I hope you had a lovely weekend. I didn’t do shit, but I managed to still be exhausted this morning. Anyway:

  • The trial of the Spokane 3 starts today. What absurd bullshit.
  • King County Regional Homelessness Authority are not up to the task.
  • Stabbed 40 times. Fuck transphobia.
  • Don’t short change Seattle on pass through maintenance revenue. Our roads are in not great condition because of stuff like this.

    Been looking for spoilers of Tge Testaments, the sequel to the Handmaids Tale. They departed from the book already as the Series Finale of the Handmaids Tale Massachusetts was liberated (if Gillead hadn’t previously wiped out what South Boston was known for, the only delay for the Marines getting off the beachhead would have been the bar owners providing the Marines with Beers). They we’re once Utilities restored a and Logan operational, making a move toward New York, but in the Testaments premiere, was mentioned there was a Gillead counterattack to retake Boston UTA’s was repulsed with heavy losses. They did purge a good portion of the Guardians(Gillead Army) after that, and I hope the idiot who commanded their Navy. With most of New England deep water ports in Gillead control, the Navy and Marines came from Florida(mostly controlled by factions loyal to the Anchorage Government, good portion of the South too, Baptists and Catholics are on the regimes hit list) and Puerto Rico. Promotional maps from the HT show Virginia, especially Norfolk as fully Gillead.

    As for Air Power, both sides have Raptors, but if Marietta, Georgia is Rebel-held, Lockheed is probably supporting the ones in what’s left of USAF.. Texas is not reporting to anyone, but a self-declared Independent Republic that is mostly neutral to avoid a Gillead invasion, although they have key portions of the MIC they can hold hostage, like the F-35 factory in Fort Worth, and the Nuclear Bombers factory in Amarillo. Even if new Nukes aren’t assembled, current warheads do need servicing.

    West Coast, at least west of the Cascades and Sierras is Rebel or US Controlled, but what Pacific Fleet units at San Diego are at the disposal of what’s left of the US Government is complicated. So Cal is one of the Colonies, possibly due to a meltdown at Dan Onofre, Reactor explosion on a submarine or carrier, or a nuke detonated by either Gillead or Anchorage.

    Tentative deal to end LIRR Strike. Waiting for full details, I can see why the unions would want a wage increase, but MTA is right to push for work rule reform. Because of the nature of how Railway Labor Act contracts work, many outdated ones survive because they are so ingrained, workers don’t want to give them up. I think SEPTA where Regional Rail trains can have up to 6 assistant conductors is unreasonable, even if it’s rooted in how SEPTA Silverliner multiple units are operated (2 car married pairs, with up to 6 such combos in each train). I heard that an engineer at LIRR who operates a diesel but switched to an electric gets two days pay. If on the same day they also go from operating said train to deadheading to a yard, it’s another days pay. MTA is right to push for a change on that. Amtrak’s engineers union has been more willing to reform, such as engineer only in the cab if it’s less than six hours. One of the reasons Engineers change at Wenatchee and Pasco while conductors on the Empire Builder’s change only at Spokane.

    https://www.trains.com/pro/passenger/commuter-regional/mta-unions-reach-deal-to-end-long-island-rail-road-strike/

    Also that legacy LIRR work rules persist mentioned, could be open to abuse. Trains from the Hampton and other destinations beyond Ronkonkoma are in Diesel Territory, some LIRR Locomotives are Dual Modes with Third Rail shoes to collect power for the run into the two Manhattan Terminals.

    In one March 2017 post on Reddit’s r/Military forum, Platner responded to a discussion about nostalgic military smells by writing: “I still have to jerk off every time I sit in a portas—-er… that blue water smell conditioned me.”

    The archived posts were made under “P-Hustle,” a now-deleted Reddit account that Platner previously acknowledged was his.

    In another post from March 2021 on Reddit’s r/USMC forum, Platner described a crude penis drawing inside a portable toilet while deployed overseas.

