Dyslexia is a medical diagnosis that was well established by the time Newsom was entering elementary school. It wasn’t especially remarkable, and interventions were resonably effective by then.
Chances are most of you reading this know someone with dyslexia. It’s not unlikely someone reading this has dyslexia.
An older sibling was diagnosed in elementary school. They qualified for a tuition scholarship to a highly respected private university on the west coast and graduated suma cum laude. Gained admission to the law school and served as editor of that school’s law review. Did this in spite of only mid-high SATs and LSAT scores. Took the bar twice to pass. Clerked for a very well known, crumudgeonly, slave driving 9th Circuit Judge. Dyslexia famously makes some forms of standardized testing extremely difficult. The data bears this out. It’s one of the most compelling knocks against standardized testing, since there are innumerable good examples of high performing individuals with dyslexia who have corresponding histories of miserable standardized test scores.
A physician would know all this. Even one who had been kicked out of his profession.

Another such victim was interviewed on six separate occasions by the FBI over a two year span of time. Of these two victim’s multiple interview records only one record was included in the materials released by the DOJ. That was an interview record in which Donald Trump’s name was not mentioned.
