It’s Tuesday. So please join us for an evening of politics and conversation over a pint at the Seattle Chapter of Drinking liberally.

We meet every Tuesday at the Montlake Ale House, 2307 24th Avenue E. Starting time is 8:00pm. Some people show up earlier for Dinner.




Can’t make it to Seattle tonight? Check out one of the other DL meetings over the next week. The Tri-Cities chapter of Drinking liberally meets every Tuesday night, and Drinking Liberally Tacoma meets this Thursday.

    However, on Thursday, New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu, a Democrat, abstained from partisan themes when he introduced an opening NABJ session that addressed the killing of unarmed Florida teenager Trayvon Martin. He pointed out New Orleans’ high murder rate and noted that the victims were disproportionately African American.

    From 1979 through today, New Orleans has experienced an average of about 241 murders each year, the mayor said, holding up three thick folders containing files on murder victims.

    Something Puddy has always said. Black journalists and black leaders will not address blacks killing blacks. Where is Al NotSoSharpton and Jesse HiJackson on this issue? But Tavis Smiley made the most interesting comment on his show. Listen carefully. Very telling.

    Wow, you DUMMOCRAPTS are an amazing group!

    DETROIT (Talk Radio 1270) Congressman Hansen Clarke, D-13th District, was forced into an unusual position Wednesday, responding to allegations that he’s masquerading as black to get votes.

    Clarke is running for the newly redrawn 14th Congressional District, which includes Detroit, against two black women, Mary Waters and Brenda Lawrence, plus white men state Rep. Gary Peters and newcomer Bob Costello. Clarke joined one debate this election, a digital debate for CBSDetroit, then said he would no longer debate because the racial rhetoric was becoming overwhelming.

    A robocall allegedly went on in the district this week saying Clarke is “not black.” And Waters told the Detroit Free Press she’s the only black Detroiter in the race.
