Oh my God. Joe Kent. Joe Kent. Joe Goddam Kent. Unconfirmed, but still on the group chat. You know, in case you were wondering if the Proud Boys or other white supremacists had a representative in the planning of the strikes in Yemen.
Joe Kent. It’s bad enough that fucko was nominated, but until he’s confirmed, or goes through the proper channels to become acting, keep his ass off the chat. “has been the acting chief of staff to national intelligence director
Tulsi Gabbard, according to three sources, but his role has not been
publicly announced” is not a goddam title.
The group chat on a private app is ridiculous and dangerous on its own. The group chat with random people accidentally added is worse. The group chat with Joe Kent intentionally added is even worse.
I’m the best. Inflation not my fault!
Some of them are still dining out on this fabrication a decade later. Yet by comparsion it is truly a bona fide nothingburger in comparison to the Fat Hilter administration’s casual use of group texting to share classified defense intelligence.
Yet the United States was subjected to nearly a decade of FBI, OIG, House, and Senate investigations of Clinton’s use of Blackberry devices and email to discuss among various “top secret” details, a New York Times article that reported on a CIA drone strike in Pakistan, or Richard Holbroke’s travel itinerary.
The current Attorney General refuses to consider any contemplation of any investigation of these credible allegations of multiple federal criminal code violations by current administration personnel. The current Speaker is discussing abolishing entire agencies and Circuits from the federal judiciary if needed in order to prevent accountability. And the media are too scared to ask the current Senate Majority Leader anything at all.
Fascists are doing this.

In Maryland v. USDA (1:25-cv-00748) Judge Bredar (appointed with unanimous Republican consent) is leaning towards tailoring his PI to only those workers in states included in the lawsuit, meaning only employees in the 19 states and DC that are plaintif parties in the suit.

ICE can not transfer any detainee to a country other than country if origin without
A: written declaration of refusal by country of origin.
B: Immigration court review.
This is moving quickly toward Kristy Noem getting a photo op of return flights for some and second flight to country of origin for others out of El Salvador.
A DHS staffer inadvertently added a jouranlist to an email thread about an ICE raid in Denver. That staffer is now facing termination.

@13,
You know, retail is funny sometimes.
Conventionally, grocery is a small margin business built around driving volumes and holding down overhead. Grocers are masters at externalizing costs. Walmart is the market leader at both. It’s why so many of their employees rely on public assistance for basic expenses of living, and why their vendors bear so much of the costs of inventory, promotion, and discounting.
But if you give great big corporate grocers a massive tax cut it can produce weird consequences. The one we are all most familiar with is stock buybacks. Tax cuts often get spent on fluffing the stock price. But it’s also important to remember what these corporations pay taxes on: profits.
Conventionally most avoid paying taxes by avoiding profits through accounting games and using schemes like buybacks (which only face a 1% tax). But if you cut the tax rates low enough it can shift the incentives. Currently Fat Hitler is proposing a 15% tax rate, down from 21%, (the previous Republican cut from 35%).
There certainly are some big corporate retailers that take profit and pay dividends to shareholders. At a 15% rate there are likely to be more, especially in a falling market.
So how do corporate retailers shift their operations to produce more profit in an environment of rising inventory costs driven by tariffs, and declining consumer confidence resulting in less consumer spending? By shifting towards lower volumes and higher margins. Lower volumes mean lower inventory costs, and lower direct and indirect overhead, including fewer employees. Would this be a good time to point out that the two largest private employers in the U.S. are retailers?
So get ready y’all for even worse jacked up prices and big splashy layoffs coming to Walmart and Amazon soon.
The media really is the problem.

Columbia University’s interim president quit today, a week after caving in to Trump’s bullying, presumably with the blessings (or at the direction) of the trustees. Either she wants nothing to do with campus censorship, or got in over her head. Like the dumbfuck troll, she’s a doctor, and you hire doctors to cure illness and repair injuries, not for their leadership abilities (they usually don’t have any).
The trustees have begun a search for a new president. Good luck finding a serious academic willing to take over running a university that has embraced campus censorship. But they’ll probably find some lackey administrator who’s a bit more serious than the ex-politicians DeSantis puts in charge of his mission of wrecking higher education in Florida.

In Steve Bannon’s opinion, Trump is running a criminal administration.
https://thehill.com/homenews/5219377-trump-bannon-prison-warning/
I’ve gotta believe there’s insider trading by Trump, his family, and/or members of his administration. Trump’s words clearly are market moving, which creates an irresistible temptation, and the most logical explanation of his frequent flip-flops on tariffs is that he’s manipulating the market so he and his pals can buy on the dips and sell on the rebounds. And yes, if that’s happening, it violates criminal laws.
@4 If I find myself living in a modern-day Imperial Japan or Nazi Germany bent on territorial conquest, I’m not going to contribute to that illicit effort by joining the miliary, and no one else should either. However, I will always honor our veterans, except for Navy Seals and other “special operators” who commit war crimes and then solicit pardons from our draft dodger Napoleon emperor.
And here we thought the days of colonial conquest and enslavement of peoples were over. Trump is leading us back into the 1700s.
@6 Her hubby’s name is easy enough: “Ass Hat.”

N.B., you’d think the world’s richest asshole could afford to pay lawyers to advise him on whether something is illegal before he does it. He isn’t American, and I’m guessing he thinks he’s exempt from our laws.
@16 Have you noticed how many retailers go bankrupt? Retailing is a tough business in the best of times, and the times are about to get a lot worse for retailers. Walmart may survive by selling groceries and other essentials, but lower corporate tax rates won’t do a damn thing for businesses that don’t have customers because wage earners can’t afford their tariff-added prices.
@26 Yeah, and now all prospective students need to worry about is political interference with curricula and what professors are allowed to say in classrooms. And getting arrested and charged with terrorism if they happen to get caught up in a protester dragnet while walking from one classroom building to another, or leaving their dorms to go to a coffee bar.
Before long the “DEI Days” will feel like the good old campus days. Even for “disadvantaged” white students.

Just think of the lifelong damage that Welfare Queen YLB, and her fellow liberals, have done to those two fucked kids of hers.

The plight of boys and men, once sidelined by Democrats, is now a priority
In recent months, three Democratic governors have announced initiatives geared toward helping boys and men.
https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/plight-boys-men-democrats-wes-moore-gretchen-whitmer-rcna197129
It’s not because these Democrats care about Welfare Queen YLB’s fucked kids, mind you. They don’t.
But they are afraid of losing votes of young males to the GOP. Welfare Queen YLB’s fucked kids are a risk to the Democrat party.
After all these years – nearly two decades – of sucking Goldy’s bris-modified cock, Welfare Queen YLB finds that her two fucked kids are nothing more than a warning of what might befall the Democrat party if they don’t stop treating young men as nothing more than entitled predators who force weak, liberal, sissy men to enter footraces against girls while in high school. By claiming to be girls themselves.
Today’s Democrats want Sam Brinnon and Dylan Mulvaney to be the face of their party.
Or, in a pinch, maybe Mayor Pete. If he’s back from paternity leave, that is.
Maybe you guys and Welfare Queen YLB should begin wondering whether you truly understand tariffs.