    Responding to a thread dedicated to so-called “GWOT Dick Art,” Platner launched into an extended monologue praising the explicit graffiti in unusually vivid terms, calling it “beautiful,” “engorged and veiny,” and moving “towards its penetrative glory.”

    Blanche has never appeared to be confirmed as Bondi’s replacement. His appointment is temporary under the law until that changes. Thus his formal and only legal title is Acting Attorney General. Like the Metro North being ex New York Central, and the LIRR being ex Pennsylvania Rail Road. Both have 750V DC Third Rail, but the collectors are mounted differently, and integrating the fleets always fail. The Northeast Corridor electrification is all overhead wire, all AC, but three different voltages, making for a big engineering headache for Metro North’s Penn Station plan.

    USA v Australia with a high of $1600 in March are down to $900

    Right now Ticketmaster has the latter match at a lowest price of $1,152.92.

    Yawn. I met my sister in Toronto one weekend and it turned out the World Cup of Hockey was being contested on the same weekend there. On a whim we saw Russia v. Sweden and with less than 2 hours to go snatched 4 tix with a face value of $900/4 for just over $125/4.

    I guess there just aren’t that many hockey fans in Canada.

    We’ll catch Canada v. Qatar next month while in Vancouver. Haven’t purchased yet and right now a pair with fees will run nearly $1,200 USD. Although I can hope that the economy will further melt down and that Canadians will lose interest in their country’s national team playing in their home stadium, because it’s on a Thursday afternoon, making the tix cheaper.

    How hikes to Oregon gas taxes and fees ended up on the ballot

    Vote “Yes” to approve: This allows the tax and fee increases to take effect 0.5.11. This includes raising the state gas tax from $0.40 to $0.46 per gallon, roughly doubling DMV vehicle registration and title fees, and doubling the transit payroll tax (from 0.1% to 0.2%).

    Vote “No” to reject: This keeps the rates at their current, pre-increase levels. If rejected, the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) will likely face massive funding shortfalls and potential layoffs unless lawmakers find alternative funding sources.

    This one has as much chance as an incompetent, poorly communicative black woman candidate for president belatedly shoved down the throats of Democrat voters by an incompetent, corrupt, senile president’s wife and CoS.

    The Iranian side of the negotiations in Islamabad have released the terms that the Insane Failing Cult Leader did another 🌮 to allow time to consider.

    Their six demands include:
    the lifting of sanctions;
    the release of $100 billion in frozen assets;
    removal of the U.S. Navy blockade;
    the cessation of all military hostilities;
    removal of U.S. troops from neighboring countries bordering Iran;
    payment of restitution for all war related damage to Iran.

    Is this a good time to point out that senior state department negotiators supported by experts in nuclear enrichment who have all since been fired by DOGE, spent 20 months to reach the agreement that Trump and the GOP blew up? And that the reason Iran is now closer to weapons grade enrichment tech today is because of that stupidity?

    There simply isn’t going to be time to negotiate a better agreement in time for the midterms. And if MAGA cult idiots think Kegseth can bomb his way to a better agreement, they don’t understand how Vietnam eventually won. That leaves attempting to bomb Iran out of existence, which we already know is what the lying troll is pining for. But the problem with that is we don’t have enough money or enough bombs to do it. And certainly not in time for the midterms.

    Avg. price of gas is now $4.53 and still rising from the $2.98 where it was before MAGA started the stupid Israeli Sport War. The Strait of Hormuz remains closed. And all the excess inventory in the system is now depleted.

    Avg. price of gas is now $4.53 and still rising from the $2.98 where it was before …

    Well, that’s not much of an issue in Iran. Since there is a massive gasoline shortage now:

    Pezeshkian says Iranians must accept inflation as country is in war

    Pezeshkian warned that fuel shortages and inflation would worsen without tighter management of energy consumption, saying gasoline production had fallen after damage to production facilities.

    “Our gasoline production capacity has fallen. They hit it,” he said.

