Thank you Jim “Hill” King for pointing out that the documents filed in tomorrow’s Supreme Court hearing are now available for download from the Secretary of State’s website. And of course, a special thanks to the people at SOS for doing the work to make these documents public.
Let’s have an informed debate.
Jim King spews:
And you know what you get just by looking at the documents that have been posted? Former Washington State Attorney General Ken Eikenberry and the “shudder” BIAW have teamed up to file amici curiae
jcricket spews:
Rumor has it tomorrow’s hearing will be televised live on CSPAN or CSPAN2.
Jim King spews:
CSPAN 2 had it last time… Both TVW and NWCN will be broadcasting it…
One post per hour- everyone must be reading the documents…
jcricket spews:
Think they’re going to rule from the bench, recess and come back in the afternoon, or take more than a day? Any bets?
Josef spews:
I’ll read the docs…
Bob from Boeing spews:
End of the day- you heard it here
Jim King spews:
So- having read all of the court materials…
Ginger or Mary Ann?
Erik spews:
Yes I agree, I believe the decision will be at the end of the day as well.
This time the hearing is different. The Republican Secretary of State Sam Reed’s office has stated that the actions King County has taken are consistent with the advice they give each county. Reed’s office also states that many of the counties have done exactly as King County and interpret the ability to re-canvass the same as the Democrats.
The Rs are left arguing that the Republican Secretary of State is wrong, and King County represented by Norm Maleng is wrong as well as the other counties. Is Reed really part of the evil democratic conspiracy? Could it be that Reed is correct and the votes are permitted to be counted?
The only party that agrees with Vance and the Rs is the BIAW who filed a completely unbiased “friend of the court” Amicus brief with Ken Eikenberry.
Poor Eikenberry. He lost to Mike Lowry.

jcricket spews:
Why isn’t King County going to wait until the end of the day to announce their results, then? If I were them I’d wait until the last minute tomorrow.

#1. F— THE BIAW. Rossifarians don’t want nor need them around. All we need is my Marummy, my blog and Horsesass.org. If I had to choose between bombing Dennis Braddock (of DSHS) and BIAW, odds are I’d bomb BIAW. They are Tim Eyman’s brothers & sisters.
#2. I think the SecState has good intentions and is nonpartisan in this matter.
Jim King spews:
KING TV News is reporting that one or both of the political parties may release unofficial numbers tonight. I figure King County believes it cannot keep this secret, so best to release the numbers themselves…
Jim King spews:
Also, Larry Phillips is whining about being subpoenoed by the GOP…
Well, the TRO is preparatory to formal legal action, and subnpoenas happen. I think Larry is trying to outcry Paul Berendt.
Are there no adults on either side supervising the kindegarten? Or is that the role of the Supremes?
Jim King spews:
And in the P-I, courtesy of Associated Press- “Democrat Christine Gregoire has promised to concede if she loses the recount. But on Tuesday her spokesman said if the Democrats lose the state Supreme Court case she may pursue an appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court.”
Can we all here agree, neither side is holding on to the high ground, except Sam Reed, and both sides now are very clearly doing whatever they deem necessary to WIN
Jim King spews:
Also from the P-I/AP- “Seven justices will hear the case. Three of the regular nine justices are out of town on previously scheduled trips, and one temporary judge will join the court.”
Josef spews:
“Larry Phillips is whining about being subpoenoed by the GOP…”
I saw that coming. A-hole. New King County Council Chair: Christine Gregoire. Why not?
And if the Gregocrats want my deposition, “BRING IT ON!”
Bob from Boeing spews:
Depost you Josef- for what? Did your vote not count?

Oh, I meant for ANY reason…
BESIDES, THE AP WIRE IS UNCONFIRMED…
jcricket spews:
Keep holdin’ out hope Josef. Just don’t be let down too badly if things don’t go your way. I’m just glad you haven’t started making your posts all CAPS and BOLD :)
jcricket spews:
BTW, PI article quotes KC election spokeperson as saying that they will release official results at 3:30 pm tomorrow.
Bob from Boeing spews:
AP has been around for a log time – would not have put this out if they did not have several excellent sources. They want a big time a scoop, but do not want to be fools. Me thinks it is acccurate.
jcricket spews:
Article in the Times this morning describing the amicus brief from the BIAW.
