From The Oregonian:
Two students in a foreign exchange program died and seven other people were injured Saturday night when a 24-year-old man with a gun opened fire outside a popular underage nightclub in downtown Portland.
Police identified one of the victims as Ashley Wilks, 16, of Happy Valley. People familiar with the student exchange program said Wilks — a Clackamas High School sophomore — was preparing to head to a foreign country for study.
It appears authorities have yet to name a suspect, who according to the newspaper shot himself and is in critical condition. At this point police seem to believe the shooting was random.
How utterly awful.
The “actual” horror. A middle aged mayor who groomed, and possibly molested an underage teenager, then lied about it, isn’t really that big of a deal, at least when he has a D next to his name.

I’ve seen the story about the Portland Mayor on the local news. I’ve read about it in the Times and P.I. I haven’t read anything about it on HA. And Goldy calls his blog a legitimate news source?

I ran into a Republicon today. I was driving my van down NE15th today in the right hand lane. An older explorer changed lanes from the middle lane and almost hit my van. This was crazy. There were no other cars anywhere. Maybe he was upset with the two signs on the back of my van. “Hang Rove” and “Republicans are a Disease”…. I guess after having unlimited power for almost 30 years, and having the American People totally reject your party, some Cons may have a little anger problem…..

All Facts @ 8, You make an excellent point, and I believe the police and judicial system needs to be prepared for an influx of wingnut offenders.
These disgruntled wingnuts are a danger to the general public and themselves. The police should immediately respond to their violent antisocial outbursts and the judicial system should be prepared to hand down harsh long term prison sentences to get them off the streets.
The added benefits will be an increase in healthy rational discourse, and a removal of the moronic wingnut trolls on otherwise patriotic democracy loving blogs such as HA.

That’s the difference between D’s and R’s. You can drive around with those signs, and nobody’s going to do anything to you. R’s are going to respect your right to freedom of speech. But if I drove around with a “Hang Obama” sign, and “Blacks are a disease” sign, I’m sure a Democrat would take action against me or my car. That proves Democrats are more intolerant, hate-filled, anti-American than Republicans.

Sorry folks. I don’t usually deviate much from the topic, but after being called a traitor by the likes of Rush, and his Republicon allies daily for years I am putting it back in their faces with the signs on the back of my van. The sign on my car reads “Republicans America’s Worst Enemy” too. I thought my friends here would appreciate my experience today, with some fool appearing to try to run me off the road.
