And from Native Americans. And from the Audubon Society.

Line loss is typically the problem with remote energy-generating projects. This one converts AC current to DC in order to minimize line loss to, supposedly, only 3-4%. Lines used with solar installs lose 2V about every 100 feet.

    Senate
Fetterman: Democratic base becoming ‘increasingly anti-American’

“Well, I mean, you know, in 2016, it was much more about the minimum wage and some other very basic kinds of thing,” Fetterman said. “And now that’s, that’s just turned into much more standing with like Cuba, standing with Venezuela, standing with the Iranian regime and, and turn that into much more becoming more increasingly anti-American for me. So, my views really haven’t changed that much.”
    …
“What’s really changed is the party,” he continued. “And in 2024, I was campaigning for Kamala Harris there as a Democrat. It was very clear we were going to lose. And a lot of the excesses that we’ve had in 2020 came back to revisit … the excess of the party back then summoned the second term of the Trump administration.”

I’d have to add the incompetence of the Biden administration and the moronic choices of Boxcheck Momala and Tim Walz to that summons, but yeah. Liberals were unhinged.

“And now I think we effectively can count that a lot of those traditional union members have already left the Democratic Party,” the Pennsylvania Democrat said. “And that’s where we are. And it’s been a serious realignment of parts of our base.”

We’re about two union endorsements of the GOP candidate for president in 2028 from what’s left of the SPLC labeling the UAW and the Teamsters as hate groups.

    Toyota bZ4X Club ·
    Jacquie Matson
    ·
So, I learned a very hard lesson the other day. I was driving from Las Vegas NV to Reno NV for my nephews graduation. I put the address into abrp and the very first stop I had to go to were level 2 chargers. I looked at my miles on the car and how many miles to the next stop and said ok, I have about 20 miles extra to get there plus I’ve read there’s a buffer if the battery hit zero miles. What I did not take into consideration was the drive being uphill and desert winds.
Needless to say, I didn’t make it. I was stuck on the side of the road for almost 12 hours waiting for a tow, when the tow truck finally came, the chargers in the next town were not even working. Probably why abrp didn’t have them listed, the tow truck driver was nice and towed us to the next town to get a charge. A drive that should’ve took me 9ish hours ended up being 32 hours and a $261 tow charge. Very hard lesson was learned.

    And not just for Teslas.

We accept that since any society and its governance will be the result of the work of people it will be imperfect. But we don’t allow that to be used as an excuse to abandon society and give into to violent anarchy.

We are pragmatists. We don’t believe in crusading moral panic structured upon superstition and irrational fear. We are eager to let people who need to cling to their superstitions and irrational, supernatural fears continue to do so. But we require that they check those at the door when they enter the civic realm.

We are firmly convinced by the tide of human history that, despite some disastrous stumbles and frequent imperfections, forming rational, self-governing societies is a well proven means to produce sweeping benefits leading to the betterment of all people. So yes, we completely reject your provably false claims that “government is the enemy”.

Thus, American liberalism is the ongoing struggle to support these principles and enact them through government policy. It’s not, and never was, a promise to make everybody happy all the time. Instead it is the promise to make more people happier in the long run. And unlike conservatives, we have a really good track record to back up that promise.

    Be specific.

Let’s be specific about Joe Republican:

Day in the Life of Joe Republican

    By John Gray Cincinnati, Ohio

Joe gets up at 6:00am to prepare his morning coffee. He fills his pot full of good clean drinking water because some liberal fought for minimum water quality standards. He takes his daily medication with his first swallow of coffee. His medications are safe to take because some liberal fought to insure their safety and work as advertised.

All but $10.00 of his medications are paid for by his employer’s medical plan because some liberal union workers fought their employers for paid medical insurance, and now Joe gets it too. He prepares his morning breakfast, bacon and eggs this day. Joe’s bacon is safe to eat because some liberal fought for laws to regulate the meat packing industry.

Joe takes his morning shower reaching for his shampoo; his bottle is properly labeled with every ingredient and the amount of its contents because some liberal fought for his right to know what he was putting on his body and how much it contained. Joe dresses, walks outside and takes a deep breath. The air he breathes is clean because some tree hugging liberal fought for laws to stop industries from polluting our air. He walks to the subway station for his government subsidized ride to work; it saves him considerable money in parking and transportation fees. You see, some liberal fought for affordable public transportation, which gives everyone the opportunity to be a contributor.

