    Emily Heller lives near 33rd and Portland and said she woke up to a commotion outside her home. She said she saw a car blocking traffic on Portland Avenue that appeared to be part of a protest against federal law enforcement operations.

    Heller said she heard ICE agents telling the driver, a woman, to “get out of here.”

    “She was trying to turn around, and the ICE agent was in front of her car, and he pulled out a gun and put it right in — like, his midriff was on her bumper — and he reached across the hood of the car and shot her in the face like three, four times,” Heller said.

    Today, ICE officers in Minneapolis were conducting targeted operations when rioters began blocking ICE officers and one of these violent rioters weaponized her vehicle, attempting to run over our law enforcement officers in an attempt to kill them—an act of domestic terrorism.

    An ICE officer, fearing for his life, the lives of his fellow law enforcement and the safety of the public, fired defensive shots.

    He used his training and saved his own life and that of his fellow officers.

    The alleged perpetrator was hit and is deceased. The ICE officers who were hurt are expected to make full recoveries.

    This is the direct consequence of constant attacks and demonization of our officers by sanctuary politicians who fuel and encourage rampant assaults on our law enforcement who are facing 1,300% increase in assaults against them and an 8,000% increase in death threats.

    This is an evolving situation, and we will give the public more information as soon as it becomes available.

  26. I’ve seen the first composite videos of the shooting.

    Looks like a murder to me.

    Let me be clear, the individual doing the shooting was masked and unidentified. As a federal agent putatively executing a removal order he has no authority to engage in traffic control. As the video begins the victim’s vehicle is turned partially sideways to the snow and ice covered street at an angle having apparently just pulled away from the curb in an attempt to leave the area. The victim pauses to allow another bystander vehicle parked behind her that was also pulling out to proceed ahead of her. As the other bystander vehicle clears the area but before the victim vehicle can proceed an unmarked pickup speeds forward toward her and comes to a halt blocking her from proceeding. Two masked individuals emerge from the pickup and begin marching toward her vehicle. The masked driver of the pickup moves directly toward the drivers door and begins to try and pull the door open violently. At the same time that the victim’s attention is drawn to her left by the masked individual attempting to force his way into her vehicle, another unmarked vehicle has pulled in front of the victim and exited his vehicle on her right. The masked driver of this unmarked vehicle exits his vehicle and begins immediately to draw a handgun from a waist holster and move around to the front left of the victim while her attention is still drawn further to her left by the other masked individual trying to force her driver’s side door open. She begins to reverse her vehicle to pivot to avoid the individual on her left trying to force her driver’s door. Then she proceeds to move forward in her original direction of travel before she was blocked and the second masked individual with the handgun opens fire from her left as she passes him. He continues to fire as she moves past him and moves away from him.

    In several still frames isolated from various angles it can be clearly determined that the shooter was clear of the vehicle and its direction of travel as he opened fire and continued to fire. And no other individuals were threatened by the victim’s movement at that time. It can clearly be seen that after the shooter approached from the front left he planted his feet on the street in a staggered position and leaned toward the moving vehicle reaching toward the victim with his handgun and firing across the left front fender at the victim.

    The victim having presumably become incapacitated from being shot in the face, her vehicle moved down the open street ahead of it and struck a parked car coming to a stop. All of the masked individuals present immediately retreated from the scene before taking up position to prevent other bystanders from rendering aid.

  27. From the sounds accompanying the videos it appears that at least three rounds were fired at the victim. Still photos of the victim’s vehicle taken after the shooting show only a single bullet hole in the windshield located immediately next to the front left pillar (A pillar) about four inches above the bottom of the glass. All other rounds were presumably fired through the driver’s window or at the rear of the departing vehicle.

    The location of the single windshield bullet hole is consistent with the eyewitness reports that the masked shooter was moving and reaching toward the victim’s vehicle and to the left of it when he opened fire.

  28. I don’t see anything in any of the photos or videos available so far to indicate in any way that this victim was using her vehicle as a weapon at any time. She very clearly appears to be trying to leave the theatrically chaotic scene along with other motorists. At first she appears to be trying to turn her car around. But then when she notices another motorist leaving going in other direction she stops to let them pass. By that time her original intention to turn 180 degrees is blocked by one of the shooting team vehicles and she has come under attack by masked gunmen. So she reverses and then begins to proceed away from them when she is shot dead.

