Please join us this evening as the Seattle Chapter of Drinking Liberally gets together over conversation and drinks. Tonight we will raise a glass in honor of former Seattle PI columnist Joel Connelly, who died last week at the age of 78. Joel was a regular at our DL until a few years ago. He was a friendly and calming presence, and was always willing to share with us his wisdom and recollections from a lifetime in politics and media.
We meet tonight and every Tuesday at the Roanoke Park Place Tavern, 2409 10th Ave E, Seattle. Youโll find us in the back room starting about 8:00pm.
Chapters of Living Liberally are all over the placeโฆif you can’t make it to the Seattle chapter, stop by another chapter near you.

The SLPC paid the KKK to stage hate crimes.
So the SLPC could claim continued relevance.
Because claiming Ben Carson was an extremist did not work out so well.

Looking like VA’s gerrymandering referendum will narrowly pass. It’s failing by 4 points but the gap is quickly narrowing and most of the outstanding votes are blue.

It must be Taco Tuesday in Washington DC!
At present there is no Iranian leadership with which to negotiate. Anyone non-military has been arrested.
So you libbies get to call DJT47 a chicken while he collapses the Iranian economy to get to the military. How fun for you!

@1 According to DOJ’s indictment, SPLC at most collected information by paying informants, something law enforcement does all the time. If this is a crime,* they’ll have to prosecute a lot of cops and FBI agents. Of course, what this really is, is DOJ going to bat for the hate groups SPLC targets.
* Buying information, as far as I know, isn’t a crime. If it is Facebook, Amazon, Google, and every other big tech company is going to jail. This indictment is nothing more than a PR stunt, and will be tossed when it gets to court. ๐คก๐คก๐คก๐คก๐คก๐คก๐คก๐คก๐คก๐คก๐คก๐คก๐คก๐คก
@5 For a rudderless state they’re pretty effective at closing the strait. The reality is Iran began planning for decapitation strikes 20 years ago, and decentralized their military commands, so the U.S. is dealing with a hydra. Good luck trying to cut the heads off all those snakes.
With passage of redistricting in VA here’s where the redistricting rubber hits the House majority road:
VA-01 Safe D
VA-02 Likely D
VA-05 Safe D
VA-06 Likely D
These are all currently MAGA incumbent rated Lean R or better by Cook.
…and rapidly progressing to a nuclear weapon they can reach Israel or Diego Garcia with.
All thanks to the Insane Failing Cult Leader.
@11 What’s good for the goose, is good for the gander.
7,
OC representing Atlantic is going to absolutely drool for the opportunity to depose that clown and put his calendar and daily diary through discovery.
Too bad their client duty obliges them to seek dismissal first.
It’s already a matter of public record (filmed live) that he got drunk at the Olympics while traveling overseas at taxpayer expense “on official duty”.
@6 He’s running out of bullets.
