    The CFPB once described Credit Acceptance as “predatory,” but under Trump the agency has given up on prosecuting the firm.

    Jessie Garner bought a 2017 Hyundai Elantra with a loan from Credit Acceptance. The price for the car was more than $4,000 over the estimate of a “fair price” from Kelley Blue Book, the auto research firm, assuming the car was in good condition.

    The engine blew four months later, he said.

    “I paid $18,000 for a car I couldn’t drive,” Garner said. The company sued him for $18,776.

    One more tale of woe by a victim of predatory lending:

    In court last month, Vanderhoof admitted he owed the company money, but he also asked the judge for permission to speak freely. Vanderhoof told the judge that the company and its dealers should do a better job of ensuring that the vehicles being sold were in good shape.

    The judge then entered a judgment against him obliging him to pay the full amount.

    “What they did to me was insane,” Vanderhoof said after the hearing. He said he supported Trump for president, but he said the CFPB should have continued its lawsuit against the company.

    “Absolutely,” he said. “When it comes to bigger companies, money is the root of all evil, and they don’t care how they get it.”

    I’m not opposed to employers offering special accommodation to creampuffs whose feelings are bruised by the existence of trans people. It’s usually not that hard to assign them to a different ward, classroom, or department. The transgenders would rather not be exposed to them anyway. But let’s all stop pretending that people who hate others because of how God made them are Christians. They’re entitled to their religion, and we can’t stop them from calling their religion whatever they like, but any religion based on hate isn’t a Christian religion.

    In general, yes; but in this case, I don’t want the murderer back. He was given asylum in our country, and abused it by participating in teen gang activity, and killing someone and wounding a bystander in a gang-related shooting. It cost the taxpayers a million dollars to prosecute and incarcerate him.

    Indeed, he accepts that he’s worn out his welcome in the U.S., and was already planning to return to Vietnam, his native country, which is where he belongs in terms of ethnicity, language, and culture. So instead of fucking with him, why not let him leave of his own volition?

    If Vietnam doesn’t want him, our State Department should go to work to facilitate his return. Whether Vietnam wants him should be irrelevant because he’s their citizen, and they have a duty to take him, but they have a prerogative to figure out what to do with him after he returns there. If they lock him up because they don’t want him on their streets, that’s his problem.

    ICE is abusive by sending him to Africa, Djibouti, or some other country he has no connection to. If this is to inflict additional punishment on him for his crimes in the U.S., it’s unconstitutional. Even if it’s only for convenience, that’s not acceptable, because they have a duty to return him to Vietnam, and Vietnam has a duty to take him.

    This is prisoner abuse, and the public shouldn’t stand for it.
