Newt moved against Clinton in ’95 and LOST, and LOST EVERYTHING in ’98. He was an amazingly corrupt individual who burned out fast for a number of reasons. All the more reason for Democrats to be both bold and mindful of the overreach.

No mandate… bait and switch… put up CONSERVATIVE democraps then hand the reins over to the most liberal assholes this side of Chairmen Mao and Lenin… and that bastion of conservatism, Newsweek, agrees…
A number of post-election polls have suggested that, as Newsweek put it, “Republicans lost the 2006 midterm [election] more than the Democrats won it.”
According to the Newsweek poll, 85% of respondents cited disapproval of the administration’s handling of the war in Iraq as a “major reason” Democrats won. Seventy-one percent cited disapproval of George Bush’s job performance; 67% cited Republican spending habits; 63% said it was disapproval of the Republican congressional performance generally. Only 27% of those asked cited the quality of Democrat candidates as a reason Democrats won the election.
In other words, the American people were not voting “for” the Democrats as much as they were expressing their disapproval of the Republican performance of late.
That said, voters are worried about what the Democrats might do with their majority status. Fifty-one percent of those polled by Newsweek said they were “very concerned” that the new Congress will push too hastily for the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq, while 43% said they were “very concerned” that the Democrat majority would hamper the administration’s efforts to combat terrorism.
Those fears were validated with several headlines in the papers this morning. First, key Senate Democrats announced over the weekend that withdrawing U.S. troops from Iraq will be the top priority of the Democrat-controlled Senate, with legislation being introduced in January. Then, incoming House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of San Francisco announced that she was throwing her weight behind Rep. Jack Murtha in his race for House Majority Leader. Murtha is one of the most vocal anti-war critics of the
administration and a hero of the radical Left.
Not surprisingly, America’s enemies overseas are also declaring victory. Two hundred socialist members of the European Union issued a statement saying that last Tuesday’s elections represented “the beginning of the end of a six-year nightmare for the world,” as though America – not Islamofascism – were responsible for the global war that is raging against
Western Civilization.
This is how Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, interpreted the results of our elections:
“This issue (the elections) is not a purely domestic issue for America, but it is the defeat of Bush’s hawkish policies in the world. Since Washington’s hostile and hawkish policies have always been against the Iranian nation, this defeat is actually an obvious victory for the Iranian nation. With the scandalous defeat of America’s policies in Iraq, Palestine, Lebanon and Afghanistan, America’s threats are empty threats on an international scale.”
Abu al-Masri, leader of Al Qaeda in Iraq, evidently aware of Democrat plans to retreat, taunted us, saying, “We haven’t had enough of your blood yet. We call on the lame duck (President Bush) not to hurry his escape the way the defense secretary did [referring to Donald Rumsfeld’s resignation]. Remain steadfast on the battlefield, you coward. We will not rest from our Jihad until we have blown up the filthiest house – which is called the White House.” In other words, leaving Iraq won’t end the war – the jihadists will come to America.
If our enemies overseas are emboldened by the results of the elections, if they believe America is an “empty threat” on the world stage, then we must steel ourselves for dark days ahead, my friends. What I don’t understand is why leading Democrats have not taken to the airwaves to denounce these statements and dispel any misguided notions that America is a nation in decline, lacking the will to defend our values.

Poor Newt. The most heavily fined, ethically challenged congressperson ever. What a title.
Newt is Republicanism. Pure scum.
Remember the investigations they embarked on with Clinton. The sleazebags spent $60,000,000 in taxpayers money on Whitewater, had their right wing media friends print every lie, and distortion, and when it was all over Clinton was found to be completely innocent.
Just remember. The word Republican means corruption. Every deal done throught K-Street, or Cheney’s back door.
Let the investigations begin. Go slow, and fry these animals. Soon 99% of America will be screaming for impeachment. We don’t have to start there. We just need to finish there.
Remember, there are people in America that still don’t understand Bush is a liar. They still believe him. Fools. Retarded traitors. Wait till it is them deemed an enemy combatant, and dragged off to Gitmo to have their kneecaps drilled…… What, you want a lawyer. Laugh……
“Many of the Democrats who won this year ran as non-liberals — in some cases, as outright conservatives. A number of them, including some incumbents, explicitly disavowed liberal Democratic Rep. Nancy Pelosi (Calif.) and San Francisco values. Many repudiated Massachusetts Democratic Sen. John Kerry’s smear of American troops in Iraq. Remember, he was effectively driven off the campaign trail for the last 10 days by his own party.”
“This was not a realigning election as 1994 was. Voters did not vote “for” the Democrats but “against” Republicans. Now, it will be up to us to see that the results of the 2006 election serve as a temporary but necessary corrective interruption in our goal of getting to a conservative governing majority. Take heart, while there is much to be done, I believe if we are focused, disciplined and we work together, we will Win the Future for America.”
Your friend,
Newt Gingrich
“P.S. – Just yesterday it was reported that incoming House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is supporting Rep. John Murtha (D-Pa.) for majority leader. This is a sign that Pelosi, despite all her talk of moving to the center and reaching out to conservatives, will govern from the left. It is a direct assault on the moderate wing of the Democratic Party and a deliberate break with the second-ranking Democrat in the House, Rep. Steny Hoyer (Md.). The next test for whether Pelosi will govern from the left or the center will be if she appoints Alcee Hastings (D-Fla.), the impeached former federal judge, to chair the Intelligence Committee. No national security supporter will be comfortable with Hastings’ having oversight of the nation’s secrets, but the pressure on Pelosi to appease the Black Caucus is immense. Stay tuned.”

