerfully biased in favor of the Far Right.
Mark spews:
Roger @ 32: “…if HorsesAss is flat reading, what accounts for your spending so much time here?”
1. Democrats are pessimists. Republicans are optimists. I keep hoping things will improve. [yeah, I know I’m setting you up for some Demo diatribe about national politics]
2. Glad to see I’m on your radar. But you should also have noticed that I’ve been here less and less often lately. Sometimes a thread catches my fancy, but zey haff alzo kvikly become tiresome.
Roger @ 31: “Repetition is the only thing that works on small children, career criminals, unruly dogs, Republicans, and other unteachable creatures.”
So are you saying Dems are like small children (naww, you guys don’t whine, cry and throw tantrums), unruly dogs (hmmm… anyone wanna go protest something?) or career criminals (that one is too easy…)? [since you line-itemed Republicans, they obviously aren’t a subset of the other categories you mention]

Somebody needs to be the Anti-Stefan, because Stefan lies through his ass.
Mark spews:
Roger @ 35
Goldy was the one that brought up the “if I get lots of traffic, I’m doing something right” logic. I wasn’t endorsing those people, just pointing out that their audiences make Goldy’s numbers look smaller than a rounding error.

Get real, Mark. Right wingers have declared war on liberals. We come to HorsesAss to shove their bullshit up their collective ass. They give no quarter, and neither do we.
When and if you wingers ever decide to rejoin the human race, stop lying through your teeth, and treat the other side (us) with respect, then you can have all the give-and-take debate you want.
But don’t expect us to be doormats for you assholes to wipe your feet on. We tried that for years, and it doesn’t work. Your side wanted war, and war is what you’re gonna get.

JDB spews:
If this was just an echo chamber, it wouldn’t be much of a blog (look at the way the minnow’s site is going down the drain since he threw off most of the liberals).
windie spews:
@38 I like the ‘republicans are optimists’ bit. Thats why they’ve spent so much time pefecting the campaign of the smear. The “Southern Strategy” is also a triumph of optimism!
also, @11
How can you talk about these things Mark, and accuse people of being ‘one dimensional catchphrase mongers’ and not mention MR. CAPSLOCK PINHEAD?
Mark spews:
Mark spews:
Roger @ 42
You’re a simpleton. The whole world isn’t black and white. Not all people with an interest in politics are partisan automatons like you, Donna, Lucy…
Since I know you’ve had one or two reasonable things to say in the past, I can only presume that when you get all wound up, it is a meds issue or perhaps the onset of dementia or senility.
Jon spews:
Mark: Roger Rabbitt is a prime example of the axiom “The party in power is arrogant and smug, the party out of power is insane.”

Yikes! Someone actually SLEPT with Ann Coulter? You mean … like … sex? Eeeeek! Did Hannity and Drudge get, you know, bugs?
Roger Rabbit spews:

A smear, by definition, is a lie. For example, the Swift Boat Veterans ran a smear campaign, not an “information” campaign, against John Kerry because what they said about him were lies.
Roger Rabbit spews:
47 & 48
Hmmm let’s see. The right calls liberals “commies,” “socialists,” “traitors,” “anti-American,” “un-American,” “unpatriotic,” and “terrorists;” and Ann Coulter says liberals should be put in “concentration camps” and “executed.”
You’re accusing ME of “getting wound up?”

Roger Rabbit spews:
You’re right about 1 thing, Mark: I’m a simple bunny. When somebody says they’re gonna take me out, I lock and load! What’s “insane” about that? Seems utterly rational to me.
RUFUS spews:
