There is certainly precedent for this. After all, the least competent commentary on HA is from its oldest regular, a failed former attorney and perpetual useless, bloviating fool. Imagine how much more relevant HA would be had he been cut off from spews when he was only 54.

Tucker Carlson will soon follow Nick Fuentes into the mainstream of the Democrat party. He’s already passed the Democrats’ primary litmus test: hatred of Jews and their mother country.

P.S., that doesn’t sound like a regime that’s been obliterated, defeated, subjected, and is begging for mercy.
VT, you just don’t get it: Trump is doing the exact opposite of what he said was going to do during the 2024 campaign. He has embarked on yet another “forever war” with Iran (as the most recent “villain” in Trump’s world), he has set us up for a major recession with all the oil business, and he has to kowtow to Netanyahu because the Zionist Cabal has some serious Epstein dirt on his past behavior.
Trump is not the person for whom you voted, and you’re not savvy enough to see that.
That’s pretty unambiguous language. It looks to me like the Virginia Constitution places no limits or restrictions on this legislative authority, so long as the legislative processes that are also required are similarly adhered to.
Predictably we can now watch in awe and amusement as Republicans, including the lying troll, who have for the last 18 months threatened incessantly with rhetoric emphasizing the exercise of raw political power as a justification unto itself, suddenly switch to complaining about “fairness” and “respect”, and accompanying those complaints with threats of undefined payback “in the future”.
Fuck ’em. This is a war to preserve democracy.
You know if you offer a thing, say a cell phone, and you take deposits for when the thing is ready and then you announce the thing will never be ready and you spent all the deposits developing a thing, that’s a crime.
I can’t believe the very same people who stole the money from a veterans aid charity would do something like this.
But even more, people put down a deposit? Special kind of stupid. I’ll bet Dumbfuck is still checking the mailbox for his.
https://www.rawstory.com/trump-cuba-war-frustrated-president/
Is the moron leading our country this stupid? Yes, he is. For starters, I’m pretty sure the folks in Havana are onto his decapitation shtick and are taking precautions accordingly. And apart from the likelihood of getting bogged down in another unwinnable war, even more seriously, his threats against Cuba could lead to a second Cuban Missile Crisis, this time with a different outcome.
https://bcfausa.org/institute-for-the-study-of-war-russian-threat-to-deploy-nuclear-missiles-in-venezuela-and-cuba/
This is untrue.
You were just too dumb to pay attention. And like all the other Trump voters, you allowed your bigotry and lust for authority to selectively filter what you heard or read. Trump literally promised all of this shit many, many times. His touring show of outdoor and arena campaign public events featured stump speeches that emphasized all of this, from the occupying armies of federal goons attacking our communities, to the building and operating of huge human torture factories, to the massive explosion of the debt, to the gutting of healthcare, to the unrestricted military support for Israel in their response to the Oct 7 attacks. He repeatedly talked about attacking Iran on many occasions going all the way back to 2016.
Trump is exactly who the lying troll and all the other 77 million of Trump’s voters voted for last November, including the new war of conquest on behalf of Israel in the Persian Gulf.
@3 When you’re losing every argument, censoring your opponent is the last resort.
Given the shit Republicans are trying to pull, the Democrats should take nothing off the table.
@4 Rather more likely is the possibility you’ll be stuck with him as your 2028 nominee.
https://thehill.com/opinion/white-house/5870707-tucker-carlson-2028-presidential-run/
@12
You’re entitled to your fucked-up opinion.
@8 He gets it, all right. It’s not for nothing that “troll” is half of his screen name. He’s a TROLL, and when he posts, he’s TROLLING.
Trump had a hard-on for Cuba. He doesn’t have to do jack-shit about Cuba. They’re already a fucking commie cancer ward.
@15 VT doesn’t think so. His response to losing his arguments is term limiting the other posters.
@17 Can you read? Trump very much wants to do “jack shit” about Cuba. He’s apparently learned nothing from Iran. He still thinks the military is a magic wand.
The U.S. is no longer set up to fight boots-on-the-ground wars, the kind where it takes a million men with rifles to seize and hold large swaths of territory.
Until the rise of the MAGA cult of personality and grievance, the US hasn’t been interested in pursuing objectives like seizing and holding large swaths of territory since the end of the 19th century.
We don’t really have any practical need to do so. And what modern warfare teaches most of all is that there are better ways of obtaining access to resources. Imperial conquest is breathtakingly expensive and dangerous in a modern context, even without nuclear proliferation.
The only reasons for the MAGA cult support for this kind of expeditionary global military aggression is to distract from their own profound failures at home. Our economy is collapsing. Our legal systems are collapsing. Our healthcare systems are collapsing. Our social institutions are collapsing. Our communities are occupied by authoritarian shock troops who kidnap and murder us at will. And all of this is being brought on and accelerated by the MAGA cult and the political and corporate leadership they are imposing on us.
@ 8
He has embarked on yet another “forever war” with Iran…
It’s been 10 weeks. In the first hour he took out the Ayatollah.
10 weeks is to forever the same way the 2008 election results were to “permanent Democratic majority“.
When did you decide to become a clown, PDF?
7)I’m not gloating much, because the majority of the buses in this state still use diesel in some capacity. Not sure if Pierce Transit is affected as except for a few battery electrics, they have used CNG for decades as part of their contribution to eliminating the Tacoma Aroma. Metro was going to adopt LNG but was one of the first casualties of the transition to County control. I have heard TriMet is having price jumps, as they use R99 in Diesels and Hybrids.
@ 9
That’s pretty unambiguous language. It looks to me like the Virginia Constitution places no limits or restrictions on this legislative authority, so long as the legislative processes that are also required are similarly adhered to.
It looks to me that way, too. So it is important that VA’s senate majority leader won’t go there:

