    Kenyan national becomes 74th person indicted in Feeding Our Future scheme

    A Kenyan national named Ahmednaji Maalim Aftin Sheikh has been indicted for his alleged role in the $300 million Feeding Our Future fraud scheme. The 28-year-old is facing one count of conspiracy to commit international money laundering.

    Sheikh is the 74th person to be charged in connection with the COVID-era scheme that saw fraudsters steal hundreds of millions of dollars from a federal child nutrition program which reimbursed participants for feeding hungry children. According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Minnesota, Sheikh is a resident of Kenya.

    Earlier this year, Sheikh’s brother, Abdiaziz Farah, was sentenced to 28 years in prison for his role in a criminal operation that used the Feeding Our Future nonprofit organization to fraudulently receive federal funds between 2020 and 2022. In short, Farah and his co-conspirators falsely claimed they were providing millions of meals to kids.

    Liberal judges in Minneapolis refused to go along with it.

The agency failed to follow-up on several complaints about Feeding Our Future, allowed the nonprofit to investigate itself, and missed multiple chances to deny applications that allowed the organization to continue operating, according to the report.

    These failures on the part of the state of Minnesota, Welfare Queen YLB wants us to believe, are the federal government’s fault.

    According to the report, MDE conducted a virtual visit to a Feeding Our Future food site in April 2020 by viewing video live streamed from Bock’s cell phone. MDE saw about 30 children receive meals in 15 minutes. The report says that Bock’s phone died, but that she told MDE that 1,800 children received meals over the next hour while her phone was dead.

    “We have no evidence indicating MDE investigated this irregularity,” the report says.

Most of the fraud occurred on Trump’s first watch, and the FBI got involved a month after Biden took office. So it’s really weird that the dumbfuck troll chose this example to bash a Democratic governor. I don’t think he did any homework before he posted that silly comment.

    On September 20, 2022, the U.S. Attorney Andrew M. Luger announced federal charges against 47 former Feeding Our Future employees for their involvement in the nation’s largest pandemic-related fraud scheme.

    A federal court handed down the first sentence in the scandal on October 15, 2024. Mohamed Ismail received a 12 year sentence; two of the three counts involved conspiracy. He was ordered to pay more than $47 million in restitution.
