The Seattle Chapter of Drinking Liberally meets this evening for some political discussions with a drink. There is no agenda, no program…just liberals hanging out and engaging in conversations.
We meet tonight and every Tuesday at the Roanoke Park Place Tavern, 2409 10th Ave E, Seattle. You’ll find us out on the back patio. We start at 8:00pm.
Chapters of Living Liberally are all over the place…if you can’t make it to the Seattle chapter, stop by another chapter near you.
I’m shocked, shocked to learn that the predictions of numerous assholes on HA over the weekend about Donald Trump’s demise have proved incorrect.
An awful lot of Rick Wilson parrots on HA.
America, where are you now?
Don’t care about your sons and daughters?
Don’t you know, we need you now –
We can’t fight alone against the Monster!
The fun thing about the Posse Comitatus ruling is that we get to explain to the rank and file National Guard that should they be called up to go to Chicago or back to Los Angeles or to Philadelphia that they do not have a legal defense to any assaults murders wrongful arrest of following orders. They have explicitly been told by the courts stationing within the borders of the United States is in fact illegal.

@5 You don’t seem concerned about high crime rates in gun-totin’, Trump-lovin’, red states. Why is that?
There are plenty of places with higher crime rates than New York City, Washington D.C., or Chicago.
@ 3
Somebody skipped third grade sentence structure lessons.
Dude.
@3
A thing of beauty.
@10 This lesson in grammar is exposited to you by a dude who spelled “hear” as “here” in the previous thread.
@2
Also a thing of beauty

America’s adults are drinking Schmitz in the double wide, they’re lazy.
@9
Somebody hasn’t read the post-modernists.
I double dog dare you to correct it. There are no independent clauses. There are no parentheticals. I get that it’s long and hard for you to follow, but it is a single coherent thought and sense.
Your refusal to address the actual content is duly noted
And the losses keep mounting.
Three judge panel of the fifth circuit comes to the obvious conclusion that the United States is not currently under attack from a foreign nation therefore, invoking the alien and sedition act in order to go after alleged drug runners is illegal.

Todd isn’t a raving lunatic like the talking heads on Fox. He isn’t saying Trump is dead and being propped up like Bernie, but sees “visible signs” of major health issues.
Hmm. The Indiana woman a D.C. grand jury refused to indict for threatening to kill Trump allegedly acknowledged posting the following on Facebook:

That sure looks like a violation of 18 U.S. Code § 871 to me, although she’s a schizo and “family and friends say she behaves tolerably when taking her medication.” She must have lost her pills last month.

Meanwhile, Jeanine Pirro complained, “This is the essence of a politicized jury. The system here is broken on many levels.” (Last link above.)
Yup. It sure looks like a politicized jury reacting to a system that’s broken on many levels. You can say that again. Pirro is now, what, zero-for-four (or something like that) in her attempts to prosecute protesters who think Trump is a Nazi piece of shit and have devised creative ways of saying they wish he’d drop dead. Of course, I’m against that. People should stay out of Trump’s mortality and leave that in God’s hands.
You gotta hand it to Republicans, because twice in this century they’ve elected presidents who only read coloring books. How did they do that? I think they have a special bond with America’s ignorati.
