Well SOMEBODY has to vote

by Jon DeVore — Friday, 3/19/10, 4:30 pm

From The Columbian’s political blog, concerning the vague, say-nothing-meaningful approach taken by one candidate seeking to succeed him, Democrat Denny Heck, on health care reform:

Baird, who has endorsed Heck, told us he agrees with Heck’s broad-brush stance on the issue, saying, “It’s not his job to take a position on this bill.”

Thus far it apparently hasn’t been Baird’s job either.

    Hey Goldy…

    Dear Cornellian:

Please join us in congratulating the Men’s Basketball team on their first-ever NCAA tournament victory, a 78-65 win over fifth-seeded Temple!!!

This means the Big Red will play again on Sunday, March 21, against the winner of the Wisconsin-Wofford game taking place later this afternoon.

For more details about the timing of the second-round game and the opponent, please visit the NCAA website, http://www.ncaa.com/brackets/basketball/men/.

Also join the Big Red Post Season group on Facebook to get up-to-the-minute news over the weekend!

We’re guessing that that the regional clubs will convene in the same locations on Sunday as they did today, but please check with the contact on this list, as we here in Ithaca don’t know any more than what’s here!!

Did you get your regional invitation to watch the game?

And it’s not our job to take seriously any candidate who won’t take a position on the biggest political issue of the day.

Baird is becoming more of a water-ass with each passing day. Looks like he’s trying not to make waves. Gotta get ready for his next career as a lobbyist. Effing jerk, good bye and good riddance. At least Craig Pridemore is willing to take a position. Heck is just trying to play both sides, and Baird the water-ass is more than happy to enable him.

You seem to be throwing facts at Rufus. Rufus doesn’t like facts. Facts upset the way that Rufus sees the world. So, please, don’t throw any more facts at Rufus.

What I learned about lefties a long time ago is that if you don’t toe their party line, you are a pariah and should be destroyed. That’s the ethos of the American Bolshevik left epitomized by Goldy and his followers.

What I learned about wingnuts a long time ago is that whatever trait or belief of theirs that they don’t like, are ashamed of, or simply don’t want people to know about, they project onto progressives. I first started seeing it back in the ’90’s when a bunch of moral degenerates went after Clinton. This last decade one could see where these freaks were really coming from – hatred of America and treason – simply by reading the titles of the trashy books being pumped out by the likes of Coulter and Hannity. That alone is like a window into the crazed wingnut mind. These people are so fucking Psych 101 it’s not even funny anymore. Indeed, nowdays we have a bunch of stupid corporatism lovin’, faux-libertarian fascist fools namecalling progressives as fascists. What a bunch of fucking loons. What these asswipes have coming to them is a well deserved bitch-slappin’! Thank our lucky progressive stars that some of these America-hating traitors show up here so we can all take turns giving them one.

definition of socialized medicine via newshounds.

As defined by Physicians for a National Health Program, “Socialized medicine is a system in which doctors and hospitals work for and draw salaries from the government. Doctors in the Veterans Administration and the Armed Services are paid this way . . . But in most European countries, Canada, Australia and Japan they have socialized health insurance, not socialized medicine. The government pays for care that is delivered in the private (mostly not-for-profit) sector. This is similar to how Medicare works in this country.