You know if you offer a thing, say a cell phone, and you take deposits for when the thing is ready and then you announce the thing will never be ready and you spent all the deposits developing a thing, that’s a crime.
No, that’s the result of most crowdfunding ventures. Oh, and central California’s light rail boondoggle.
It is with wistful amusement that I recall the lying troll’s complaints like this one when it was “It’s been 10 days”. Then that became “It’s been two weeks.” Then that became “It’s been five weeks”. Then it became “It’s been seven weeks”. And now here we are. And at every step along the way the lying troll lied. At every step along the way the lying troll insisted that Iran was “finished”. At every step the lying troll claimed that the restoration of the global oil supply was “imminent”. And that Iran was soon to become another colony in his MAGA cult’s imaginary expanding global empire.
Who was replaced by yet another even more reactionary Ayatollah. Just as we predicted way back when.
MAGA progress sure looks like failure to everyone else who isn’t a victim of the cult delusions.
Saw on Threads an interesting knee-jerk reaction to the announcement Great Western Railway in the UK is the latest to be nationalized under the plan to undo the John Major privatization of British Railways. Too many blame Thatcher for BR Privatization, when she actually opposed it, because of the impact on rural communities, a Conservative block. The comment was that First Group should get revenge by making the new Great British Railways buy new Rolling Stock. Problem is, the way British Rail was privatized, the operator doesn’t have that leverage.
Freight and Passenger operations were split into Train Operating Companies with concessions they would operate. Infrastructure was split 80th a separate for profit company that later went broke and was taken back into administration under Blair and operated as a non profit. The nature of the passenger operating concessions actually could have led to a lack of investment in Rolling Stock. 7-10 years, hard to make back the investment that takes 30 years to pay off. So they created ROSCOs, Rolling Stock ownership companies that the concession holder leased from. ROSCOs were mainly for owning and leasing, the maintenance was handled by other companies. So GWR operator First Group doesn’t own the trains, just leases them. Although so far, no plans to nationalize the ROSCOs.
The Tories under Major actually used the EU Railway Liberalization mandate as an excuse to privatize. I’ve been reading up on how countries on the continent have been implementing that, In Germany, two states have developed models for ownership of the rolling stock for Regional services tendered by state authorities. North Rhine-Westphalia put out the bid themselves, and leased the trains to the winning operator, starting with the Rhine-Ruhr Express network. Baden-Wurttenberg at first had tge operator pick what they want, purchase it, and then sell to the state, who would lease it back.
What should probably concern Republicans then, is that passing new legislation lowering the mandatory retirement age of state Supreme Court judges is entirely “within the existing legal system”.
For Democrats to successfully pull off this kind of response to Republican power grabbing requires that they manage how the public perceives it. This is precisely the kind of rhetoric that calls for.
For example, let’s say you were going to continue to operate militarized squads of masked, lawless goons invading peaceful communities in Minnesota, even after you’d been caught murdering innocent civilians, torturing people, vandalizing their homes and businesses, and robbing them. And let’s say as a result of that behavior you had lost one of your most important campaign issues for the midterm elections. But let’s also say you didn’t want to let any of that stop you from continuing to murder and torture Americans.
Then you’d say it’s a “new day” with a new leadership. You’d tell everyone that you are no longer doing any of those incredibly unpopular things that were going to cost you seats in the upcoming elections. Then you’d go ahead and do them anyway.
If I were a Democratic political leader in VA and I was planning on moving ahead with this kind of tactic to restore the redistricting that Virginia voters approved, I’d want to put the opponents of those voters and their wishes to sleep to allow the process of planning and negotiations to move forward without a lot of media lying and typical MAGA conspiracy mongering to interfere.
Another typical lazy lie.
That is not how Kickstarter or other respected platforms operate at all.
But that’s probably why the Trump crime family went outside of any respected platforms to operate their phone grift. And presumably the cult victims like the lying troll who fell for it never bothered to read any of the shifting language used to disqualify their purchases. Not unlike the way the fell for $50 six-packs of shitty novelty beer that they never got either:
https://ultrarightbeer.com/
What a fucking clown show this cult of theirs is.
@22 In the first hour he took out the Ayatollah.
There are so many ways to respond to this, but I’ll confine myself to this one: What did that accomplish?
The leader who issued the fatwa against Iran having nuclear weapons is dead, replaced by his harder-line son.
The state of the Union
@24 Virginia Democrats are going to the Supreme Court. They don’t expect to get relief. They merely intend to demonstrate the court is a partisan committee catering to Republican election meddling.

