Yes, the USA is producing more crude than ever before. As the “Trump made us energy independent” folks fail to notice is in both 2023 and 2024 The USA under “cut production and kill the KEystone XL” Joe Biden produced 600M and almost 1B more barrles than at the peak of the Trump Administration.
It is not possible to ramp up production in the USA to an additional 2.1B barrels quickly. Even in a boom of 23-24 we put less than a half a billion additional in play. US sources could maybe cover that in 3 years if everything moves perfectly and of course the OTHER inflationary Tariffs don’t create a recession and decreased demand for auto fuel.

Whether or not these tariffs will provoke a beneficial expansion of GDP, what’s almost certain is that they will not go away very soon. One of the principle reasons that punitive tariffs have been avoided since WW2 is because they are so hard to pull out of. Due largely to domestic political conditions parties almost never engage in serious negotiations short of some kind of regime change. Now that the framework of threat and counter threat has been established to define the relationships it will escalate and tend to persist. The only question is how quickly will things escalate. It’s likely to last until 2029. Enjoy.
