Tonight we will raise a glass in honor of former Seattle PI columnist Joel Connelly, who died last week at the age of 78. Joel was a regular at our DL until a few years ago. He was a friendly and calming presence, and was always willing to share with us his wisdom and recollections from a lifetime in politics and media.
We meet tonight and every Tuesday at the Roanoke Park Place Tavern, 2409 10th Ave E, Seattle. You’ll find us in the back room starting about 8:00pm.

@1 According to DOJ’s indictment, SPLC at most collected information by paying informants, something law enforcement does all the time. If this is a crime,* they’ll have to prosecute a lot of cops and FBI agents. Of course, what this really is, is DOJ going to bat for the hate groups SPLC targets.
* Buying information, as far as I know, isn’t a crime. If it is Facebook, Amazon, Google, and every other big tech company is going to jail. This indictment is nothing more than a PR stunt, and will be tossed when it gets to court. 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