REICHERT EXPANDS LEAD
RubberStampReichert’s lead over Darcy Burner grew after King County posted new numbers Monday night. His lead is now 4,727 votes of 208,225 votes counted in the race, according to the Associated Press.
The AP story says “the race (is) out of reach” but Burner’s campaign said she won’t concede until 20,000 remaining absentee ballots are counted.
After five days of giddiness, Democrats express dismay that their new House leader has thrown herself into the fight to become her Number 2, creating a potentially lose-lose situation where she could either be defeated in her first public contest since the election, or brand herself as a dove.
Rep. Dennis Cardoza (D-Calif.), an early Hoyer backer, tells TIME that he doesn’t think the letter will change votes. “We all believed that Nancy would support Mr. Murtha because of their long personal relationship,” he said. “That was all factored in before over half the members committed to Mr. Hoyer. This doesn’t diminish Nancy’s value as our leader. Leadership races are much more personal than a legislative issue. These are very personal relationships that members build up over time.” Of the current leadership team, he added, “I don’t know why we would break up something that was so successful.”
Another Democratic member said: “There’s no one in the caucus who didn’t know who Nancy Pelosi was going to vote for.”
The biggest winners in last week’s election were the enemies of the United States, who see the results as confirmation of one of their doctrines: the United States is weak and does not have the commitment to fight a protracted war.
There is no talk of a new strategy on their side. They don’t hold elections to replace their leadership with people who will negotiate and compromise with the United States, or the elected Iraqi government. Their media do not carry voices calling for a new approach to the war.
America’s enemies are gloating more than Democrats. But unlike Democrats, their intentions are evil. If the terrorists are to be believed (and who can credibly doubt them?), the U.S. election will encourage them to fight on and kill more of our soldiers.
There are now over 10,000 write-in votes in the prosecutor’s uncontested race, or about 2.86% of the total … an unprecedented vote of no-confidence in partisan hack Norm Maleng, who gave a “Get Out of Jail Free” card to fellow Republican and unconvicted felon Lori Sotelo.
Burner-Reichert: It’s Over
Posted by ELI SANDERS at 07:57 PM
Today’s count didn’t go very well for Darcy Burner (move along, nothing to see here) and now the Seattle Times is reporting that Dave Reichert has declared victory. In addition, the AP is reporting that it has called the race for Reichert.
I just spoke to Burner’s campaign manager, Zach Silk, and he tells me that Burner is going to be placing a call to Reichert tonight and will be holding a press conference at 11 a.m. tomorrow morning at her eastside headquarters.
Is Burner’s phone call tonight going to be the traditional concession call from the loser to the victor? Silk wouldn’t say. He would only repeat that the call was going to be made and that Burner and Reichert were going to have “a private conversation.”
“You can interpret that as you will,” Silk told me.

My, I will give the wingnuts for credit for being imaginative, though they are still inconsistent and without any regard for the truth.
Last week’s Republican Spin: (1) Republicans will hold a majority in the House and Senate, “You have your math, and I have mine”. (2) Republicans may lose the House by a couple of seats, but will still hold the Senate. (3) All Democrats are liberal extremists and friends of Bin Laden. (4) The Democrats will exercise voter fraud, but they will still lose.
This week’s Republican Spin: (1) Democrats cheated because they ran “conservative” Democrats (remember, these are the same candidates their ads claimed were libertal extremists and friends of Bin Laden). (2) Republicans lost because the Republican party wasn’t Republican enough. (3) The Democrates committed voter fraud.
I’ve always wondered what a complete melt-down looks like. Now I know. The fact is the American people finally saw that the Republican party had no credibility, and were using the American people to enrich themselves and their buddies. They no longer allowed the Republicans to split their vote by pitting one group of middle-class wage earners against the other.

Laugh……

Raising a Banner of Bold Colors: Republicanism Lost, but Conservatism Did Not
by Newt Gingrich
Posted Nov 13, 2006

The Honeymoon Is Over
After five days of giddiness, Democrats express dismay that their new House leader has thrown herself into the fight to become her Number 2, creating a potentially lose-lose situation where she could either be defeated in her first public contest since the election, or brand herself as a dove.
The Biggest Winners
