The King County Demcorat Machine counted the votes to the benefit of Gregoire back in 2004. It took them a couple of times to get in “right,” but they got the result they wanted.

Well, it certainly would look fishy to anyone with an IQ below room temperature who doesn’t know diddly squat about election laws or procedures.
As you’re clearly in that category, allow me to straighten out your misconceptions for you.
First of all, recounts are the law. An election has close as this one was triggers an automatic recount. The candidates or parties have the option of requesting a hand count. These laws have been on the books for, oh, a century or so; and State Senator Rossi voted for the specific incarnation of the recount laws in effect as of 2004.
Secondly, there’s a perfectly valid reason for having recounts, and that’s to (a) correct mistakes and (b) count ballots missed on the Election Eve run through. For example, King County uses optical scanners to count ballots, and these machines fail to count a certain percentage of the ballots for various reasons. In most elections, this percentage is too small to affect the outcome, but in a close election these mechanical counting errors could make the difference.
Third, Rossi didn’t win. Just as there are no winners or losers in a lawsuit until the appeals are exhausted and the judgment is final, there are no winners or losers in an election until the recounts are over and the election is certified. We didn’t hold 3 elections in November 2004, we held only 1 election, and Rossi didn’t win it.
Fourth, there was nothing fishy about the counting of the ballots. Every ballot was hand counted by a Republican and a Democrat. Their tallies had to agree exactly. Moreover, this process wasn’t done just once, but at least 3 times and up to 7 times for every single precinct and ballot in King County. There is no fucking way that count was off by even 1 vote. There was no fucking way to cheat.
You weren’t there, and you don’t know what you’re talking about. I was there, and I’m giving you an accurate description of how the counting was conducted. So take your bullshit GOP talking points and roll them into a tight tubular-shaped scroll and shove them up your ass.

If you really know/knew Dean-Dean-The-Fraud-Machine Logan personally, I would suggest you give him a call. He’s going to need all the support he can get as he has to defend himself in ANOTHER voter fraud lawsuit in Los Angeles County Superior Court.
PI and RM demonstrate a total ignorance of the reality of the situation. The “Democratic Machine of ing County” ran against Gregiore in the primary. The number of write in votes for Sims in the general was greater than the margin. There is no love lost between Sims and Gregiore.
Kind of our our little Obama/Clinton rivelry.
And regarding LA, what I’ve read indicates Logan found a long standing practice which was inconsistent with the law down there. He did not continue that practice and did not count some votes. That caused controversy. An acceptable practice was developed, the LA County Supervisors are happy.

The wingnuts like Ricky Dumbass and Surreal Mark are totally off their nut. The defeat of their whining, extreme right candidate drove them completely insane.

On the other hand, Chris Gregoire’s campaign totally underestimated Dino’s marketing which reminded me of Century 21 or Windemere commercials. Dino marketed himself like a couple’s first house.
Too many were taken in by Dino’s bullshit. It won’t happen this time.
K @ 17: Yep, the Republicans chose Chelan County specifically because it had only two judges there, and both were considered politically friendly to them. One recussed himself, the other accepted the case.
The Republicans tried to get some mail-in ballots which had been overlooked thrown out because they weren’t included in the original count, but the judge disagreed, pointing out that the whole purpose of a hand re-count was to correct any mistakes from the original count.
When the Republicans realized that there was no legitimate way to attack the re-count, they tried to attack the election itself, insisting that they needed a “re-vote” – a mulligan, if you will. They tried to justify it by arguing that some ex-felons voted without having their voting rights restored. But the judge found that the only improper votes which were proven in court had actually voted for Rossi, so he refused to overturn the election, and actually DEDUCTED vots from the Republican total.
That’s right, a REPUBLICAN JUDGE in a REPUBLICAN COUNTY, after a trial lasting several weeks and carefull consideration of the evidence, ruled that THE WINGNUT ALLEGATION THAT ROSSI ACTUALLY WON THE 2004 ELECTION IS A LIE.
Yet, they keep repeating it. I guess they are students of Goebbels, and believe that if you keep repeating a big enough lie, people will believe it.

22: Well, in a way they did have a fourth re-count.
Listen closely. The law (in existence well before the election) says that if the vote is close enough (count # 1), there is an automatic (machine) re-count (count # 2) . After that, either candidate can request a hand re-count, but they have to pay for it – in advance (count # 3).
The hand re-count is more accurate than either of the machine counts which preceeded it. If the hand re-count changes the results, the candidate gets their money back.
The hand re-count – the most accurate of the counting methods – showed Gregoire had won by a very slim majority.
The Republicans challenged this result in court. Because of the way the challenge was conducted, you might call this (unofficially) re-count # 4. In this challenge, the REPUBLICAN judge in a REPUBLICAN county actually ended up subtracting votes from Rossi’s totals due to felons who admitted to voting for him illegally. No such votes were deducted from Gregoire’s total.
So there was one election, and Gregoire won the two counts that really mattered – # 3 and # 4.
I know it’s hard to accept news you don’t want to hear, but the reality is that she won the election, no matter how close it was. I would suggest you seek counseling to help you proceed past the “denial” stage of grief, and move on towards “acceptance”.