    According to Pezeshkian, Iran currently produces around 100 million liters of gasoline per day while domestic demand has reached roughly 150 million liters daily.

    “Do we even have the dollars to import gasoline and burn it?” he said.

    The president called for stricter management of water, electricity, gas and gasoline consumption, saying economic problems, unemployment and inflation would deepen without conservation measures.

    Rather than quote the price of gasoline in the US consider quoting the rate of inflation, the scarcity of food, and the scarcity of gasoline in Iran.

    Vietnam 1960s and Iran 2020s are nothing alike.

    North Vietnam was “bombed into the stone age” at a time when the U.S. military was more than twice its current size and supported by a massive infrastructure of secure air bases that could deploy sorties around the clock for weeks on end if needed.

    In the end, when the U.S. withdrew the South was overrun in a matter of just a few weeks – by the country we had “bombed into the stone age”. One of North Vietnam’s greatest strategic “losses”, Tet, came to be regarded as their greatest political “win”, despite the disparate ratio in “body count”.

So I can’t say whether more U.S. bombing and more U.S. economic sanctions (sanctions they’ve lived under for fifty years) will move Iran to surrender to Israel. But I’m very confident that is precisely how the average Iranian frames the question.

    So my best guess is, faced with the question of a surrender framed in that way, the average Iranian Islamic revolutionary is pretty well prepared to undergo a lot more suffering for the next five months rather than surrender to an Israel that is currently engaging in widespread genocide and regional wars of conquest against Islamic people.

    The better question is, how well prepared are independent swing state voters? Cuz without that Iranian surrender that MAGA needs, gas prices are going way up.

    Once again, this complete lie that this lying troll has promoted here before is entirely wrong, incorrect, and founded on what can only be the kind of Dunning Kruger infusions of confident ignorance available on the MAGA bubble white supremacy and AI infant porn websites that he now completely depends upon.

    IF, following a federal court with jurisdiction ruling, a state or local prosecution of a federal official is removed to a federal court, that entire proceeding is still conducted under the controlling state laws, prosecuted by the same state prosecutor, and before a state impaneled jury (should the defendant so choose).

    An appointed federal judge from the local district presides and calls the balls and strikes.

    And given that it’s very clear from this and many other cases that the DHS at the time under ICE Barbie and the DOJ under then DAG Blanche, was engaging in obstruction by hiding or otherwise suppressing witnesses, concealing or destroying evidence, and engaging in a criminal cover up. So the real action here lies in the investigative authorities this creates now that the criminal indictment has been handed down. Subpoenas have issued and will be issued. The DOJ will seek to litigate them all. But they won’t win them all. And at this point they don’t have a criminal prosecution bench at DOJ, much less any criminal defense experience. DOJ attorneys who can effectively bring motions in federal court are lying very thin on the ground nationwide, but especially in Minnesota following operation Racist Surge under now fired Greg Bovino.

    Is that criminal reckless endangerment?
    Depends.
    Can local yokels light him up and stop him to find out?
    They absolutely can. And they always would too, weapons drawn 99 times out of 100.

    Unless…
    Unless the fed was acting “under color of authority” and within the scope of his duties and the agency had coordinated locally before carrying out operations like that.

    And that’s one of Stephen Miller’s biggest problems in all this shit. The feds simply refuse to work with local authorities before they go gunning into a peaceful local neighborhood driving MRAPS and wearing GI Joe costumes. It’s intended to scare the shit out of everyone. And it does. But it deprives the agents of many of the legal protections they wish to seek after the fact.

HA Commenting Policy

It may be hard to believe from the vile nature of the threads, but yes, we have a commenting policy. Comments containing libel, copyright violations, spam, blatant sock puppetry, and deliberate off-topic trolling are all strictly prohibited, and may be deleted on an entirely arbitrary, sporadic, and selective basis. And repeat offenders may be banned! This is my blog. Life isn’t fair.
