Roger Dumbfuck Rabbit wants you to believe that when he sells stock from his pitifully small investment account, he’s dumping it onto a dumb Rethuglican investor.
The truth is he’s probable selling an undervalued asset at the worst possible time, and he’s contributing to wealth inequality and to worsening the gab between himself and the good side of it:

Of course you;ll go for it. Given that $3,699 is only pin money to you, why would you pass up all those delectable technological goodies? Certainly not because of any compulsion for thrift. You’re only thrifty with the wages of low-income workers.
Since you know more about my portfolio than I do, tell me, which stock should I dump next?
If my memory serves me, you didn’t “warn” me about GE until after the fact. Any dummy can do that. And as I also recall, I did suggest you short GE at $23, before the fact, which you didn’t do.
And now you purport to give me investment advice? No thanks.

@8 “Same as your impeachment/conviction hopes.”
My impeachment/conviction hopes are that we all reserve final judgment until the evidence has been heard and the arguments have been made.
However, I don’t expect you or your tribe to do that. I expect you and your tribe to be deaf to the evidence, close-minded about the arguments, and adamant that this president shouldn’t be impeached or removed for office no matter what he’s done.
Because if there’s one thing we can count on from you and your tribe, it’s being lousy citizens of this country.

Just a reminder for the racist incel who enjoys homophobic slurs: when Jim Jordan is talking about secret whistleblowers and imaginary Democrat secret conspiracies, that same Jim Jordan kept sexual abuse of young men a secret while assistant wrestling coach at Ohio State/OSU.

A better argument for expansion to Justices could not be made than Donald and Mitch filling a seat now that the window for the tradition of waiting is open. They’ll do it given the chance because….no shame.
Venture to guess a couple GOP senate seats would swing if they did too.
I mean Collins is prob toast already but she wouldn’t want more attention on SCOTUS in 2020. Two seats to try and hold in GA. AZ, CO likely flips.
How bad does Mitch want it. 4 Senators? 5? 6?
8-4 or 9-3 SCOTUS upending Mitch’s judicial project at the end of President Warren’s 2nd term?
Carl, you should remember that Repbulicans, according to Bob, don’t do things unless there is a good reason to do something. That must be fake news that you are listening too, or have wax in your ears.
Well, surely. If Zales and Prada are campaign items.
The indictment read seven counts of wire fraud, including $761.74 on Zales Jewelry, $1,163.91 dollars on a Prada purse, roughly $1,213.82 on vacation airfare. They say she also spend $9,941.99 on school tuition, and $11,809 on her home mortgage.
…
“Paying your mortgage payment is not a campaign activity, but I can imagine buying jewelry and cosmetics while she was on the campaign trail, might be,” Stein said.

If tipped off in advance, I suppose that might be true.

Based on what?
• The $7.1M she has in the bank as of September 30?
• Cook Political Report having the seat a toss-up?
• A month-old PPP poll with MOE 3.2 points showing Collins down by 3? Down to a generic Dem, not any specific candidate, BTW.
That makes her ‘prob toast’? Gee, you sound a lot less convinced than you did about Hillary’s ‘absolute lock’ on 252 EVs, CZ-252.

The Defeat Collins Crowdfunding campaign has about $5 million sitting in the bank just waiting for a nominee.
In 2014 a 39 year old Peace Corp volunteer nobody ever heard of, with zero backing from either the state or national party, and with no date rape and no Trump, still raised and spent about $2.4 million. Finished with over 30% of the vote.
Being a Republican, Collins is undoubtedly a little math challenged. Still, she’s probably not as dumb as Teh Dumbfuck.

This timeline continues to unfold badly for the GOP, especially now that they are all Ride-Or-Die Trump. SCOTUS declines is the endgame, which would come in the current term. Possibly early in the current term.
It’s actually possible that House Oversight will be receiving the Trump taxes while the impeachment is still underway.
That would be… unfortunate for him.

You know it’s bad when CNN admits Schiff bombed today.
CNN’s Jeffrey Toobin admitted Wednesday afternoon that the two star witnesses Schiff rolled out on day one of his impeachment show trials never even had direct contact with President Trump.
The two Trump-hating witnesses, George Kent, a deputy at the State Department and Bill Taylor, the charge d’affaires at the US Embassy in Kiev testified together on Wednesday.
The two anti-Trump witnesses admitted to Congressman Jim Jordan that they’ve never even spoken to President Trump — all of their information was based on second and third-hand chatter.
CNN’s Jeffrey Toobin said Wednesday that neither witness had direct contact with the president.
“The one criticism of these two witnesses, which I think is very much legitimate…Is that neither of them had contact with the President — EVER — and yeah, that’s a problem if you’re going to impeach the president,” Toobin said.

If ridiculing someone on account of their creed, religion, color, denomination, nationality, race, or disability is a crime then Trump ought to be behind bars.

@67 Any municipal court judge could, and should, throw that charge out. You don’t have to be a Supreme Court justice to decide something violates the First Amendment. If the prosecutor doesn’t like it, s/he can appeal the ruling to higher courts.

