By now, HA’s regular readers must have an inkling of how much time, energy and passion goes into making this blog informative, relevant and entertaining, and to be honest, I couldn’t possibly have kept up the pace without the help of my co-bloggers. Will Kelley-Kamp has been especially helpful covering very local issues I don’t have the time or knowledge (or interest) to cover myself, along with his OCD-like focus on all things transportation. Well, now it’s time to help Will out a little in appreciation of all his hard work.
Last summer Will quit his day job to go back to college, and the part time work just isn’t enough to pay all his bills, so I’m launching a little fundraiser on his behalf. Will is an integral part of HA, not just through his frequent posts, but in taking some of the daily pressure off me, and so I urge you all to show your appreciation by clicking on the “Donate” button below and throwing a little cash his way via PayPal. (And some kind words in the comment thread would likely be appreciated as well.)
All donations go directly to Will, not me — I won’t even see them. But I personally thank you for your generosity as well.

Honey, let me tell you that if you don’t get your education ASAP and you keep putting it off, well, you end up like you. Taking care of relatives, feeling sorry for yourself and suddenly thirty years passes by and you still don’t have the education.
You are already working on those regrets. Something I don’t have. I went to school. I suffered in a cramped apartment, ate beans, hot dogs and Kraft Mac & Cheese. I was the beneficiary of the kindness of others at that time. A meal here, $20 there. I am more than happy to pay it back by helping Will in a very small way. You don’t see me unload about my personal travails or suggest he stop or cut back on the blogging. The fact is he informs and entertains me. All of Goldy’s posters do the same.
He entertains you too. You keep posting your conflicting, confused and convoluted views, yet you don’t have a couple of bucks to “pay” for the entertainment you enjoy and a place to express yourself? I suggest you get a second or third job so you have a little discretionary spending money.

Well, no 4 year degree, a 2 year degree and I make plenty of money to support myself AND my ailing Grandmother, including paying all the medical expenses via paying her insurance and out of pocket expenses. So if ending up like me is a bad thing, I guess you live in a mansion and make millions. I know the hell I suffered while working FT and going to school FT for that 2 year degree….unfortunately I didn’t have people that would or could help me at the time. IF I had spare change I could donate, I most definately would. I made some suggestions from my experiences of hard times while in school to Will. I wanted to continue my education but it got to be too much and besides I was excelling in my job and was able to climb the ladder without furthering my education. I have plenty of “discretionary” income, I choose to spend it in other areas, alot each month does go to charities (Childrens and Humane Society).

Who knows how many other hands it was laundered through before it got to that group. Saying McDermott’s trip was “Saddam-financed” is like saying that if North Korea buys an International Harvester tractor from a European distributor the workers in the International Harveter plant took money from the North Koreans.
