Burner passes the $3 million mark

Democratic challenger Darcy Burner spoke at a rally this afternoon:

“A long time ago, the Republicans announced that Reichert had raised enough money to put this seat out of reach of any challengers,” Burner told the crowd. “They thought they could buy this seat. But I’m happy to tell you that about ten minutes ago, thanks to the thousands of supporters who have invested in this race, we passed the $3 million mark!”

Wow.

Reichert likes to belittle his opponent for her lack of experience, but Burner has outraised him in every filing period this year, and her $3 million-plus total ranks her amongst the five top Democratic challengers nationwide. Not bad for a political novice, huh?

That’s what hard work and smarts does for you.

    And the Seattle Times says Darcy has a “thin resume” for Congress? She obviously knows how to (a) organize a campaign, (b) raise funds, (c) read the public mood. Sounds qualified to me! What has RubberStampReichert done for you lately?

    Oh, puh-leeez… There is NOTHING saying that she, herself, did any of this. With EITHER party, all you need is the national machine behind you (and no major skeletons in your closet) and the money can flow.

    Also… and to your TOTAL credit, Goldy, you and the other bloggers have directed a fair amount of funds and attention to her campaign. So… unless you ARE a minion in her campaign, she had nothing to do with that.