61,
What CNN is doing is remains quite opaque. But we can assume it’s about the same as they’ve been doing since at least 2012. And what that has consisted of are self-curated panels of self-identified “undecideds” from a handful of “swing” states interviewed longitudinally from month to month during a single election.
The producers select from among the respondents according to “identity profiles” to give a “mix” according to CNN. These “identity profiles” have included “The Millennial”, “The Catholic”, “The Single Woman”, “The Evangelical”, well, I think you can see where this goes.
Coverage like this is more likely intended to build audience rather than actually measure voter response. It isn’t truly longitudinal in any sense that a political scientist could use. And it suffers from a ton of major flaws, not the least of which is that rather than identifying voters based on behavior, it identifies them by how they choose to describe themselves to a television audience. It’s like loge(Ken Bone) = Trump played out in a studio in front of a camera.
It’s well worth remembering that Jeff Zucker’s stated intention is to draw audience away from FOX News. To do that he has to appeal to FOX News viewers interested in an alternative. But it hardly follows that such viewers would map easily to Trump voters interested in an alternative. Or if such a thing really even exists.
Strike two.

Donald has officially petitioned SCOTUS to keep his taxes from New York prosecutors.
Either way it’s a loss. Either SCOTUS rules that legally subpoenaed records are off limits to law enforcement in a corruption case (eds. note Fine paid rather than risk trial for embezzling funds from your personal charity. Was that income declared?) with Moscow Mitch’s justices doing his bidding (12 justices! Do it!) or Donald has to release taxes or he can violate SCOTUS ruling against and slam dunk obstruction of justice charge.
Either way, the Sitting President is going to the Supreme Court to keep secret personal details that have been voluntarily disclosed by every presidential nominee in my lifetime.

Demorat Pornstar Party Of Hate America & Brilliant Hoaxes Fartblower Blowback Update – Demorats In Turmoil After Fartblower Clown Show Debacle
———-
Democrats have been scrambling following Wednesday’s lackluster public impeachment hearing, changing the focus of their impeachment narrative to “attempted” crimes after Republican lawmakers largely decimated their weak impeachment case.
Wednesday’s public impeachment hearing, which featured testimonies from acting U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Bill Taylor and senior State Department official George Kent, was deemed a bust by many, including Democrats.
“It was a total disaster for us,” one senior House Democrat aide told Breitbart News.
“It’s hearsay,” Rep. Jeff Van Drew (D-NJ) said of Taylor’s testimony. “It’s really difficult dealing with this because it’s he said-she said.”

76,
I don’t think the Court will grant cert.
On the facts, laws, and arguments at issue the case does not merit further review. I doubt very much that any four members will somehow discover in these issues a compelling purpose for taking it up in light of the proceedings and rulings thus far. Trump’s DOJ does a very poor job of arguing that this kind of oversight either burdens or deprives the President’s A2 powers or upsets the balance of powers between and among co-equal branches.
It’s his motherfucking taxes, FFS. It just isn’t reasonable to aver that oversight would imperil the office unless the documents contain lies/crimes. I’m not inclined to believe that even this court sees itself in the role of covering up the private indiscretions of billionaires (??) so long as Congress has a valid purpose. And the Court has heretofore defined Congressional purpose fairly broadly.
He’s Fucked.

Swing and a miss. Big time.
I realize that prior to reading this you didn’t know that. But it ought to make you think… assuming of course that you are capable.
I-976 will be thrown out by March, so nobody should be particularly concerned about it.
79,
Also, and NFN, Van Drew not a lawyer.
He’s a dentist. You know. Just like Hermey the Elf.
So you go right ahead and do your thing. But I’ll keep right on relying on Rule 803 and it’s 23 different, broadly defined, and sweeping in scope exceptions to rule against hearsay.
I know you and all the other dentists get all your legal training from television. But you’re more than welcome to google rule 803 and see for yourself. It’s fair to say that hearsay is more commonly admitted than excluded. But even if you did get all your legal training from television, what the hell do you think all those cops and detectives are doing up there on the stand?
That’s hearsay too. Hmmmmmm. Maybe that’s why Van Drew is the only one mentioning it, including the Trumpublicans.

now she gets to lay on the beach and smoke dope, it’s so unfair.”

Democrats are hoping the former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch’s testimony on Friday will draw sympathy from Americans watching the impeachment inquiry hearings, according to reports.
Yovanovitch is going to “tug at America’s heartstrings,” a Democrat aide told NBC News earlier this week.
A Democrat aide also told Axios earlier this week, “Yovanovitch was the first victim of the president’s scheme with Giuliani. [That draws the] sympathy of the audience.”
Yovanovitch, who was removed from her posting earlier this year around May, choked up during her closed-door deposition last month when she was describing her firing, prompting lawmakers to give her a short break. The moment came during questioning from the Democrat counsel Daniel Goldman.
Democrats may try to recreate that scene during the hearing’s first hour, which Democrats are designing to be as impactful as possible, according to reports.
“If the American people only watch the first hour, they’ll hear plenty,” a Democrat source told NBC News. “The first hour of each hearing is designed to be a blockbuster.”

