The professional women’s league in Aussie Rules, all Clubs from the AFL are represented in the AFL, although temporally it will be all but one when the Tasmanian Devils join the AFL, but that’s a year or two away. One of the easy parts, turned out to be Warner Brothers approval.

    The NRL has an interesting expansion team coming, Papua New Guinea, as part of Australian soft power there. The sport was introduced there when the Australians were in control. Probably will make for a new ANZAC Day rivalry. PNG was the site of a protracted defensive stand by Australian troops against Japanese Forces that is little known outside of Australia. They were United for the objective, canceling the Empire/Thompson Expressway, but too ideologically diverse. Then the father was rubbing one of the other girls shoulders, maybe she was 8. He was vigorously rubbing her with both hands from neck to upper arms, as she stood in front of him, for about 5 minutes, then the elder girl started to play with the other girls hair briefly. The other gird looked up at her as if she was upset. She stared at the older girl with the stare of death. The older girl stood like a stone, staring back, as if to express superiority.

    Clearly, if Mike had the caucus together with the majority power he could pass this and send it to the Senate today. But he called off all votes and shut down the house again because at least a couple of GrandOldPedo reps have told Mike they’re a hell no on tossing their constituents off their health care. His only play is to pretend the only thing holding this up is the minority party.

    The House already passed a “clean” CR along party lines.
    The Republican Senate needs 60 votes. On September 19th the Seante voted on a stopgap that would fund at current levels through November 21st. It failed on a vote of 44 to 48. They plan another identical vote for later on today.

    MAGA Mike is keeping the House in recess to avoid acting on the Republican Pedo Files discharge petition. He’s also pretending that he can refuse to seat a lawfully elected member who has promised to sign that petition. It’s all mostly performative and honestly, very weak.

    The government will shut down. And when it does the deportation flights will cease, the purges of academia will cease, the attacks on independent media and late night comedians will cease, the censorship will cease, the plans for an Argentine bailout will cease, the plans for a big corn/soybean corporation bailout will cease, etc. These are all very unpopular things right now. So initial public reactions are just as likely to be positive as negative.

    You won’t notice much else at first. But pretty soon ICE Fat Asses will have to ride bicycles to their next raid on a car wash. That will be a fucking laugh riot.

    So when you hear or see Republican Fascists claiming that a swearing in can only proceed after the election has been certified they are obviously lying again. When you see their lips move, they are obviously lying again.

    The government will shut down. And when it becomes too uncomfortable for Republicans to endure any longer they will be forced to take votes on releasing the Republican Pedo Files that they know will kill them.
