Colin Powell Endorses Obama
Former Gen. Colin Powell endorsed Barack Obama today, calling him a “transformational figure.” Powell also called Sarah Palin “unqualified” and criticized McCain’s campaign tactics.
Powell’s endorsement is important because, as an admired military man, he could influence the outcome in states with large numbers of veterans and military voters, notably Florida and North Carolina.
Republican Senator Olympia Snowe today criticized McCain’s robocalls linking Obama to ’60s radical Bill Ayers.
A spokesman for Collins, who is McCain’s Maine co-chair, said “These kind of tactics have no place in Maine politics” and called on McCain “to stop these calls immediately.”
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid called McCain’s tactics “scummy.”

Shrill. Unsteady. Erratic. Incoherent. A man without plans, lurching like a drunk from one worn-out talking point to another. That’s John McCain. It’s not leadership, but merely a dying ideology howling at the moon.
I think the Phillies’ miraculous comeback is merely a right-wing effort to raise Goldy’s hopes…and then squash them today in Game 7!
The Rays are talented…but inexperienced. Couldn’t close the deal…kind of like Socialist’s O-blah-blah and Gregoire.
Here’s the captain of your grand American capitalistic wet-dream.

From Today’s Seattle Times…
Another effort to educate you KLOWNS about the “trickle down” impact of the Boeing Strike.
“Machinists strike
has ripple effects
at Spirit plants
I realize you KLOWNS are incapable of connecting the dots or drawing analogies but let me try by asking questions:
1) What will be the “trickle down” effect of Boeing leaving Washington?
2) What is the “trickle Down” effect of Gregoire killing an already weakened Construction Industry…both on Jobs & Tax Revenues??
You KLOWNS look at business as the enemy.
As I told you before, killing business is like shooting yourself!
Business creates jobs and the majority of our tax base. You KLOWNS repeatedly take business for granted and harpoon them.
Think about the impact of a weak business climate on JOBS and TAX REVENUES!
@4 Only a stupid America-hating fascist like Cynical wouldn’t know that the Rays are playing Boston, not Philly, in the ALCS.
@4
My god, you’re dumb. See comment #7.
@6 “Business creates jobs”
Not exactly, Cyn. Customers create the business that creates jobs. And who are the customers? Ultimately, consumers. (Even businesses that sell to other businesses depend for their sales on consumers buying what those other businesses sell.) And who are consumers? All of us; and most of us are wage earners; so when you beat down wages, we necessarily must consume less, which means less business, which means fewer jobs. The math is inexorable: Managements that outsource jobs or push down wages are, at the end of the day, impoverishing their own customer base and killing their own business. Why are you so dense, Cynical?
Fuck you, Cynical, and not only because you’re so anti-American that you don’t even know one league from the other. Don’t you dare call the Phillies (actually the Red Sox) right wing.
To Lee, thanks for that picture of Tugger, who famously said:
[asked what he planned to do with his World Series winnings] Ninety percent I’ll spend on good times, women and Irish Whiskey. The other ten percent I’ll probably waste.
[asked to compare grass and Astroturf] I dunno. I never smoked any Astroturf.
Ten million [sic] years from now, when then sun burns out and the Earth is just a frozen iceball hurtling through space, nobody’s going to care whether or not I got this guy out.
As well as Ya Gotta Believe!!
Go Phillies!!
Tug’s son, Tim, (who Tuggy deserted) is a hardcore Republican.
O-blah-blah’s Mommy & Daddy deserted him and he is a Socialist.
Interesting, huh?
Another lie, Cynical.
If Tim McGraw is a hardcore Republican, he has a very funny way of displaying it (from January 2006, emphasis added):
Any that was almost three years ago. Unlikely that any events since then would have made him any more disposed toward your anti-American political cabal.
Mr. Cynical is just what I can not stand about uneducated Americans. The Philles have not played the Rays yet in the playoffs. Boston, however, did manage to make a short lived comeback agains the Rays. At any rate, Philadelphia the the furthest from a right wing city. Did you see what happened when Sarah came here? You truely are a horse’s ass.