Children going hungry in the U.S. isn’t theoretical or metaphorical. It’s happening right now in Arizona while Republicans squander hundreds of billions of dollars plundered from Medicaid and food assistance on optional wars.

32,
The traditional forms and performance rituals must be observed.
Pursuing the lawful cause of the voters of Virginia to the current court is obligatory first, in order to show the people they did it and to foreclose on the entirely predictable complaints of the MAGA media servants that “they are attempting to go around” the law.
Nothing could of course be further from the truth. It’s important to remember that every redistricting in a Democratic state was done with widespread voter approval first as demonstrated at the voting booth.
Not a single one of the MAGA gerrymanders can say that.
Virginia’s assembly is trying to defend the expressed and lawful wishes of the voters of Virginia by retaining the district map that those voters approved by a statewide vote. They are in the right. 100%. But in this age of MAGA media propaganda and widespread media lying it’s absolutely necessary to cut off the lies before they can be generated and spewed forth into the public sphere.
But the MAGA cult chuds like the lying troll must seek whatever solace where they can find it.

@ 34
It’s important to remember that every redistricting in a Democratic state was done with widespread voter approval first as demonstrated at the voting booth.
Only if you mean that the supposed “independent commissions” that are so common in blue states were created in some instances by legislators, who were elected by the people and therefore what the commissions do is somehow with “widespread voter approval”. That’s at least one step removed from direct voter approval.
In red states redistricting is largely performed by legislators. That’s under direct voter control.
Yet another lie. He just can’t stop.
Every MAGA cult mid decade gerrymander has been done without a statewide vote to approve the map. Lies are lies.
Liars are liars.
We just can’t afford to pretend in order to be polite anymore.
Every single Virginia voter had an opportunity to directly express their approval or disapproval of the map that they adopted, and that their state Supreme Court later overturned. Same in California. It’s a huge and meaningful difference from the process followed in every Republican state. In Tennessee they literally cleared the chamber of Democrats before taking their vote.
These are despicable people doing despicable things to assert white supremacy. And that’s why the lying troll has to lie about it and confirm yet again why he has earned that name.

Not quite.
What this means is that when LA shuts down because ICE is in town because LA chooses to shut down, American-born workers in LA have less work and therefore fewer jobs.
One need not pity the one who kills his parents only to demands\ pity because he was made an orphan.
@ 41
In @ 42 I wrote “Not quite.”. That was wrong.
What I should have written was Not even close, asshole.. From page 14 of your link:
That’s not “Americans losing their jobs”, but rather “illegals choosing to stay home instead of work so they don’t get arrested while on the job”. Note the difference.
So, what is the effect on Americans, you ask? Well (page 13):
This, of course, does not include American workers with last names of Good or Pretti.
It’s clear you did not read this NBER working paper. Who fed you the bullshit you ignorantly regurgitated?
@39 Gerrymandered legislatures are not under voter control.
Take for example the 2018 Wisconsin Assembly elections, where 53% of the voters selected Democratic candidates, but Republicans “won” 64 of the 99 Assembly seats.
That’s not a legislature “under voter control.”
Wikipedia describes Wisconsin’s previous redistricting as follows:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gill_v._Whitford
Wisconsin’s gerrymandering was so extreme sometimes individual houses on the same block were in different districts. The result was elections that a Wisconsin supreme court justice called “rigged” and a legislature a Princeton University gerrymandering expert called “immune from public opinion.”
https://www.propublica.org/article/wisconsin-gop-gerrymander-elections-janet-protasiewicz
Whether the dumbfuck troll admits it or not, Republicans are unpopular, know they’re unpopular, and resort to gerrymandering, voter suppression, and dirty tricks because they know they can’t win if elections are fair.

41,
The study is probably reflecting what generally accepted economic theory would predict.
But it’s not possible to say this is causative. It’s showing a strong correlation though.
ICE enforcement “surges” in selected Democratic voting communities has primarily focused on workers. How do we know? Because they arrest them at their places of work. Removing 6 workers from a community also removes all of the productivity and the local spending that comes from that productivity. It’s not just their spending that is reduced. Fewer workers means less work for the business owners who employ them. That reduces their income as a business. And so on.
So all that aggregate productivity and spending is removed from the local community along with those immigrant workers. At some point the total value removed is enough to eliminate another job of a native born worker supporting that lost productivity and spending.
There’s really nothing shocking or even surprising about this.
Nor really is it surprising that MAGA cult chuds reject all of it.
It is a cult after all.
Regale us some more with your tails of the S&P and the boffo stock market And how great all of the economy is doing.
