I’m filling in below them by selling naked puts that will expire worthless unless the shares tank and I’ll probably extend the expiration dates by rolling the trades over, but right now I’m looking at a few hundred thousand dollars of paper losses on these positions.
By paper losses I mean massive gains that I won’t receive because I assumed more conservative market gains would be had. I’m not actually losing money, I’m only handing it to another investor – maybe a Democrat who publicly screamed that the sky would fall while privately betting big on Donald Trump’s stock market.
