Bush is such a fuck up. First, he stiffs the Chinese Prez by making it a “official” visit, and not a “state” visit. No state dinner. No schmoozing. Bush was in bed by 9. We wouldn’t want to try to convince the guy to revalue his currentcy or expand democracy. Then Bush allows a wack-job to get into the front lawn event. Nice. Bush doesn’t understand that the Chinese think relationships are important, and by bypassing the dinner and drinks, Bush misses a big big BIG opportunity to drag China in the 21st centrury.
I miss the good ole’ days when Clinton wined and dined the Chinese and expand free trade for American (and WA state) businesses. In fact, Gov. Gary Locke was a great opening act. It’s telling that the WA half of the trip (at Gates house especially) went off really well.
In fact, the Chinese nat’l anthem was announced as the “Republic of China’s” nat’l anthem.

I didn’t say that it wouldn’t have an effect. It just won’t have the amount of effect that you would like in this state. The 4th and 5th districts are too safe for the GOP to lose, and Dave Reichert is too strong personally to be defeated by a third tier candidate. It could have certainly made a difference if the 8th district was an open seat, like it was in 2004, and you had a strong candidate like Dave Ross.
By the way, I have used the quadratic formula, and the watermelon will hit the ground MINUS 3.75 SECONDS after being thrown from the federal building …