    This one doesn’t appear close at all to me. And I’m going to suggest that you probably aren’t going to find many experienced prosecutors of gun crimes who have had to analyze shooting scenes who will disagree with that. Yes, any number of cops and Badge Bunnies will attempt to portray this as somehow “objectively reasonable”. But they are neither unbiased nor objective in their thinking.

    The reason this needs documenting, and the reason everyone should begin doing so right now is that this MAGA regime obviously can’t afford to have it accepted that their stupid, theatrically performative force shows are in fact deadly to the citizens they are supposed to protect. They can’t afford for the people to see what they are really doing here, which in this case is murder.

    So they are going to retcon the fuck out of this. This masked Fat Ass goon who got his gun off for sport, no matter what we learn about how untrained, incompetent, overworked, and unqualified he may be, is going to be portrayed as a hero. They knew this would happen eventually. They planned for this. And they will put those plans into action.

    It is literally up to every single one of us to watch those original, unedited videos as soon as they become available, slow them down frame by frame, analyze the movements and actions, and see the truth of this for what it is. And then repeat that truth unwaveringly and unapologetically over and over again until it drowns the fake MAGA narrative. Pay attention now to how many media reports credulously pass along the false narrative issued by the spokesliars employed by the administration. Remember that these are demonstrated and proven to be liars (Abrego Garcia’s tattoos, etc). Yet despite that, and despite the obvious need for objectivity about a tragedy like this one, the major media will fall into the lazy habit of adopting the government frame. And that frame (from DHS/White House) will be a false one.

  80. Some quick analysis of the relevant MN statute which would control.

    609.066 of the MN criminal code puts the burden of proof on the state to show, beyond a reasonable doubt, that the officer was not acting in self defense.

    This is, as far as his lies and dissembling allow, about as good an aproximation as possible of the defense that the lying piece of shit troll is parroting from the MAGA mediasphere to us today.

    Under the given circumstances and in light of the statue it would be very difficult if not impossible for the state of Minnesota to prove this with regard to the first shot fired. His “state of mind” is his alone. And a reasonable jury will conclude that “fear” is possible here. Reasonable doubt certainly exists as to his state of mind when he was firing the first shot. And while we may objectively conclude from the video evidence that he was not in danger, the state statute grants him that claim.

    But additional shots were fired. We will have to await balistics and of course the DHS Fat Asses controlling the scene will have done everything possible to destroy the physical evidence. But the video and photo evidence is enough to establish a lawful and valid prosecution claim that for the subsequent shots fired the Fat Ass may not claim self defense. And under the same statute controlling the prosecution of LEs who murder in the line of duty, there is the following:

    “To effect the arrest or capture, or prevent the escape, of a person whom the peace officer knows or has reasonable grounds to believe has committed or attempted to commit a felony and the officer reasonably believes that the person will cause death or great bodily harm to another person…”
    Interpretation of this part of this statute is constrained and governened by the Supreme Court in Tennessee v. Garner 471 U.S. 1 (1985). So although a vehicle may be treated as a lethal weapon, under the cirucumstances there are no “reasonable grounds” to claim the belief that after the first shot was fired and the vehicle was passing safely to the officer’s right the driver would immediately cause “death or great bodily harm”.

    So in summary, for shot 1, by statute, the officer may claim a belief that the victim was using her vehicle as a deadly weapon and that he was in credible fear for his life of the lives of others.

    However, even if consequent to that claim, the officer has “reasonable grounds to believe (the victim) has committed or attempted to commit a felony” to obtain the protection of the statute for the subsequent shots the officer must still prove that he “reasonably believes that the person will cause death or great bodily harm to another person..” at the point where she is driving safely away from him and his fellow officers.

    An arrest warrant may issue based on the subsequent shots fired into the driver’s side of the vehicle by the masked assailant as the vehicle passed safely by him.

    This is what I think the conclusions of the Hennepin County Prosecutor ought to be.

    Nope, dumbfuck, this doesn’t make it in a court of law when you’re charged with murder. Basically you’re arguing that anyone in a vehicle is fair game for crazed ICE gunmen because of what they might do with the vehicle. However, to invoke self-defense, it’s only what they do do with the vehicle that counts. And she didn’t do that with the vehicle, so your argument is dead in the water.

    Got a question for you. If someone sees you driving, should they open fire on you, because they think you might run them over? Or do they have to hold their fire until you actually try to run them over?
