Good morning to each of you, individually.

  • Happy Week Without Driving to all who celebrate. I am glad that I got rid of my car several years ago, now.
  • You need a good reason, but more people should throw rocks at Seattle tech bros. Seriously though, what an asshole.
  • Report any yellow legged hornets.
  • Yay for primary elections.

Desperation shows its ugly face in many ways.

Virginia Democrats are looking for a way to overturn the state Supreme Court’s Friday decision invalidating the constitutional amendment temporarily adopting new congressional districts that a majority of voters ratified last month. They have a simple—and lawful—solution: Send the entire court into early retirement.

Article VI, Section 9, of the Virginia Constitution gives the legislature unlimited authority to set the retirement age for judges. It specifies, “The General Assembly may also provide for the mandatory retirement of justices and judges after they reach a prescribed age, beyond which they shall not serve, regardless of the term to which elected or appointed.”
    …
This number is arbitrary. States around the country with similar laws mandate retirement across a wide range of ages. Virginia lawmakers can simply lower theirs. Make it 54 for Supreme Court justices—the age of the youngest justice, Stephen McCullough, who joined the majority opinion—and make it take effect immediately.

There is certainly precedent for this. After all, the least competent commentary on HA is from its oldest regular, a failed former attorney and perpetual useless, bloviating fool. Imagine how much more relevant HA would be had he been cut off from spews when he was only 54.

Tucker Carlson will soon follow Nick Fuentes into the mainstream of the Democrat party. He’s already passed the Democrats’ primary litmus test: hatred of Jews and their mother country.

Meanwhile, now that we know what Iran’s peace terms are, it doesn’t look like Hormuz will reopen anytime soon.

Iranian state media has said its negotiators demanded war reparations, Iranian sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz and an end to U.S. sanctions, The New York Times reported.

VT, you just don’t get it: Trump is doing the exact opposite of what he said was going to do during the 2024 campaign. He has embarked on yet another “forever war” with Iran (as the most recent “villain” in Trump’s world), he has set us up for a major recession with all the oil business, and he has to kowtow to Netanyahu because the Zionist Cabal has some serious Epstein dirt on his past behavior.

Trump is not the person for whom you voted, and you’re not savvy enough to see that.

“The General Assembly may also provide for the mandatory retirement of justices and judges after they reach a prescribed age, beyond which they shall not serve, regardless of the term to which elected or appointed.”

That’s pretty unambiguous language. It looks to me like the Virginia Constitution places no limits or restrictions on this legislative authority, so long as the legislative processes that are also required are similarly adhered to.

Predictably we can now watch in awe and amusement as Republicans, including the lying troll, who have for the last 18 months threatened incessantly with rhetoric emphasizing the exercise of raw political power as a justification unto itself, suddenly switch to complaining about “fairness” and “respect”, and accompanying those complaints with threats of undefined payback “in the future”.

Fuck ’em. This is a war to preserve democracy.

You know if you offer a thing, say a cell phone, and you take deposits for when the thing is ready and then you announce the thing will never be ready and you spent all the deposits developing a thing, that’s a crime.

I can’t believe the very same people who stole the money from a veterans aid charity would do something like this.

But even more, people put down a deposit? Special kind of stupid. I’ll bet Dumbfuck is still checking the mailbox for his.

President Donald Trump is growing impatient with the Cuban government’s ability to hold onto power despite a U.S. pressure campaign. … The Pentagon has responded to Trump’s frustration by updating plans for a possible military action against Cuba in case the president’s orders an attack ….

    https://www.rawstory.com/trump-cuba-war-frustrated-president/

Is the moron leading our country this stupid? Yes, he is. For starters, I’m pretty sure the folks in Havana are onto his decapitation shtick and are taking precautions accordingly. And apart from the likelihood of getting bogged down in another unwinnable war, even more seriously, his threats against Cuba could lead to a second Cuban Missile Crisis, this time with a different outcome.

Trump is doing the exact opposite of what he said was going to do during the 2024 campaign.

    This is untrue.

You were just too dumb to pay attention. And like all the other Trump voters, you allowed your bigotry and lust for authority to selectively filter what you heard or read. Trump literally promised all of this shit many, many times. His touring show of outdoor and arena campaign public events featured stump speeches that emphasized all of this, from the occupying armies of federal goons attacking our communities, to the building and operating of huge human torture factories, to the massive explosion of the debt, to the gutting of healthcare, to the unrestricted military support for Israel in their response to the Oct 7 attacks. He repeatedly talked about attacking Iran on many occasions going all the way back to 2016.

Trump is exactly who the lying troll and all the other 77 million of Trump’s voters voted for last November, including the new war of conquest on behalf of Israel in the Persian Gulf.
