You don’t hear much about Patty Murray in the role as president pro tem of the Senate. I suppose it’s mostly ceremonial. Still the ceremony of not standing behind Benjamin Netanyahu when he addresses Congress is pretty big.

Man big political news: Washington’s primary ballot dropped this week. You should have it in your hands this week. If you’re paying attention, you probably know how you’re voting on some big ticket races. But what about further down the ballot? Good news! Other people have put in the work.
– Fuse does great work statewide.
– The Stranger has Seattle area endorsements.
– The Sierra Club has endorsements for environmentally minded people.
If you have any other voters guides, feel free to leave them in the comments. And while you’re waiting for that ballot, maybe go wash your hands. And get vaccinated or boosted if you’re eligible.

Gosh. I have to be at work soon. I hope Microsoft resolves whatever this is before I get there. Really seems like a pain. Being several hours behind, if this is resolved, us Best Coast folks won’t lose half of the day???
Anyway, please wash your hands right now and get vaccinated or boosted if you’re eligible.

Man what the fuck? Adrian Diaz threatened to sue Publicola. Absolutely disgusting. Diaz, stop being a jerk on top of, allegedly, the sexual harrassment and discrimination. Anyway, I’m glad it was resolved, but if you can throw some dosh over there, now would be a good time.

Please don’t shoot anyone.

– Seattle isn’t the only place that can’t deal with homelessness in anything approaching decency. So congratulations to Lacey on winning your court case that allows cruelty to the least of us.
– Don’t worry, Seattle you aren’t just catching strays.
– Also, Seattle, throw the book at the officer who laughed at Jaahnavi Kandula’s death.
– Is this too Seattle based? Here’s the info on the transportation levy.
– Anyway, please wash your hands right now and get vaccinated or boosted if you’re eligible.

So excited to see signs of the extended 1 Line popping up when I take light rail. Sorry I don’t know how to show a Bluesky post, but I was excited first about new maps and now the electronic signs being updated. It’s so cool to see my region doing this cool thing.
Anyway please wash your hands right now and get vaccinated or boosted if you’re eligible.

Hey, hey everyone. While we’re in the middle of the heatwave, can you please, please, please be respectful of people with the windows open? I like in the urban core of Seattle and I don’t have AC. So I have my window open. Like, I don’t like cars in general, but if you’re revving it after midnight or cranking loud music, don’t. Just fucking don’t.
Anyway, please wash your hands right now and get vaccinated or boosted if you’re eligible.
Friday But It Feels Weird Since Thursday Was A Holiday Open Thread
I hope you all had a lovely 4th. I went to a citizenship ceremony at Seattle Center that was lovely. But I was probably in the sun for too long.
And man is it going to be too hot for a while. So remember your sunscreen wear a hat, and drink more water than you think you need. Make peeing clear your goal if you’ve been outside for long stretches.
Anyway, please wash your hands right now and get vaccinated or boosted if you’re eligible.

Hey, maybe not so many fireworks, OK?

I know actual litigation would drag on and be miserable. But geez. Boeing really deserves a lot harsher punishment than the plea deal they’re likely to take. Honestly, it would be good for company executives to suffer real consequences.
Anyway, please wash your hands right now and get vaccinated or boosted if you’re eligible.
Friday
– After having not watched the debate, I am still firmly in the Biden camp.
– Moar sidewalks, but you know, actually fund them.
– Moar CARE Program.
– There are too many killer cops. Prosecute them all.
– Anyway please wash your hands right now and get vaccinated or boosted if you’re eligible .

Jesus, man. SPD arresting people for writing “peaceful protest” and “fuck SPS” in chalk. Of course it’s for their viewpoint rather than some anti-chalk stance. Chalk. Fucking arrested people for goddam chalk at the height of the pandemic. $680,000 seems like a small amount for 4 people.