Here’s where a conservative would equate forcing medically accurate sex education in school is no different from letting students be factually wrong but religiously dogmatic.

Well, this is interesting — when Trump finally released military aid to Ukraine (two days after the Politico story about his extortion efforts broke), the javelin anti-tank missiles were supplied on condition they not be used.

So much for Republican bragging that Trump gave the Ukrainians lethal weapons. I wonder where that directive came from? Betcha it originated in an office in Moscow.
89,
I don’t think you read the bill’s text and neither did Charlie Pierce.
No school district board of education, governing authority of a community school established under Chapter 3314. of the Revised Code, governing body of a STEM school established under Chapter 3326. of the Revised Code, or board of trustees of a college-preparatory boarding school established under Chapter 3328. of the Revised Code shall prohibit a student from engaging in religious expression in the completion of homework, artwork, or other written or oral assignments. Assignment grades and scores shall be calculated using ordinary academic standards of substance and relevance, including any legitimate pedagogical concerns, and shall not penalize or reward a student based on the religious content of a student’s work.
I don’t think it says what Pierce says it says.
Not that I would mind it if henceforth and forevermore not a single Evangelical student was able to gain admission to a good college or university, and thus were barred from most career paths that don’t involve either a shovel, a stripper pole, or the wearing of a very flattering and colorful uniform.

That’s Cz-252. He’s YLB, but with a Y chromosome and 30 additional IQ points.
I think the defense of Trump extortion/bribery that will emerge will essentially boil down to this: “It’s business-as-usual, from a tough business negotiator who always demands a quid pro quo.”
Given the corp media predilection for “balance” and those journalists fetish for appearing “savvy” about these things, it could be surprisingly successful.
Of course, the flaw at the heart of all this is that the “tough negotiation” was in pursuit of an illegal purpose. But I’m afraid that since the White House has thus far been able to withhold many of the key witnesses and documents about that illegal purpose, and since House Democrats appear to be steering around the issue to avoid breathing life into these crazy Area 51 theories, the public won’t hear much at all about that. And the reporting will focus mostly on the conduct rather than the intent of Rudy’s adventure.
That will leave the door open for Republicans and the corp media whores to portray the whole Ukraine Missiles-for-Political-Smear effort as just another example of Trump’s unconventional approach. A parade of career diplomats, and even decorated war heroes, all complaining about being “cut-out”, deceived, and abused by Giuliani and his team of Russian bag-men may not be enough to alter that narrative.
House Dems need a better political perspective from outside the beltway to fully understand this. The day to day commerce in status, dignity, and power that fuels Washington DC and that innervates their professional lives is somewhat irrelevant to most Americans. They will not share the committee’s outrage at the described conduct. And of course, Trump’s supporters will revel in it.
The point here is that the Constitutional norm that public office and public authority, whether they are employed carefully and with respect or wielded like a cudgel, must be used exclusively for public interest is being lost in this. And it’s frankly sad, but perhaps not surprising, that the House leadership fail to recognize this. We see a media preoccupied with the palace intrigue, counting coup, score keeping, and a focus on the violation of behavioral norms. But still mostly ignoring the underlying, and largely unrefuted malign and corrupt purpose of the whole scheme. Which was to benefit Trump the private man, not the office, and not the people he is sworn to serve.
This is consistent with a theme. Evidence has been clear and plentiful that Trump has conducted himself in office for his own personal, private financial benefit since day one. Whether it’s the use of Trump properties by government agencies, mounting into the tens of millions of dollars going directly into his pockets, or the bullying of foreign interests into doing likewise, or into more favorable negotiations for his next resort deal, or his family members acting as government employees traveling abroad to negotiate on behalf of his private companies, the obvious truth of all that has become “boring” to the savvy media, all eager stay ahead of the curve in adopting the new political norm.
But when political norms stand in for Constitutional norms we lose the republic. And where Americans, politicians, media, and voters alike, are in error is in assuming that you can make even a single such substitution, however briefly, without imperiling all the other underpinnings of a constitutional republic.
Trump’s MAGA base supporters voted for him precisely because he is a crude, rash, persistent bully. And probably a great many other people held their noses and voted for him recognizing that, and holding out hope that it could be put to good use. All the strong evidence says that Trump mostly puts his native talent to malign use. Overlooking that is how we get 4 more years of Trump.
94,
I see a bill like that, and particularly that passage within the bill, as nothing more than political bait, inviting push back in order to draw attention for no legitimate purpose other than to distract.
Somehow I sincerely doubt that any Ohio public school students have suffered from grading discrimination because they quote a Bible passage in their essay on The Tempest. Although in this age of PIZZABABYCANNIBALYAWP I have absolutely no doubt that tales of such horrors enjoy a vigorous life in the social media accounts of every Ohio Church Lady. Still, it’s probably useful to hysterical thumpers and snake handlers to get defenders of quality public education and true religious freedom distracted from the other passages in the bill that would grant students the right to hold prayer circles or speak in tongues in the middle of math class.