Joe begins his work day; he has a good job with excellent pay, medical benefits, retirement, paid holidays and vacation because some liberal union members fought and died for these working standards. Joe’s employer pays these standards because Joe’s employer doesn’t want his employees to call the union. If Joe is hurt on the job or becomes unemployed he’ll get a worker compensation or unemployment check because some liberal didn’t think he should loose his home because of his temporary misfortune.

Its noon time, Joe needs to make a bank deposit so he can pay some bills. Joe’s deposit is federally insured by the FDIC because some liberal wanted to protect Joe’s money from unscrupulous bankers who ruined the banking system before the depression.

Joe has to pay his Fannie Mae underwritten mortgage and his below market federal student loan because some stupid liberal decided that Joe and the government would be better off if he was educated and earned more money over his life-time.

Joe is home from work; he plans to visit his father this evening at his farm home in the country. He gets in his car for the drive to dad’s; his car is among the safest in the world because some liberal fought for car safety standards. He arrives at his boyhood home. He was the third generation to live in the house financed by Farmers Home Administration because bankers didn’t want to make rural loans. The house didn’t have electricity until some big government liberal stuck his nose where it didn’t belong and demanded rural electrification. (Those rural Republicans would still be sitting in the dark.)

He is happy to see his dad who is now retired. His dad lives on Social Security and a union pension because some liberal made sure he could take care of himself so Joe wouldn’t have to. After his visit with dad he gets back in his car for the ride home.

He turns on a radio talk show. The host keeps saying that liberals are bad and conservatives are good. (He doesn’t tell Joe that his beloved Republicans have fought against every protection and benefit Joe enjoys throughout his day.) Joe agrees, “We don’t need those big government liberals ruining our lives; after all, I’m a self made man who believes everyone should take care of themselves, just like I have.”

Was testing Gemeni with a little piece of Northwest Railroad lore, from 46 years ago tomorrow. As the ash was bringing air travel to a halt and closing pretty much every road in Eastern Washington. Amtrak could have gotten away with having Train 7 hold in Spokane, but ash was not affecting the locomotive prime mover, so it continued on to Seattle via Pasco and Yakima. Specifically, I was wondering could it be done today, with the newer locomotives, or was it specific to the F-40 series. While other locomotives of the time would be able to, the ALC-42 Charger, between the emissions controls, and being a more fine tuned machine, it wouldn’t be able to handle it. Specifically, the computer would shut it down as a precaution.

Another reason current Amtrak trains wouldn’t be able to do what 7 did that day, was that when Amtrak started, and Spokane trains were consolidated at the old Northern Pacific depot, the connection to the former Great Northern Main to Stevens Pass at Latah Junction hadn’t been completed, so Amtrak ran the EB via Pasco and Yakima and eliminated the Portland Section. In 1980 they were already planning to return the EB to Stevens Pass, but on May 18, as The engineer slowed it to a crawl because of visibility, the crew was ordered wherever they paralleled a highway, to give stranded motorists a lift to the nearest town.

LIRR is formerly Pennsylvania Railroad, sold to the state in the 60s as the PRR was getting ready for what turned out to be the stupidest railroad merger of the time, with New York Central. Merged in 68, in 1970 they were bankrupt. I have seen arguments from both sides of Penn Central. Some say two parallel railroads could work if it wasn’t for Northeast Industrial Decline.

I believe EF-111s used to be based there, and in the 90s Air Combat Command was experimenting with Composite Wings integrating different aircraft types. The 366th was probably the best, flying F-15Cs for Air Superiority, F-16Cs for SEAD/Wild Weasel, F-15Es for precision strikes, B-52s and later B-1s, plus it’s own tanker squadron. B-1s of the 34th BS were later sent back to the 28th BW in SD, as the 8th Air Force was re-integrated with the Minutemen force under Global Strike Command.

The perpetrators of the terrorist attack on a San Diego mosque are reported to have been associated with a well known, ultra violent neo Nazi terrorist group (no, not the GOP this time).

The Insane Failing Cult Leader’s counter terrorism chief, Sebastian Gorka, had the group and all others like it removed from federal terrorism watch lists last year. So San Diego police, who had been tipped off that one of the perpetrators (a minor) might be suicidal and were seeking his whereabouts, had no federal support that could have alerted them to the possible danger of a targeted mass shooting.

In fact none of these ultra violent, extremist right wing terrorist networks currently operating in our communities are being monitored or tracked by the federal government under the GOP. Yet these groups are generally understood to be responsible for more than 90% of terrorist attacks within the U.S.
