Hustler Magazine wrote a story that Jerry Falwell’s “first time” was during a drunken incestuous rendezvous with his mother in an outhouse. Falwell sued, and a jury awarded him $200,000 in damages. The U.S. Supreme Court overturned this, holding that satire and parody are protected by the First Amendment.
Neither you nor Stefan have any basis to sue each other. Nor do David Irons or Ron Sims based on what you or Stefan are saying about them.

In Goldy’s defense… IIRC, he has stated on more than one occasion that this is a LEFT WING blog and that balance is not its/his goal. Fair enough. This is his soapbox.
There are all kinds of topics that Goldy deliberately avoids: Cindi Laws, Able Danger, Dem PDC fines and so on. But he has the right to.
My only advice would be to either look elsewhere for balanced news — the Christian Science Monitor being one of the most reputable — or carve out your own corner of the blogosphere.

Tell you what… when you have thousands of people coming to your website on a regular basis, curious to see what you have to say on the latest issues of the day, you can come back here and give me advice on how to run my blog. Personally, I’m pretty satisfied with my 2000 percent growth in traffic from this time last year. In fact, August is on track to be my best month ever, so I must be doing something right.
As to treating Stefan with respect… I treat him with all the respect he deserves, and considerably more respect than he shows others. The fact that I do take the time to ridicule and refute the lies and exaggerations that constitute the bulk of his blathering, proves exactly how much I really do respect him… or at least, respect the potential impact (u)SP could have if not appropriately countered. When we, as bloggers, criticize politicians and the media, we make ourselves fair game, and when Stefan attempts to score political points by cruelly maligning others, he makes himself an inviting target for my whimsy. Indeed, Stefan seems unperturbed at exchanging barbs… when he thinks he has the upper hand.
