I am pleased to announce that I have worked out an arrangement to post the work of Andrew Wahl, the editorial cartoonist for the Wenatchee World. The arrangement is this: he has granted me non-exclusive rights to select from his portfolio of cartoons on national and local issues, and in return… I pay him absolutely nothing. Works for me.
Sometimes I’ll post his cartoons on their own, sometimes to illustrate a longer post… I’m not really sure. But I thought I’d lead off with one from a couple weeks ago, which I found particularly amusing… and disturbing. It’s also a touch timely again, what with more explosions today in London.

But in reality – and perhaps obviously for a city slowly, but surely, returning to its Spanish-speaking roots – it is Hispanic gangs that rule the streets. /break/ There are possibly 150,000 gang members in the greater Los Angeles area, affiliated with more than 1300 street gangs. More than half are Hispanic.

I cannot say I have ever heard a liberal claim there is no Al Qaeda. I understand that there are some wacked-out conspiracy theories about “what really happened on 9/11,” but I suspect there are liberal and conservative nutcases promoting such ideas.

What’s the fuss with national ADD/ADHD? All we need to do is add Ritalin to the public water supply along with the floride (for those who find brushing too tedious) and clorine for that extra special taste. Problem solved! Plus, just think of how it would benefit the drug companies. Everybody wins!
