Voters misled by Forward Seattle’s corrupt signature gathering tactics into signing a minimum wage repeal referendum they did not support can actually withdraw their signatures from the minimum wage petition. Signatures must be withdrawn in writing, and they have to be submitted before the close of business tomorrow (Thursday).

In order to expedite the process, copies of the letter are available at SEIU 775 in downtown Seattle. If you stop by the SEIU 775 office in downtown Seattle — 215 Columbia St, Seattle, WA 98104 — you can sign the letter to withdraw your signature and we will make sure it gets to the appropriate place. If you want to withdraw your signature, please stop by no later than 3:00 pm THURSDAY (i.e. tomorrow) so we can ensure they get to the right place on time and your signature is successfully withdrawn.
By all accounts, Forward Seattle was just on the cusp of delivering enough signatures to qualify for the ballot. Don’t reward them for their dishonesty: withdraw your signature before it’s too late!

The fact they have to lie to voters to get signatures tells you they don’t have any valid arguments against the $15 minimum wage.
Meanwhile, a Pew poll shows only one-third of Americans believe wealth is a result of hard work, and being poor is due to lack of effort.

Which almost exactly coincides with how many Americans are politically conservative. In other words, those beliefs are an ideology, not real-world truths. Which is what I’ve been saying all along.
Conservatives argue that, in a free market, workers are paid what they’re worth. By that reasoning, slaves aren’t worth anything, no matter how hard they work or how much they produce. I argue that wage rates are determined by power relationships, specifically the relative bargaining power of employer and worker. Slaves work for nothing, not because they’re worth nothing, but because the slaveowner is in a position to force them to. In labor markets, bargaining power is never equal, and the deck is always stacked in favor of employers, unless workers have a strong union or government intervenes on their side. That’s what minimum wage laws are, government intervention to protect workers from exploitation. And the reason minimum wage laws don’t destroy jobs is because the employers still need the work done, regardless of whether they pay $7.25, $9.32, or $15 an hour to the workers who do it.

To the contrary, headless. It the minimum if going to be $15, then I’m serious about $25+ an hour for me. I didn’t go through all the training and crap to get where I am now to make the same as the minimum wage.
Ii doesn’t matter if it gets on the ballot or not. If seatac voted for 15 seattle will by a higher margin.
all people who are living and breathing are ENTITLED to life support and habitat, BAR NONE. A man who steals to eat is not a thief. A man who deprives or steals to enrich himself or another is not just a thief, but also evil.
People are not born evil, they become that way thru a process of hording. These types of people and their supporters and enablers need to be charged under a new set of CRIMES AGAINST LIFE & DEMOCRACY and they need to be stripped of what they have and go to prison and be forever barred from holding any public office.
DEMOCRACY cannot survive when wealthy predators keep burning it by making efforts to destroy the relationships of individual equally owned shared power. Democracy can only be preserved AND ENJOYED when thieving predators are criminally charged. After all, the rights and privileges we fought and some died for in the past are your heritage, your property, yours owned by you and all others equally and are sacred for you and all others that follow.
Write the law- that elected persons who seek to steal our heritage, and such persons who act in such a way as to deceive persons, be criminally charged. This must be done because if you do not do this, you will find yourself fighting forever in a war against the liars, thieves and horders.
