Podcasting liberally

Seattle Port Commission candidate Rob Holland joins the podcast, prompting Goldy to ask, “What the hell is the Port of Seattle?” Rob offers an overview of the Port and shares his vision for the Port’s future.

The panel then takes on the outrageous, inflammatory, tasteless, over-the-top routine of Wanda Sykes at the White House Correspondents’ dinner. Doesn’t this just prove that Republicans flat-out lack a sense of humor?

What is this world coming to when a lawyer makes charges of libel and defamation against a lowly blogger and demands the removal of an old post? Get the inside story, in which Goldy graciously declines to both remove the post and “out” the offending attorney.

Goldy was joined by Seattle Port Commission candidate Rob Holland, Effin’ Unsound’s & Horsesass’s Carl Ballard, and Horsesass contributor (and brand new dad) Lee.

Seattle Jew, a true liberal spews:

    Sykes …. Limbaugh

    on the offensiveness scale?????????????????

May the LORD forgive us, for we know not what we do.

  2. 3

    Mark1 spews:

Someone remind Lee that he should only toke during the commercials (if there are any) as we can all hear the bong bubbling in the background. Whoa! Dude! Someone should grow up and be a good Dad, not to mention an adult….

    Michael spews:

    Greetings from Spokane!

I’m typing this in a hip little coffee shop down town that’s chocked full of liberal/lefty types and would be right at home on Capitol Hill. Except that people are way friendlier in Spokane than Seattle, of course.

    Suck on that, righties!

If you’re ever in The ‘Kan stop by the Empyrean, it’s a great little spot.

  4. 5

    Roger Rabbit spews:

My vision for the POS’s future is disband it and turn its functions over to the county. The POS is the most dysfunctional public agency in our state. Except maybe DSHS.

  5. 7

Honestly, if my son isn’t smarter than Mark1 by the time he starts kindergarten, I’ll already feel like I’ve failed as a dad.

  6. 8

    Puddybud is shocked SHOCKED spews:

The leftist pinhead Bono wrote these lyrics about Elvis:

“Elvis the bumper stickers/ Elvis the white knickers/ Elvis the white nigger ate at Burger King and just kept getting bigger.”

How cum the leftists always get away with smears?

  7. 10

    YellowPup spews:

In the podcast, Lee makes a good point in the podcast about political correctness.

I thought the stuff about Limbaugh just wasn’t very funny. Stephen Colbert gave the best and bravest comedic performance at this event, and it was much more lacerating in its mockery (it also went on for 25 minutes!) than Sykes’ blunt-edged wish that Limbaugh’s kidneys would fail.

    Puddybud is shocked SHOCKED spews:

Fool@11: Of course 100 out of 100 HollyWeird pinheads love Hugo Chavez! Just ask Sean Penn, Danny Glover, Oliver Stone, etc.

  9. 13

    Roger Rabbit spews:

@11 I didn’t think about that, but you’re right, even Robert Mugabe polls better than the GOP.

  10. 14

    ByeByeGOP spews:

The righties want WHATADICK Cheney to sit the fuck down and shut the fuck up – only in typical Publican tradition, don’t have the balls to say it to his face – so they talk about the idiot behind his back.

As the White House spokesman said – “Great – we love it when he represents the GOP!”

  11. 16

    Steve spews:

I see that today’s Rasmussen Daily Tracking Poll has the Presidential Approval Index at +8, one point higher than yesterday and 700% higher than May 2nd. It’s obvious that our president’s approval is soaring!

  12. 17

    ByeByeGOP spews:

WOW the CIA is busted. They lied (big surprise) now they are having their bluff called. Speaker Pelosi is calling on them to declassify and release ALL the briefing notes to Congress from 2002. Come on CIA – back up your shit or sit the fuck down. Watch the CIA cut and run. They can say anything they want (remember WMD?) but we all know they’re lying.

Of course none of this really matters. Try as they might, the traitors and cowards on the right hope the REAL issue will go away. It won’t. It was the BUSH REGIME that created, approved, authorized and executed torture. The BUSH REGIME did that. Nobody else.

  13. 18

    ByeByeGOP spews:

Wonder why the dicklicking CYNCYN isn’t talking about that Rasmussen poll Steve :)

LOL – there’s no doubt why we beat the fuck out of the GOP in Nov. All they have to count on is inbred fools like CYNCYN.

  15. 22

    ByeByeGOP spews:

LOL New York Post – another Faux News style outlet. That’s what amounts to intellectual reading for that child molester Stamerin Marvin.

Now for something REALLY funny – the infighting between the faaaar right bat shit crazy wing of the GOP and the regular bat shit crazy wing of the GOP is intensifying.

I love watching these traitors battle amongst themselves.

  16. 23

    WhoaBoy spews:

It was not all those things that right wing commentators said it was, but Sykes’ joke about Limbaugh wasn’t actually funny either.

The left does itself a disservice when it says anything goes in any circumstance. It’s not like Rush isn’t an easy target – which is a point that is now lost in the endless, mindless debate about the joke.

It is much more interesting when the joke is so good that the person being caricatured thinks he is being praised, as is the case with the right’s embrace of Colbert.

Just because the right gets its panties in a knot doesn’t mean the left has to react.

  17. 24

    GBS spews:

    Puddy @ 8:

C’mon man, you’re out of your element here. Bono is a HUGE Elvis fan and this was a tribute poem to the King.

I don’t expect you to get it, because conservatives think Colbert is on your side.

But are you just hacking away at Bono just because . . . or better yet, because Limabaugh said to as leader of the GOP?

Is it because he used an offensive word to you?

Have you or Boy Sheik al Marvin done as much to relieve the famine, suffering, disease prevention and debt relief for Africans as Bono?

Or are you just happy to jump all over his right to free speech despite all the good he has done for Africans?

He is just an Irish kid form North Dublin, when Dublin was basically a slum town. So how did he rise up so fast, so far, to do so much for Africans when you were so much more privlaged to be born in America and yet have done so little for Africans?

Why do you hate someone who has done so much good for African people?

  18. 26

    Daddy Love spews:

Hey, remember when Kusay and Uday Hussein were alleged to have tortured people in “torture rooms?” Republicans thought that was awful, so awful that it was essential for a large, powerful country to invade, topple their government, and loot occupy their country!

I’m so glad we came to our senses since then. But now that we know that torture is a fine thing and an unremarkable tool of ordinary statecraft, don’t we owe the Hussein boys a bit of an apology?

    Daddy Love spews:

    20 MS

Rasmussen says (re: who is more trusted to handle the economy) that “This is…the closest the two parties have been on the issue since last August.”

Yeah? Well, depends on to whom you listen. A NBC/WSJ poll that came out March 3rd, 2009 found that by a 48-20 percent margin, Americans believe the Democratic Party would do a better job of getting the U.S. out of recession than the Republican Party.

It’s just Rasmussen and pretty much Rasmussen alone who publishes numbers that are so far from those of other pollsters and so GOP-friendly that a suspicious person might think that they are juicing their polls to get press from FOX.
